Chapter 340 335. Comments on "Fahai, You Don't Understand the Journey to the West"
Today I would like to recommend a new book about the Great and Mighty Dragon.
"Fahai, You Don't Understand the Journey to the West", Timo Yuzu, level 1 author.
Category: Xianxia-classical Xianxia.
【Introduction】
I will never forget that day when my master shouted with great power and the Heavenly Dragon smashed the Five Finger Mountain. Then he grabbed my neck and asked me whether I wanted to go to the West with him or he would send me there.
I will never forget that day when my master sneered and said, "How can there be love between a human and a demon?" Then he grabbed my ear and dragged me out of Gao Village...
I will never forget that day when my master moved mountains and filled up the quicksand river with one move, and then said without even looking back: How dare you show off your skills in front of an expert!
I will never forget that day when my master locked all the dragons of the East China Sea into the demon-suppressing formation under the Leifeng Pagoda, and then said to me: Buddhas, please have mercy on me, I am in need of a mount right now, please come and help me cultivate my concentration.
……
He traveled through Fahai and was born two hundred years earlier. He originally just wanted to follow his nephew Tang Xuanzang to obtain Buddhist scriptures and strive to be included in the immortal class, but he did not expect that in the end he would become the one to obtain Buddhist scriptures.
"Wukong, retreat immediately and don't try to take my head!"
【Golden Ten Chapters】
Chapter One: This is Journey to the West. The protagonist travels back in time and becomes Fahai, a 200-year-old Journey to the West. Xuanzang is his nephew. He travels from Hangzhou to Chang'an, slaying demons and monsters along the way. Countless legends surround him.
Chapter 2: This monk is truly shameless. He and the girl are simply... a perfect match. The protagonist meditates in the guest room, recalling the timeline of this world of gods and demons, and increasingly believes that only by following the Journey to the West can he have a chance of joining the ranks of the immortals. But the next day, a girl in red arrives, revealing to be the bandit who abducted him years ago.
Chapter Three: As expected, pretending in front of someone you like comes at a price! Linglong has grown into a beautiful and lovable mountain king, and the protagonist is deeply concerned about her. However, compared to the journey to the West, personal relationships must be put aside. He injected thirty-three life-saving blasts of mighty dragon power into Linglong's body, but he himself was weak and helpless.
Chapter 4: Master Xuanzang's nephew has a bit of baby fat. The protagonist enters Chang'an City, where his handsome appearance once again causes quite a stir. The gatekeepers treat him with caution and send him directly to the temple where Xuanzang resides. Arriving at Hongfu Temple, where all the monks gather in the main hall, the protagonist finally sees Master Xuanzang's nephew, who has a bit of baby fat.
Chapter 5: I, too, want to build that muscular body... The protagonist's first meeting with Xuanzang is not a pleasant one. Xuanzang seems somewhat disappointed by Fahai's identity and the rumors surrounding him. A monk from the temple takes Fahai to his meditation room for rest. Upon seeing his powerful dragon tattoo and muscular build, he immediately feels Fahai's extraordinary charm, and Xuanzang's jealousy intensifies.
Chapter 6: Discussion of Scriptures and the Way. Hongfu Temple assumed Fahai was there to discuss Buddhist teachings, so they first had Xuanzang guide the morning class, then had Fahai preside over it. Fahai was clearly not up to standard Buddhist principles, so he offered several examples, allowing the audience to judge for themselves. However, regardless of whether they chose the pros or cons, these examples contradicted Buddhist principles.
In Chapter 7, this martial art is called Shaolin Tongzi Kung Fu. Fahai's ethical paradox left everyone speechless and nearly swayed their resolve. Later, at a vegetarian meal, Fahai, dissatisfied with the lack of flavor, cooked the food himself, also teaching the monks how to improve their cooking. Later, he offered to teach the monks a few more physical fitness techniques, and Hongfu Temple agreed.
