Today I continue to recommend the works of the great Hongdou.

"Heroes' Creed", Xiangsi Xihongdou, a great writer.

【Introduction】

The banshee owner of the Doom Tavern was indeed a considerate and kind person. After drinking a glass of 'Midnight', Donton began to complain, why should I, a Templar, lead a group of subordinates from the dark camp?

"If you pretend to be a Death Knight occasionally, you might even meet the Forgotten Queen!" The female boss said this insincerely, and then scolded several banshee maids who kept rubbing against Donton.

"No one wants to deal with undead creatures all day long. You can't even see a girl when you take them out." Donton complained.

"The Ghoul Corps cares nothing for anything except raw meat, and they're always absent from their daily gentlemanly classes. The Abomination Corps has recently become obsessed with bandages, believing that slightly yellow linen is the ultimate fashion statement. They've wrapped themselves up like mummies, and even the Succubus Maid Corps has begun publicly demanding paid vacations!
After buying the omniscient and omnipotent ancient magic book from the five mysterious and legendary wandering merchants on the continent, the civilian boy Donton embarked on his road of conquest!
【Golden Ten Chapters】

Chapter 1, The First Postman. The protagonist, Donton, once again cleverly managed to get past the sentries guarding the city. He is the first postman in Morning Mist Town. He works diligently and efficiently, and his colleagues envy him. Even Melissa from the HR department likes to tease him, but the clerk doesn't like him at all.
Chapter 2: A bloody punch. (Authentic chapter blocked) The new clerk attacks the protagonist, but they perfectly dodge. Humiliated, he orders the other postmen to beat him up. The protagonist is forced to explain that he is Melissa's man, a woman with a complicated background. The clerk then insults the protagonist's sister. Unable to touch her weak spot, the protagonist delivers a brutal beating.

Chapter 3, The Golden Ivory Tavern. The protagonist has assaulted someone and lost his job. Thinking about his sister's future tuition, he feels a heavy burden. His good postmen find him and invite him to the tavern. There, he encounters a traveling merchant with a book on his stall that piques his interest.

Chapter 4: The Mage. The son of the wealthiest family in Morning Mist Town publicly ridicules the protagonist for not having the money to buy the book, only to be scolded and taken away by his father. The protagonist finally buys it for ten gold coins, but it feels like their memory has been scrutinized. The companions join the mercenary group, and although the protagonist doesn't have a talent, he's accepted anyway.

Chapter 5, Vortex Meditation. The protagonist returns home, opens the codex, and, holding onto a glimmer of hope, begins meditating. Previously, he could only achieve shallow meditation, but this time, he was able to achieve intermediate meditation. If his companions hadn't called him, he would have missed his departure. Although he was scolded by his employer, the reward for this expedition was quite high after all. On the way, he opened the codex again, but accidentally activated it.

Chapter 6: The Ancient Grimoire. The protagonist writes on the code once again, finally discovering it's an Ancient Grimoire, belonging to an aesthete. The other party also gives him an advanced meditation technique, though its effects haven't yet been seen. This grimoire is essentially the protagonist's cheat code.

Chapter 7, Raven Hill Cemetery. The group arrives at Raven Hill Cemetery, their sole purpose being to gather herbs. The protagonist's exceptional ability to find herbs earns him a high, long-term offer, but he refuses. Soon, they encounter a ghoul horde possessed by an intelligent lord, and are surrounded.

Chapter 8: A One-Hit Kill. Everyone began to flee, but the ghouls were even faster. Soon, the middle-aged man in the group was devoured mercilessly by the ghouls. As they neared the town, the protagonist's friend also broke his leg and was in critical condition. The protagonist carried him on his back and fled, but to avoid being dragged down, he charged into the ghoul horde. The protagonist had no choice but to fight back, unexpectedly achieving a one-hit kill.

Chapter 9: Dungeon Teleport. Everyone escapes to a small building, where the protagonist is used as bait, but he sees through their trap. On the third floor, they mistakenly enter a long-abandoned teleportation array, entering a mysterious realm. Without magic power, they cannot return.

Chapter 10: The Hidden Treasure. This is an ancient underground city, filled with undead spirits and treasures. The remaining five believe they are about to unlock the door to wealth, but they harbor sinister intentions. They ultimately act independently, and the protagonist quickly finds a secluded room, utilizing the abundant mana within to begin meditating, determined to seize the opportunity to become a mana user.

【Brief Comment】

This book is Xiangsi Xihongdou's first work published in Sanjiang. His previous work "Infinite Boiling" failed to enter Sanjiang.

Sanjiang in that era was different from what it is now, and the standards were quite high.

Although this book is classified as a fantasy novel, it is clearly a Western fantasy work.

Knights, ghouls, dragons, banshees, undead, etc., nine empires, various secret realms, magical talents, races, team battles, etc.

The various settings promised by the author were all completed one by one, outlining a very exciting Western fantasy world. This style was quite good at the time, along with "Panlong" and "Xiling Empire".

Especially for readers who have played online games like "Miracle" and "World of Warcraft", or readers who have read "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, it is easier to immerse themselves in this type of Western fantasy novel.

Western fantasy themes, except for "Lord of Mysteries", are currently in a relatively unpopular state.

Western names of people, places, and settings are all important factors that cause reading difficulties.

This book certainly has such problems, but overall, whether it is the characters, the characteristics of the secret realm, or the direction of the plot and the dynasty struggle, they are all quite interesting.

The author's ability to handle different themes is evident.

Although he is a great author, his popularity is far from reaching the level of a true first-tier writer.

His new book "The Greatest Teacher" is only ranked around 200th in monthly votes.

But what is valuable is that although the updates are not fast, at least they have a beginning and an end, and are not abandoned halfway.

The book "Hero's Creed" can be regarded as the fulfillment of many authors' desire to try their hand at Western fantasy. For example, Rong Xiaorong's "School Sister" died young, and Eternal Flame's "World of the Gods" was also a lukewarm success.

This is due to the subject matter, not the author's lack of ability.

In fact, they know better than readers what topics are likely to become popular and what readers like to read.

But as an aspiring author, one always wants to write about topics that he or she is interested in. After all, if the author himself or herself is not interested, the book he or she writes will not have much passion or interest.

【to sum up】

Writing is not easy, so cherish every moment!

【Cang's Ramblings】

For now, I only recommend these two of his books. I can’t handle more.

After all, I am a book promoter with a soul.

If you push it hard, it will be awkward.

Next time I'll try to find more works with a funny style.

Reality is too boring, I need to find more fun in books!
