Kobold Wizard's Journal
Chapter 34 Strength and Tolerance
Chapter 34 Strength and Tolerance
When Ruger arrived running and stumbling, the snake catching was already over, or rather, it had not really begun yet.
A wizard apprentice was standing in front of Baonte. He was the first enthusiastic man who had left and greeted Ruger. The shrunken gray long-necked saint was lying motionless behind him, with several claws made of shadows tightly grasping the snake. But it was obvious that these strange claws were not the main reason for its motionlessness. Just a few claws were not enough to make it unable to struggle at all.
"We meet again, poor little fellow."
The enthusiastic man was still enthusiastic, but Ruger didn't dare to greet him. The situation was obviously not right.
"I really don't know what experiments your mentor is doing. I remember that those who have left their status as test subjects and become wizard apprentices will be listed under the name of the experiment host and called him mentor. This is really interesting, but why did they transform you into this, um... so rigorous, without any flaws. If it weren't for the fact that dog-headed people cannot become wizard apprentices, I would think you are a real dog-headed person." The enthusiastic man said as he looked Ruger up and down, completely ignoring Bayonte in front of him.
Baonte's fists kept expanding and contracting on both sides of his body, as if to prevent his hands from cramping, making a series of teeth-grinding crisp sounds.
"I caught this snake for you."
The enthusiastic man finally turned his head to face forward.
"Baonte, you've tried catching it several times but haven't succeeded. I wonder if you're sincerely thanking me right now?" the enthusiastic man said, laughing. "But as a good friend, it would be bad if I accidentally caused you trouble, so don't make any mistakes. It's best to confirm whether this is the one you've been chasing."
Ruger thought that Baont would be furious, but what he saw was that Baont's face gradually regained its composure, as if he was really facing an old friend who liked to joke.
"Am I right? 'Strength' Baonte, your nickname is still being spread among apprentices in different places, but we're just a group of fifth-level wizard apprentices. Don't act like you're some great wizard master with a spell sequence. I've even seen them arguing. Some say you're amazingly tolerant when faced with difficulties, while others say you never tolerate anything."
The strange claws made of shadows began to wriggle, bringing the motionless gray-white snake to the side of the enthusiastic man, coiling around his body little by little, from his neck to his armpits and then to his waist.
The enthusiastic man held the snake's head with one hand and let the tail on the other side slide to the ground, as if he was wearing a long snake half armor.
"Now let me tell you. Listen carefully and make sure this is the snake you're after. I hope I didn't catch the wrong one by accident."
The man looked at Baonte with anticipation in his eyes.
"This snake... I think... it's obviously related to that little bug man. Look at its head, its tail, and every scale. Am I right, my friend?" He smiled, fiddling with the snake's head. "Haha, okay! Although I can't tell anything, when facing the mission from Master Wizard Nitli, at such a tense moment, you always chase after this snake. This makes me suspicious."
After a brief silence.
He spoke again: "Now answer me, my friend, is this the snake you have been chasing?"
The silence remained. Ruger looked around, quietly took half a step back, and then another half step. No one present seemed to care about him, which was a good thing.
In fact, he was also very curious about why Baonte was chasing the Gray Long-Neck Saint. It couldn't be that he was chasing the Gray Long-Neck Saint just to eat snake soup, so he kept forcing it into this state.
He thought carefully about the things that happened during this period. The only thing that seemed to match was the time when the Gray Long-Neck Saint appeared, which might be about the same time when this group of wizard apprentices arrived in this area. But this did not mean anything. There was no useful information worth pondering.
And the Gray Long-Neck Saint had secretly told him to stay away, which seemed to be a warning to him.
Suddenly, another person who had never been seen before walked out from a side passage and blocked Ruger's way of retreat. Of course, this person was most likely trying to block Baonte's retreat, and Ruger was just a by-product.
"Only those who know how to share secrets can be good friends, Baonte." said the person who was blocking the road behind.
"Just the two of you? Wasting my time."
Baonte finally spoke, his tone unusually calm.
Seeing that he had no way out, Ruger immediately leaned against the wall. A fifth-level wizard apprentice was still within the scope of using zero-ring spells. The ones in front of him might be more powerful, but it was still the same. Therefore, in Kalu's diary, as a low-level apprentice, he would become the primary target of attack if he was involved in similar things.
In other words, if a conflict occurs, first deal with the small garbage that may affect the situation. That's roughly what it means.
Bang!
As Ruger expected, Bayonte would choose to take action, but his target was the person blocking the retreat.
This also created an opportunity for Ruger. He used the power of the wild bull and rushed after the fifth-level apprentice brother. The brother beat people, and he looked for opportunities to escape.
A little kobold can't cause big trouble.
This is his creed.
As he ran, he threw back some bottles and jars that he had collected from his previous inheritance, as well as disgusting and useless potions, and for a moment, a thick green fog filled the air.
The fog was rolling behind him. He had already rushed out with his eldest brother, and while running, he fired a long-brewing freezing ray into the thick fog behind him.
When he turned around, the guy who was blocking the road had been knocked away by Baonte's fist in an instant. There seemed to be an invisible force wrapped in the fist. The man was already flying in the air before it hit him. Then he was hit in the body by a punch. Just when he thought Baonte would take advantage of the victory and pursue him.
Baonte suddenly turned around and passed him, seemingly not noticing his surprised expression, and rushed directly into the cave filled with green mist.
It seems that the snake is really important to this guy, Luger thought.
He kept moving, unleashing the power of Foul Skin, and simultaneously energizing the Magic Skin spell model, casting the spell immediately after energizing it. The guy who had been beaten away by Baonte earlier was most likely a Level 5 wizard apprentice, and he wasn't about to challenge him.
Although, he also wanted to try whether he could take the opportunity to deal with a fifth-level apprentice, and wanted to see what effect the inexplicably changed smelly skin would have on a normal fifth-level wizard apprentice with a body.
But his cautious nature prevented him from taking such a risky move.
Unless it is unavoidable, like now.
A staggering figure stood up and looked at him, just a glance, and then suddenly rushed towards the place where the green mist was.
However, in this passage which was spacious enough to host a large barbecue party, the figure passing by and crossing paths with him from the other side actually casually cast a spell at him. It was called a spell because it was extremely fast. In an instant, scorching heat hit his face, and more than twenty fist-sized fire bombs flew towards him. The momentum and the coverage had blocked all his escape routes.
The scene of himself becoming a broken man flashed through his mind in an instant.
The person who was passing by and casually threw down a spell and was about to rush past seemed to be in a bad mood at this time.
