Chapter 3 Fire Rabbit and Knight

Chapter 3 Fire Rabbit and Knight

Liz is the captain of the Knights of Sandstone.

Before arriving in Sandstone Town, Loren already had his own squad of knights.

As the son of an earl, he can choose a mid-ranking knight as his personal bodyguard.

Liz was the knight captain personally chosen by Loren.

For no other reason than that Liz was the only female knight captain.

At first, Loren did have bad intentions, but after witnessing Liz's strength, he immediately became docile.

He only dares to bully ordinary people.

After Loren arrived in Sandstone, Liz escorted him with a six-person knight squad and then stayed in Sandstone to work.

She was ordered by the Earl to protect Loren and safeguard the territory.

As for the bad things Loren did, although she was ashamed of them, she had no right to interfere.

Led by the Knights, Loren found Liz, who was leading a patrol.

"Captain Liz, I have a mission I'd like to ask for your help with."

Liz frowned slightly. "What are your orders, Lord?"

Liz would ignore any missions involving the abduction of women.

Anyway, it wasn't the first or second time she had disobeyed orders.

Loren asked, "At dusk, magical beasts will appear in the carrot fields. I hope you can lead the team to kill the beasts and protect the farmland."

“Warcraft?” Liz asked seriously. “My lord, is this true? This is no laughing matter.”

"Absolutely true!"

As the sun was about to set, Loren led his knight squad to Carrot Village to wait.

Liz didn't really believe Loren's story.

Monsters are rarely seen in Sandstone Town. Only in winter do some monsters come to the farmland to cause trouble, which gives the farmers a real headache.

The fields ravaged by monsters will require a lot of effort to manage next year.

Despite her disbelief, she still had to come along.

The fear is that if monsters actually appear, and if they are not dealt with in time, it will not only affect the farmers' harvest, but also indirectly affect the lord's income.

For a knight, that would be dereliction of duty.

The knights, as Loren had instructed, hid in the shadows and waited.

There was still no movement in the carrot field until the sun went down.

Liz breathed a sigh of relief.

Was it really just a prank?

Well, at least this time no innocent people were harmed.

"Lord Lord..."

Shh! Look!

Look in the direction Loren is pointing.

The knights saw three fire rabbits hopping and skipping into the field.

They are larger than ordinary wild rabbits, and their fur is reddish.

"Catch them all! Don't let them escape!"

The fire rabbits were about to search for unripe carrots in the fields when the knights swarmed in.

Liz remained hidden in the shadows, wary of her surroundings.

Six knights are more than enough to deal with three fire rabbits.

She had to stay and protect Loren to prevent any accidents from happening.

Startled, the three fire rabbits spat out fireballs one after another.

If an ordinary person were hit by a fireball, they would be seriously injured, if not killed.

The six knights showed no fear.

The novice knights already possessed basic battle aura, and with their superb swordsmanship and martial arts skills, they successfully captured three fire rabbits.

After this battle, Loren clearly felt the gap between ordinary people and knights.

This is only a novice knight; the strength of mid- to high-ranking knights is even more exaggerated.

Above the higher ranks are Earth Knights, Sky Knights, and even the legendary Dragon Knights.

The Earth Knight alone can destroy a city.

The Sky Knight alone can withstand an army of thousands.

Dragon Knights were unheard of.

Dragons are even rarer than dragon spirits; most people never even see a dragon, let alone conquer one.

After capturing the fire rabbit, Liz looked at Loren with curiosity.

"My lord, how did you know that magical beasts would appear today?"

Loren smiled mysteriously, "Because I can foresee the future." Liz was taken aback, then smiled helplessly.

Of course, she wouldn't believe Loren's nonsense.

If Loren could truly foresee the future, Sandstone Town would never have ended up in this state.

"Captain Liz, if I start training tomorrow, will I still have a chance to become a powerful knight?"

Liz looked surprised. "Of course there's a chance, provided you can persevere."

Many nobles begin learning knight breathing techniques and cultivating battle aura from childhood.

However, very few people can stick with it all the time.

To become a powerful knight, one needs not only outstanding talent, but also persistent effort.

"If you wish to train, I can send someone to help you develop a training plan."

“No need.” Loren waved his hand. “Sherry can help me.”

Liz's lips moved slightly, but she ultimately said nothing.

She thought to herself that given how much Miss Xuefu disliked Loren, she probably wouldn't even bother to say a word to him, so how could she possibly guide Loren's training?

However, given Loren's personality, it's probably just a passing fancy, and he'll give up after a few days of practice.

Sandstone Castle.

After finishing her training, Xuefu noticed that the servants hadn't called her for dinner yet.

She went outside and asked the maid, "Is dinner not ready yet?"

The maid explained, "The lord said not to rush to cook tonight, as he will bring back a few wild rabbits."

Xuefu recalled what Loren had said that afternoon and felt it was utterly absurd.

Could that guy really be planning to capture a magical beast?
What nonsense!

Just then, a commotion came from outside the castle.

Xuefu went downstairs and found it was Loren.

Two knights followed behind him, one of whom was carrying three fire rabbits.

Xuefu stared wide-eyed in surprise.

Loren actually caught a monster!
Did he not lie?
Did Warcraft really wreak havoc on the farms today?

Loren ordered the kitchen to roast three fire rabbits.

Two knights were given as a reward for capturing the fire rabbit.

He and Xuefu shared the remaining one.

This fire rabbit weighs about 20 pounds; half of it is definitely enough to eat.

Xuefu stared at the half-eaten roasted rabbit on the dining table, unable to calm down for a long time.

She couldn't contain her curiosity any longer, "How did you know that monsters were causing trouble in the farmland today?"

"you guess."

Loren picked up half a rabbit and started gnawing on it; the rabbit meat was indeed delicious!
Xuefu couldn't guess the answer.

She began to enjoy this rare dinner.

Even in the past, she rarely had the opportunity to eat fire rabbit meat.

Monsters are not ordinary livestock; they are difficult to raise artificially, and you can only buy two if you are lucky.

"I really didn't expect you to actually catch a fire rabbit, and I certainly didn't expect you to share the rabbit meat with others," Xuefu exclaimed.

She had assumed that Loren would definitely keep all the rabbit meat.

If you can't finish it today, you can eat it tomorrow.

Even she might not get a share of rabbit meat, let alone the knights.

"After all, they are the main force in catching fire rabbits. What if they abandon their duties and leave if we don't send them to different locations?"

"They're all qualified knights, why are they so stingy?"

However, even the most loyal knights will gradually accumulate resentment.

If Loren continues to exploit them, even the most loyal knights may betray him.

After dinner, Loren reminded him, "Get some rest early tonight, and get up early tomorrow to help me with something."

Xuefu asked curiously, "What kind of help?"

Loren chuckled, "It's a secret!"

Xuefu quietly clenched her fist.

With his constant "guess" and "it's a secret," she really wanted to punch him twice.

In the past, she wouldn't have bothered with Loren.

But now, she found herself feeling a glimmer of hope.

Hopefully, Loren can really surprise her...
