Kobold Wizard's Journal

Chapter 28 Journey and Soul

Chapter 28 Journey and Soul
Ruger sat sideways, touching the rock wall, lost in thought.

In this pitch-black world, everything seemed to be still, and gradually only the sound of his breathing remained. He subconsciously slowed down his breathing, and then he could hear his own heartbeat.

A drop of water fell from the ceiling of the cave.

It hit him in the face.

He raised his hand to stroke the water stains, and scratched the sparse and bald hair on his head. The movement pulled the wound on his left rib, making his lifeless eyes a little more lively.

He lived in the cave all day long, spending his days in a daze without seeing the sun. He didn't know how many days had passed, as if time had nothing to do with him. He only knew that he had been hungry many times, and had eaten many times, and sometimes he had to stay hungry all the time.

There was a sound of footsteps.

He saw a figure slightly shorter than him groping towards him in the darkness.

The man came up to him and started talking a lot, with obvious concern in his words.

Luger suppressed his sighs.

Look at the person coming.

The only lucky thing that happened to him during this period was that he happened to save the dog-headed man in front of him named Aisijin, a dog-headed girl who was slightly shorter than him.

Aisijin was one of the few dog-headed people he had met and with whom he could communicate.

"Brother Ruger, I knew you'd be here. Are you alright with your injuries?" The dog-headed girl, Aisijin, leaned in close, looking up at him, picking at her teeth with her fingernails as she spoke softly, "The master is already gathering men. He might be leading the tribe out hunting."

Ruger was stunned for a moment, supporting himself on the cave wall with one hand, and staggered to his feet.

"The Black Claw Saint's appetite has increased again." He sighed.

"It's not the Black Claw Master. The Black Claw Master... has become food and was swallowed by the new master in one gulp! Now we are following the more powerful Gray Long Neck Master, and he will definitely not be eaten easily." She spoke much better than before, almost fluently.

He leaned one shoulder against the cave wall and rolled his eyes at the words.

He likes to be alone on weekdays.

One is that you can get beaten less often, as the gnolls never hold back when it comes to swinging their fists at their own kind.

Second, he likes to enjoy the feeling of hunger alone. Hunger can be said to be an important part of every dog-headed man's life.

This time alone was not long.

I was only hungry once, but I didn't expect the dynasty to change. It sounds like the new follower might have a long neck.

Ai Sijin continued to bite her teeth with one hand, and spread out the other hand and held it in front of him.

"for you."

Ruger raised his eyebrows when he heard this, and had already guessed something in his mind.

He lowered his head and moved closer.

All I saw was a palm-sized piece of burnt meat, and from close up I could smell the fishy stench hidden under the burnt smell.

The kobold girl knew that he liked cooked food.

He looked up at Ai Sijin's other hand, where the nails she used to pick her teeth were shining softly and faintly.

"You eating those glowing mushrooms again?"

"No, I listened to you. I didn't eat too many mushrooms. I'll be fine. I'm very strong."

Ai Sijin patted her belly and extended her hand forward again.

He scratched the long hair near his ears. The dog-headed man's ears were almost at the back of his head, and he hadn't been used to it. He also noticed that he seemed to be getting a bit wormy lately.

A few stray hairs, scratched again and again.

The kobold girl raised her hands quietly.

"Half for each person."

He picked up the burnt but uncooked piece of meat, tore it apart with all his strength, and put half of it back into the palm of the dog-headed girl's hand.

Ai Sijin smiled and stuffed the meat into her mouth.

Ruger looked at her bulging cheeks, raised his hand to bite off a piece and chewed it hard, but his bald dog's face did not have the happy and satisfied smile that Ai Sijin had.

He swallowed the charred meat before he could chew it, and his stomach instantly felt much better. He sighed inwardly, "I can live for two more days."

It certainly felt bad to have to take the little food from the ogre girl every other meal, but he didn't want to starve to death.

He let out a long breath, and a sour smell came out.

Suddenly he frowned again.

An inexplicable feeling of déjà vu came over me.

He seemed to have scolded Ai Sijin for eating those shiny things.

"Brother Ruge, why don't you swallow it?" Aisijin said with a smile.

"I……"

He suddenly realized that the piece of meat was still in his mouth.

He spread his hands in front of him, opened his mouth and spit out, and it was indeed the piece of meat.

I heard that many old dog-headed people will experience this kind of brain problem when they are dying, and may even lose control and die while screaming and shouting.

Am I going to die too? He began to wonder.

But I'm not old! Even if I died, I died of starvation! Did I starve myself to death? And I haven't even become a wizard yet!

He was wailing in his heart, and suddenly he shuddered.

He looked down again.

What he held in his hand was no longer the piece of meat, but a round bead emitting a faint light.

The flickering light is so beautiful.

The surroundings gradually began to shake, and gradually turned into an earthquake.

He subconsciously stretched out his hand to protect Aisijin, but before he could complete the action halfway, everything disappeared.

He opened his eyes.

A hint of anger flashed in his eyes.

The world returned to peace, and the dripping sound in the distance continued.

Ruger lowered his head and looked at the round bead held in his fingertips and the cultivation bag on his waist that was vibrating violently.

"Thank you, little one, you can take a rest now." He patted the bag.

"Your mental strength is so weak, are you also a low-level wizard apprentice?"

He looked at the round beads in his hand and began to talk to himself like a fool.

"It's very dangerous for such a low-level apprentice to wander around. Did you grow up in a big city? Or one of those underground cities? The dangers of the underground world are beyond your imagination..."

"Are you really not going to say anything?"

"I encountered a snake a few days ago. That snake could use its spiritual power to speak."

As Ruge spoke, he had already completed the empowerment of two spell models. One was the spiritual boiling that could prevent any trouble before it happens, which could make him more alert, and also had the effect of slightly combating mental confusion. Then there was what he was doing right now. He was quietly leaving a secret mark on the bead as a mark.

"Rude guy!"

The orb emitted a wave of mental fluctuations filled with strong emotions, and the secret imprint failed.

Suddenly, a faint light shone, and the bead began to dart up and down. Ruger grabbed it with his hand and followed its darting movements. He had sensed it was about to flee, so he had intended to leave a mystical mark. Seeing that the situation was at an impasse, he quietly channeled the power of the wild bull.

"I'm an apprentice of the Ultimate Wizard, and yet you... you're actually a kobold! If I had known this would happen, I wouldn't have tried to induce dreams! It's a waste of my mental energy!"

When Yuanzhuzi was halfway through her words, her voice suddenly rose an octave, which pierced Ruger's heart.

Just as Ruge was about to curse back, he suddenly stopped, and Yuanzhu also stopped moving.

"My friend, you seem to be cracking."