Chapter 8: Xuanzang's Conflict. Fahai spent his days in the temple neither meditating nor worshipping the Buddha. Instead, he went shopping or exercised on the mountain. This puzzled Xuanzang, who was brooding over the three ethical paradoxes. Meanwhile, the Tang Emperor had already designated Xuanzang as the master for the Water and Land Assembly.
Chapter 9: So, the uncle master is at the third level. Xuanzang still seeks out Fahai for answers to his three questions, lest he never grasp the key to understanding them. After listening to Fahai's explanation, Xuanzang understands, but he knows these principles are definitely not something that can be learned from current Buddhist scriptures. He is surprised that Fahai's understanding of Buddhist principles has already reached the third level.
Chapter 10: Tell me your story about the prostitutes in Hangzhou. While Fahai and Xuanzang are debating, Princess Changle, eavesdropping from behind a tree, is caught and pesters Fahai to tell her about Hangzhou. But that's not going to work. Xuanzang goes to the main hall to meet the King of Tang, and Fahai tells the princess the story of sweet potatoes. Later, Wei Zheng approaches Fahai and pays him a respectful tribute.
【Brief Comment】
Timo Yuzu, a level 1 author, has written four books, the first three of which are jokes.
This book, "Fahai, You Don't Understand the Journey to the West", is also a bit mysterious.
But it's interesting, so I recommend it to everyone.
The book currently has very few words, and it is still unclear whether it can be put on the shelves. The reasons for recommending it are as follows: First, it is interesting.
Recently, Zhao Wenzhuo's version of Fahai has been a hot topic, and many novels based on "The Great and Mighty Heavenly Dragon" have emerged on major online literary platforms.
Like "Poor Monk Xu Xian, the Supreme Taoist" and "Poor Monk Fahai, the Buddha, the World Honored One", you can see the shadow of the Great and Powerful Heavenly Dragon just from the title, and the starting point is mainly centered around the city of Hangzhou.
The Fahai in this book is still the great and powerful Fahai, but he arrived earlier and went directly to the Journey to the West world of the Tang Dynasty.
He came to Chang'an from Hangzhou and found Xuanzang. He originally planned to join Xuanzang's team on the journey to the West, follow them all the way to obtain Buddhist scriptures, and get the opportunity to become an immortal and achieve immortality.
However, his abilities were too strong, and modern thinking discouraged Xuanzang from seeking Buddhist scriptures. Instead, he implemented the theory that the path lies beneath his feet.
The Western Buddha had no choice but to temporarily assign Fahai as the pilgrim, allowing Sun Wukong, Xiao Bailong and other original crew members to follow along, but their purpose had also changed. Their mission was no longer to protect their master from being eaten by monsters, but to hold Fahai and prevent him from killing all the monsters.
The second is to care for newcomers.
His previous books were all theoretical attempts to explore his own writing style, but they did not go very deep.
This Journey to the West-themed book has a rather unique imagination and many highlights, so it is not an exaggeration to call it "heretical".
I have recommended some brain-opening articles like this before, and I have seen that the endings of most of them are not perfect.
Because one day your imagination will run out.
In addition, since he is a newcomer, he has some ideas about making progress together. He would like to introduce it to everyone and learn how to develop his imagination.
The third is reader needs.
In the past, many readers complained that the books I recommended were too popular and classic, and hoped that I could recommend more unpopular and niche books.
To be honest, it’s not easy to find.
Even if we find some, they may not be what readers like.
Just like writing a book, promoting a book is no different. It's hard to please everyone, and it's not an easy task in itself.
So I can only try to find some relatively brain-opening books for everyone while ensuring that the book is interesting, so that we can have fun together.
Based on the above three points, I hope this book will interest everyone.
【to sum up】
Writing is not easy, so cherish every moment!
I’m Cang Yiwei, and I’m here to promote “Cang’s Ramblings”!
Welcome to the paradise of book reviews.
