Kobold Wizard's Journal

Chapter 103 Lies and Truth

Chapter 103 Lies and Truth

Edgar smiled and exchanged a few pleasantries, then began to lead the way himself.

Ruger, his face covered, smiled as he strolled behind, admiring the castle's scenery. It was clear the Findis family had put considerable thought into this rather small castle. Edgar seemed delighted to see him admiring it.

Led by Edgar, the two stopped in front of a huge relief mural.

"This mural predates this castle. It originally stood in our ancestral home, depicting the deeds of our ancestors when they founded the city. At the time, thirteen powerful noble families joined the Fanxing family in the pioneering war. My ancestor was merely a mercenary captain from the Abyssal Cave District. He made friends widely and rallied the forces of dozens of mercenary groups to participate in the pioneering war. This is the scene of our ancestor slaying the beast Findis, which is how our family got its name. That pioneering war was unexpectedly difficult. By the end of the war, only five of the thirteen noble families remained. That was our Findis family's opportunity..."

Edgar slowed down his pace and passed through the wide and long mural like a scroll. He spoke passionately in a simple voice in front, and Ruger listened with great interest in the back.

The two gradually went deeper into the castle.

It seemed that we were delayed on the road for a while, the evening light had already slipped away, and the castle looked very dark at this moment.

"Mr. Ruge, we are just ahead. Everyone is looking forward to your arrival." Edgar said with a smile.

"I wonder when the lady will leave?" said Ruger.

"Maybe tomorrow, or the next day, the gentleman might have something else to do," said Edgar.

As they were talking, they came to a spacious hall with lamps embedded on the wall. Some waiters and people in twos and threes were chatting inside.

Edgar strode forward, raised his hands and clapped them, drawing everyone's attention.

"Welcome, our Lord Luger!"

Edgar said loudly, and then quickly came to Luger's side.

"Sir Luger," he said in a low voice, "I'll excuse myself for a moment. I'll go and inform that lord and will be back soon."

Ruger smiled and nodded. In the distance, many people saluted him from a distance.

Edgar quickly ascended the side staircase and reached the second floor of the hall. Most of this spacious hall reached up to the high dome, and another part was divided into two floors. The melodious and soothing music came from several performers on the second floor.

Ruger was too lazy to chat with those people, so he just found a place to sit down. Those people seemed to be very considerate, and no one came over to chat with him.

A waiter came over and brought him eight drinks for him to choose from, one of which was fluorescent pink.

"What's this green thing?" Ruger asked, pointing to a cup.

"Sir, this is Green Moon wine," the waiter said nervously.

"Is it made of a green moon?" Ruger joked.

"Your Excellency, it's a kind of insect paste. First, the insects must be infected with a kind of mycelium. After they are successfully raised, a little bit can be taken out from the tentacles of each insect. Then it is paired with the fermented Huiyue berry crumbs unique to Shuangyue City..." The waiter spoke at a steady pace, and gradually became less nervous.

"What about this glowing one?"

"This is garnished with a small amount of blood from a special underground beast. This beast blood has a unique spicy taste. The main ingredient is still mushroom wine, but the mushroom species is extremely special..."

After listening for a moment, Ruger found it interesting and simply let him keep everything.

He thought to himself that even if he couldn't drink it, he could put it in the abyss bedroom space and let Aisijin and the others taste it.

The waiter was visibly stunned when he heard this request, but he quickly recovered. During this time, some new people arrived at the cocktail party.

But no one came to disturb him.

Luger was very happy to see this scene.

He finally picked up the glass of pink glowing wine. Since the waiter said the main ingredient was still a kind of mushroom wine, he would of course choose this one. He had a very good impression of both the crying mushroom wine and the sour mushroom wine.

He put the remaining seven cups directly into the abyss bedroom space.

As soon as he raised the wine glass to his lips, he found that the newcomers were staring at him, which made him very unhappy. In fact, since a while ago, although these people did not come forward to say hello, they always looked at him when chatting.

Suddenly, the music stopped.

Edgar's figure appeared on the second floor of the hall.

Ruger looked up beside him for the figure of the female wizard apprentice, but unfortunately he didn't see her.

"Everyone, I want to tell you a story, a story about a wild wizard and a liar. A despicable, ugly and rude wild wizard who used despicable means to deceive the guests of the Findis family, deceived the kind wizard from the upper realm, and also deceived me, bringing shame to the Findis family with a long history."

As Edgar spoke, the heavy door of the hall slowly closed.

“No one can be rude to the distinguished guests of the Findis family, and no one can bring shame to the Findis family.”

Edgar continued speaking as if it was a line from a play he had to finish, but it was obvious that his honest voice was destined to make his performance seem clumsy.

"Now, this damned liar has arrived," Edgar paused and said with a smile, "Honorable Lord Ruge, I wonder if you know this wild wizard who has brought shame to the Findis family? It is said that he looks like those stinky dog-headed men."

"Oh? Then Sir Edgar, how did you know that he was a wild wizard?" Ruger still sat in his original position, holding a wine glass in one hand, and said with a smile.

"Are you going to deceive me again, Mr. Ruge?" Edgar replied in a deep voice.

Luger just smiled and said, "I remember that I solemnly reminded you in the arena not to talk nonsense. I am really just a wild wizard."

Had Edgar gone to all this trouble simply to get revenge on him? Just to get revenge on a wild wizard who had disgraced him?
Ruger doesn't think so.

It's ridiculous that the other party even brought up family honor.

This guy, whose only characteristic was his honest voice, was just looking for a far-fetched reason to kill him.

The only one who could clearly identify him as a wild wizard was Lorigo Stars. But the young master of the Stars family would not, and had no reason to, go to such great lengths to find a way to kill him.

He thought positively, that is, Master Lorigo must have revealed some information when trying to get a ferry ticket to the wizarding realm for him, and let someone who wanted to kill him know it.

Otherwise, given the seriousness with which Edgar and the others treated the visitor from the Wizarding Domain that day, they would never have dared to act rashly against him without knowing his background.

"You deserve to die." Edgar seemed very angry.

Ruger looked indifferent as he looked at the people around him. Many of these people should be in the supernatural realm, or perhaps all of them should be. And if Edgar is really just a little guy who does things for others as speculated, then there may be supernatural people here who are beyond Edgar's ability.
