Chapter 140 Secret
"It seems like these people from the Empire are hiding something from us?" Blue Sparrow sat on a bench with her arms crossed, crossing her long legs.

“So what? We have nothing! So what does it have to do with us?” Ray Adas didn’t want to get involved or delve into what these empires were trying to do.

He felt that his life was good now, with Hea by his side every day. It really felt like the life of an ordinary human being.

He went to the laboratory every day to fulfill the various experimental requests of the Imperial researchers. He even encountered his Heya there!
He felt incredibly happy to be able to come home after get off work and see the meals Heya had prepared for him!

But the only thing that bothered him was...

The white-haired Gureed would come to chat with Hea almost every morning or evening. He could tell what the guy was up to almost instantly.

That wretched guy, don't let him catch him, or he'll be in big trouble!
"What's wrong, little Edas! Don't you want to go out and live a happier, more peaceful life with your mother?" Blue Sparrow teased from the side. To be honest, she came to see Ray Edas not to flirt with him, but to tell him something else.

“These past few days, I’ve noticed the Imperial guards are increasing their surveillance on us. They’ve also suspended much of our weapons research! Now, Hea and I, and all the other scientists, are drastically reducing our daily workload!” Blue Sparrow said, walking over and sitting beside him, her elbow draped over his shoulder, leaning against Ray Edas. Her delicate lips exhaled the aroma of wine, and she glared at her male comrades, her eyes red with anger. “Now, we’re all living off your special qualities!”

Ray Edas put down the dumbbells in his hand and turned to look at her with some confusion. "Is it because I was once the holder of the nanocore?" He really couldn't understand why it would be like this.
It's worth noting that others like him include Greed, Hela, and Torrig, who is essentially a finished product!

Leaving aside Torrig, just considering Gred and Hela, which one of them isn't stronger than him, and which one of them didn't take longer to fuse with the nano core?

So he was puzzled as to why they came to him.

“That’s right!” Blue Sparrow gave an affirmative answer, but seeing that Ray Edas was about to speak again, she raised her delicate hand to interrupt him from asking any further questions.

“I know you’re thinking of Greed, Hela… and probably Torrig!” Blue Sparrow paused, lowering her hand, then shook her head, rubbing her forehead, and sighed. “To be honest, I don’t understand why the people in the Empire specifically named you for their nanotechnology experiments!” She looked up, her face full of curiosity, her eyes searching and probing. “It’s like they’re certain you hold some enormous secret!”

Ray Edas fell into deep thought, a sudden sense of fear creeping into his heart. The ordinary days were incredibly precious and blissful for him!

But now some unstable signs have emerged. Could it be that things will turn out the same as before?

Did he and Hea part ways and ultimately experience a life-or-death separation?
He wouldn't agree to that!
“Aunt Bluebird! I feel pretty happy with my life now! I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it!” Ray Edas picked up the dumbbells again and started exercising.

"No, no, no! Rui!" Blue Sparrow shook her head and waved her hand, saying, "I'm not asking you to fight them! I'm just curious, what kind of secret do you possess that makes those people from the Empire so fascinated?"

……

The members of the Man-Eating Shark Squad looked down at the empty valley, with strange rocks standing on both sides, without a single flower, grass, or tree.

The engines behind them gradually reduced their power. Their power boots slammed onto the sandy ground!
Each person clutched their explosive pistol, vigilantly observing their surroundings to prevent a repeat of the previous sneak attack!
"The soil and rock structure here is chaotic. Despite the many strange plants on the outside, it's turned into a desolate wasteland here!" An Astartes crouched down, pinching a handful of soil and rocks. The extremely dry stones crumbled into fine powder with a gentle squeeze, flowing like a waterfall from between his fingers. "It's probably all related to the so-called World Tree inside the valley! If we can bring it out intact, perhaps the captain's problem can be solved!" Lumir stepped forward, a ruthless glint in his eyes as he looked at the winding valley passage.

These damned members of the opposite sex are absolutely outrageous!

"Let's go, don't delay any longer! Otherwise, the commander's condition might get worse!" Lumir looked at the passage ahead and reminded his brothers to hurry up and move.

“Alright!” One of the brothers nodded and stepped forward. “I’ve already contacted the Mechanicus on orbit to have them come down and provide support.” As he spoke, the nano-core armor inside his helmet automatically displayed the current time. “Their support should arrive at the commander’s location in a few minutes!”

“Yes! Let’s move forward!” Lumir nodded, and the group followed him, advancing quickly. For the Astartes, there was no need for them to move slowly and silently, with guns drawn, like ordinary people!
The group moved quickly, even starting the engine and leaping up some steep slopes.

As they got closer to the center of the mountain, their intuition, honed by years of combat experience, made them feel increasingly that a gaze was watching them.

"It seems we're getting closer and closer to there!"

"Everyone, get ready!"

The sound of the bolts being pulled as the silver fell rang out among the brothers, some even drawing their chainsaw swords. The engine exhausts on their backs opened, glowing with a faint blue light, ready to carry them into the air.

The enemy may not be very strong, but their ranged attacks are powerful enough that they have to be on guard!

Moreover, they knew nothing about the so-called World Tree. What if it was a sentient being capable of action?
What if a thick tree branch comes at them and wipes them all out?
After all, such cases do exist; let's not even talk about chaos. Just consider the numerous bizarre alien creatures within the Ghoul Starfield!

Damn it, even the Primarch might meet his end in the Northwest. Even an Emperor wouldn't fare well if he came!

呲——

But suddenly, at that moment, the familiar attack struck again. Everyone was prepared; the engines roared to life, propelling them away from their original positions. The attack struck the spot, creating an even more terrifying scene.

“Their weapons have become more powerful!” Lumir said, glancing at the direction from which the attack had come. In the distance stood a nanotech soldier, in front of him a semi-phantom-shaped, four-sided prism-shaped railgun made of nanoparticles!
He had no idea what it was!
However, its formidable power has been deeply imprinted in their minds!

Then several more terrifying attacks came. Everyone dodged, but the attacks hit the mountain and caused the entire mountain to shake, with rocks rolling down and smoke rising.

The scene looked like the end of the world!
