Chapter 1, The Beggar. The protagonist, Tails, is a time traveler, a graduate student in his previous life, now a seven-year-old beggar. He was reported for not turning in all the money he had begged. He was severely beaten by the leader, Quide, but he avoided the critical moment and averted the crisis. Afterwards, he even pointed out the informer but forgave him. In the Sunset Temple, a light illuminated by itself, symbolizing the kingdom's future.

Chapter 2: A Nervous Rick. Rick is the underboss and an aspiring fraternity brat. He orchestrated the protagonist's beating, hoping to build his own power and taking a liking to the protagonist. First the stick, then the date. The other kids are terrified of Rick, so the protagonist has to pretend to be. On his way home, Rick feels a chill on the back of his neck, as if someone is out to harm him.

Chapter 3: Ghosts. Rick's recent mental state has been quite poor, leading him to ignore the beggars he's attracted to and the taunts of the gang's man and woman. He deduces a crucial clue from minor details: he might be implicated in the succession of power at the top.

Chapter 4: Accidents always strike. At the Sunset Bar, Quaid is beaten by the bar girl, Yara. Returning to his hideout, he's mocked by his thugs, and in a rage, he kills them. All of this is Rick's doing, and Rick silences another thug. The protagonist is also planning his own plan, but accidents still happen.

Chapter 5: The Madness of Quaid. Quaid, driven mad and drunk, begins slaughtering beggars, room by room. Initially, the protagonists and their companions remain bystanders, convinced that disaster won't happen to them. However, Quaid quickly captures him. Rick returns to headquarters to discover that the gang is preparing to declare war on another gang, a fact they've kept secret until now.

Chapter 6, First Blood. This chapter is incredibly violent and has been ruthlessly blocked. Quaid tortures the protagonist and the other beggars with extremely cruel methods, each with its own distinct style. Even the protagonist's chest is mercilessly burned with silver coins. However, in the end, he fights with all his might and kills Quaid.

Chapter 7: Escape Plan. Three of the protagonist's companions have died, and he must get the rest out alive. He spreads the word, allowing the beggars in other rooms to escape, to confuse the beggars. He takes his companions to the bar, finds Yara, and asks for shelter, telling her that Quaid is dead.

Chapter 8, JC. Five hours earlier, at the West City Police Department, Chief Lobik ordered a street closure. Third Security Captain Cohen, however, insisted that the police must be dispatched tonight. The two argued, and Cohen disappeared. Inside the bar, the protagonist recognized the dagger as a kind gift from Yara, finally realizing that Yara truly wanted to be a good person.

Chapter 9: Marching Towards Destiny. On Red Square Street, two major gangs clash, and a killer meets another killer. Brotherhood leader Morris gathers his men and notices something strange about the place, suggesting the presence of an air mage. He decides to retreat. Elsewhere, the protagonist negotiates with Yara, resorting to favors. Ultimately, he must shoulder all responsibility and protect his companions.

Chapter 10, Yara's Knife (Part 1). Red Square Street is littered with corpses. The Brotherhood has been ambushed, and defeat is inevitable. Yara leads the protagonist there, where they encounter a Blood Bottle Gang sentry, none other than Spin, the man who caused Quaid's dramatic change in character. Yara engages Spin, but is recognized by him, and she chooses to kill him. Unexpectedly, Spin possesses the ability to resurrect, but is ultimately slain by a mysterious figure. [Commentary]

His deputy Rick, who is very ambitious and intelligent, designed a plot to trap and kill his boss, but inadvertently involved a series of power struggles among the top leaders.

Two major gangs are locked in a bloody battle, and the police department is unable to control the situation. A young security captain dreams of governing the city. A beautiful female bartender, driven by love, is determined to escort the protagonist to Hongfang Street, even at the cost of exposing her family's identity.

The book is full of plots, both explicit and subconscious, with chronological, flashback, and interpolated narratives interwoven freely, and multiple camera angles switching back and forth, showcasing the author's superb writing skills and command of the text. He piece together the complex story of the otherworldly darkness, decay, cruelty, and struggle for survival, tearing it apart before the reader's eyes bit by bit.

This book actually had the potential to go further, but it was defeated by the update. Not every book can become a big hit like "The Son-in-Law".

Moreover, because the style is too dark and realistic, it is not suitable for heavy publicity, and the category is unpopular fantasy.

Based on the above, this author has no hope of becoming a god. Unless he updates regularly or creates a pseudonym and writes without thinking.
