Kobold Wizard's Journal

Chapter 105 Rage and Redemption

Chapter 105 Rage and Redemption

In his rage, he seemed to have undergone some strange changes. For example, the spell that had paralyzed him before no longer had any effect on him.

He was enjoying losing his sanity and transforming into a wild beast that had broken out of its cage.

The dragonborn kobold body transformed by the blood of a different dragon possessed excellent self-healing abilities, which was also one of the reasons he relied on to conduct this reckless experiment. Since the demonic body had shown this tendency, he would take this opportunity to see what kind of impact it would bring.

Even before the shadow cage was broken, someone had already started to escape. The moment Ruger rushed out of the cage, he instinctively rushed towards the person who was running towards the door.

Suddenly, a fatal sense of crisis made Ruger instinctively retreat madly. As he retreated, he watched the prey that was about to be caught move away from him. The anger in his chest suddenly surged like a substance, and the anger filled every drop of blood, every nerve, and even every hair in his body.

He found that he might have gone a little too far, and this sudden change made him unable to control his anger.

Everyone nearby who didn't have time to run away became his target for venting his anger.

He pounded his hands on the castle ground, trying to calm himself down.

"Mr. Powerful Demon Wizard, please extinguish your anger before things become serious."

A skinny old man wearing a silver-striped stand-up collar and holding a glowing stone in one hand appeared at the closed main entrance of the hall.

It was the small glowing stone in the old man's hand that made Ruger's spirit feel threatened by death.

"You... are threatening me?" Ruger twisted his neck and his voice was hoarse.

Anger burned in his brain, and after seeing that the old man had no strong ill intentions, he subconsciously used the first form of the long-lost stinking skin. For a moment, a strong stench spread, and he seemed to have turned into a legendary stinking demon. The stench was like a spark of flame, rolling and shaking around him along with the anger in his heart. Although the speed of the spreading stench was not fast, it had the momentum to fill the entire hall.

Edgar's head, with a shocked look in his eyes, was thrown out by the old man and rolled to the ground at Ruger's feet.

The old man did not explain much about this, but raised the glowing stone in his hand.

"The wizard has a beautiful name for it, but we prefer to call it the Sunstone. Only a few of them were bestowed upon the city by the wizard at its founding, and they were divided equally among the founding families. It is our sacred object and represents infinite authority," said the skinny old man. "It can mobilize the power of the Lightstone in the dome of Starry City, bringing down irresistible punishment. Therefore, it is extremely precious, and I don't want to waste it here."

"You can try," Luger said hoarsely.

"Your Excellency's strength is something we did not anticipate. This is the fault of the Findis family, and I believe we have paid the price."

The old man spoke slowly, shaking his head, as if he was uncomfortable with the pervasive stench.

"Besides, this matter is not led by the Findis family. You should go back and ask your friend from the Starry Family..."

The old man's words hit the nail on the head with Ruger's previous guess.

Ruger's anger inexplicably surged, and the color of the spiral marks on his body that had been found for a long time gradually darkened.

Two smiling people, a man and a woman, walked out of the darkness, seemingly without fear, and walked towards the furious Luger step by step.

"Why is there a redeemer here?!"

The old man holding the light stone exclaimed.

"Finally lost my mind..." said the grinning man.

"You're really strong. Your concentrated mental strength is really annoying." The smiling woman scolded.

"Yeah, it's disgusting. It drains my spirit."

Both of them were still smiling while talking, and did not turn around to pay attention to the old man from the Findis family.

Luger suddenly adjusted the stinking skin back to its second form.

"Salvation!"

"Redemption."

The two smiling people continued to move closer step by step.

"We are here to help you and grant you salvation." The two said in unison.

Ruger was consumed by rage and on the verge of losing his mind. He suddenly threw punch after punch, knocking the smiling man to the ground until he was broken into two pieces. The man kept smiling, and the more Ruger punched him, the angrier he became.

Both guys were knocked to the ground by him. With one slap, their mouths and noses disappeared. With another punch, their eyes also disappeared.

Luger suddenly froze in place. He let out a long breath and found himself in a mental space, where he regained his composure.

"Finally in! Your spiritual space is so beautiful!"

“No wonder it’s so solid.”

Two slightly illusory smiling figures appeared on the surface of his mental power.

Ruger regained his composure and quickly went over the matter in his mind.

"What are you going to do?" He looked at the two of them calmly.

"Save you!"

"Wash away your sins."

The two of them said with a smile.

"I am not guilty and I don't need to be saved by anyone," Ruger said with a smile.

Ruger's words seemed to annoy the two men, and directly made the two guys who had been smiling all the time stop smiling.

"We could have granted salvation to many more people."

"But, to save you and cleanse your sins, we have all given up our bodies and our lives. This is our final mission, our final redemption."

The two guys started laughing again, and when they turned around, they turned into Ruger's faces, but the next moment the facial features were gone, and this repeated, changing back and forth many times every time they spoke a sentence.

As the two strange guys spoke, they began to float vertically upwards.

"From now on, you are me."

"I am you."

"You are also a Faceless Man."

"The Faceless One is also me."

"We are all faceless men."

The two of them chanted in unison, their bodies constantly changing back and forth.

Ruger looked at them, his heart somehow unfazed, his spirit unwavering. He pondered, perhaps it was because they were emanating a familiar aura. It was something the magic scar had drawn to him during his daily meditations. He had encountered a similar phenomenon the first time he went on a solo trip, collecting inheritance. It was a strange object that shattered at the touch of a finger, and after it shattered, it had penetrated his brain.

You will know the result after trying it.

He immediately began to meditate in order to recover his mental strength. He was different now. Three magic marks, each one bigger than the last, were arranged above his mental space.

Even if he wasn't meditating, the two guys had already shown signs of being attracted over, just like the spell models that were spinning around the magic scar.

Every time he used a spell in a temporary spell slot, he had a feeling that the projection of the spell model stored in it was eaten by the magic mark.

As the runes corresponding to the magic marks continued to be outlined, the two figures who were grinning and muttering incessantly suddenly became quiet.

Then, in Ruger's perception, they turned into countless fragments. Unlike the last time, they actually began to struggle and tried to escape in all directions.

Luger ignored it and just meditated.

All the fragments turned pale, gradually losing their strength, and were thrown into the magic scar. In the blink of an eye, all foreign objects disappeared.

Ruger was prepared to see all kinds of images like last time, but unfortunately there was nothing.

He opened his eyes suddenly.

The hall was still filled with a foul odor, and he still maintained the gesture of pounding his hands, but the anger in his heart had dissipated.

In the distance, an old man holding a light stone was observing him seriously.
