Chapter 125 124 Comments on "Xian Ni"
Chapter 125 124. Comments on "Xian Ni"
I tried to reread "Xian Ni" today and would like to share my thoughts with you lovely people.
"Xian Ni", author: Er Gen, platinum writer.
Category: Xianxia-Fantasy cultivation of immortality.
【Introduction】
Follow the will and you will be ordinary, go against the will and you will be immortal, it is just a matter of one thought in your mind...
【Golden Ten Chapters】
Chapter One: Leaving Home. The protagonist, Wang Lin, nicknamed Tiezhu, was originally an ordinary person, living with his parents in a remote village. One day, his fourth uncle came to visit with news. The Hengyue Sect was recruiting disciples, and he had given the spot reserved for his family to Wang Lin. His father was grateful and overjoyed. As the news spread, many people came to congratulate him, including the protagonist's uncle's family. They had come specifically to attack the protagonist's family.
Chapter 2: The Immortal. The protagonist arrives at the Laidu Clan and meets the other two candidates. The Immortal, flying on his sword, arrives and praises the top candidate, the protagonist's cousin, Wang Zhuo. The three of them soar high into the sky with the Immortal, rushing to the Hengyue Sect, where they are captivated by the sight of the Immortal Gate.
Chapter 3: The Test. The entrance exam was extremely rigorous. The protagonist's cousin, Wang Zhuo, was exempted, while his cousin, Wang Hao, earned the qualification to become an alchemy child through flattery and gifts. As expected, the protagonist was eliminated in the first round. However, he decisively took the second test: perseverance, which involved climbing a mountain.
Chapter 4: Ruthless. The protagonist failed the second test again, failing to meet the requirements and sustaining numerous injuries. Three days later, this group of losers had one last chance to gain the Sword Spirit's approval. Unfortunately, the protagonist was once again ruthlessly rejected.
Chapter 5: Returning to the City. Having failed all the entrance tests, Wang Lin was in a very low mood. Returning to the family home with his cousins, he didn't know what to say to his father and other relatives who were concerned about him.
Chapter 6: Snobs. The relatives, sneers and sneering, tear into each other's faces. Those who had previously exchanged pleasantries, even those discussing marriage, now shunned Wang Lin's family like the plague. The portrait of these snobs is vividly portrayed. The only one standing by Wang Lin's family at this moment was his fourth uncle.
Chapter 7: Leaving a Letter. Wang Lin leaves a letter to his parents, informing them of his unwavering resolve to achieve immortality and his decision to try again at the Hengyue Sect. Setting out on his own, he arrives near the mountain gate only to encounter a white tiger. In despair, Wang Lin jumps off a cliff, only to be sucked into a cave.
Chapter 8, Stone Bead. The cave possessed a mysterious suction force, and Wang Lin's being drawn in was a matter of destiny. Just then, another bird was sucked in and died. Ignoring the filth, Wang Lin ate the bird raw, only to discover a stone bead. It looked unremarkable at first, but after drinking the animal bone dew the next day, he realized it was a truly immense treasure.
Chapter 9: Descending the Cliff. Wang Lin smeared his clothes with the dew from the stone beads and slowly descended, but he still fell and wounded himself. He quickly used the dew to heal his wounds. At the request of the Wang family, the immortals of the Hengyue Sect found Wang Lin and brought him back to the mountain gate. After a long discussion, the elders decided to accept Wang Lin as a registered disciple to protect the sect's reputation.
Chapter 10: Initiation. Wang Lin was able to be recruited thanks to his fourth uncle's gift of a piece of iron essence. However, after Wang Lin's initiation, his daily tasks were essentially carrying ten jars of water. His reputation as a loser who committed suicide to enter the sect was well known within the sect. Even Zhang Hu, his roommate, nearly blurted it out.
【Brief Comment】
"Xian Ni" has always had the reputation of "After Xian Ni, there is no more cultivation of immortals."
Just reading these opening chapters, the feeling is not strong, nor does it convey the awe-inspiring and magnificent momentum.
But between the lines, one can see the protagonist Wang Lin's struggle against fate.
Although he failed the test three times and felt despair in his heart, he did not really think about committing suicide.
He even set out on a journey alone without telling his parents, seeking an opportunity to cultivate into an immortal.
It was just an accident that caused him to fall off a cliff, and that's how he got the mysterious stone bead.
This stone bead was naturally the later "Tianni", but why it was swallowed by a bird is quite strange.
Although Wang Lin obtained the stone bead, he did not show any amazing talent or enviable qualifications.
He was able to join the Hengyue Sect only because the sect was declining and needed to select disciples from among mortals. He was also worried that some people would commit suicide because they were not allowed to join, thus ruining their little reputation.
More importantly, there are treasures contributed by Wang Lin’s fourth uncle.
Therefore, Wang Lin's path to becoming an immortal was extremely bumpy and difficult from the very beginning.
After entering the realm of immortality, one's only duties are menial tasks like chopping wood and carrying water, and the formal journey to becoming an immortal is a long and arduous one. From the outset, the book "Xian Ni" foretells that the protagonist must go against the current and endure countless hardships before achieving success.
The tone was set extremely tragically.
Not to mention the later period, when Wang Lin continued to walk in the human world, searching for the one he loved.
Of course, the sadness and depression of "Xian Ni" are slightly more optimistic than "Qiu Mo".
I’ll talk to you all about the beginning of “Seeking the Devil” another day.
【to sum up】
Writing is not easy, so cherish every moment!
I’m Cang Yiwei, and I’m here to promote “Cang’s Ramblings”!
Welcome to the paradise of book reviews.
【Cang's Ramblings】
Regarding "Xian Ni", many of my memories are actually vague. When I tried to read it again this time, I still couldn't remember much of the plot.
According to my experience of trying to read the new book, the beginning of "Xian Ni" is actually not particularly good.
Instead, it gives people a rather lengthy feeling.
Especially now, people pay attention to the so-called "golden three chapters". The first chapter must have time travel and golden fingers, the second chapter must have contradictions and conflicts, and the third chapter can have a slight story turn. If you can pretend to be something and slap the enemy in the face, you will be able to retain more readers.
However, everyone can talk about the truth, but when it comes to practical application, everyone has different ideas.
In particular, every author was a proud little angel in his previous life. Generally speaking, he would not tolerate others changing his ideas.
After all, if everyone comes to give suggestions, how can the author continue writing?
Those who crowdfund their books die because they accept all the readers' ideas.
Although the beginning of "Xian Ni" is not amazing, it is even very traditional, just like "A Mortal's Journey to Immortality".
But as I said above, Wang Lin's destiny will become completely different from the moment he obtains the stone bead "Tianni".
Wang Lin's life was like living in a dream, miserable, helpless, sad and desperate. Countless repressed emotions constantly tempered his character.
If you can't bear it even once, death will come at any time.
The path to becoming an immortal is originally to go against the will of heaven.
This book expresses the word "reverse" in great detail.
Every time Wang Lin was promoted, every time he cut off his past, every time he walked alone in the world looking for the one he loved, it made people feel sad.
Many readers highly praise "Xian Ni", which fully demonstrates that this book writes out the true meaning of cultivating immortals.
Compared to real life, when you encounter suffering that cannot be resolved, thinking about how Wang Lin reversed his fate may help you find a solution.
However, "Xian Ni", as well as Er Gen's "Qiu Mo" and "I Shall Seal the Heavens", all coincidentally focus on human nature and explore the tenacious qualities behind human nature.
Otherwise, how can you survive in the world of cultivating immortals?
