Chapter 52 Teacher and Student

Ruger's eyes widened in disbelief. He immediately gave himself a boiling spirit and concentrated his mind to try to open the space door again.

You know, this is something he practices every day. Even if he can't say how much progress he has made, he can at least be considered proficient in it.

But this time only a small dark red hole appeared.

He took a look at it and saw that it was only slightly bigger than his fist. This was the result of his last effort.

Boom boom boom!
"Master, I'm coming in! Please forgive my rudeness."

The voice outside the door spoke politely, but to Ruger, it sounded like a death curse.

In a panic, he took out that half of his face and shook it back and forth in his hand.

However, no matter how he communicated with words or shook it desperately, the half-human half of the face showed no response, and in the end he had no choice but to take it back in disappointment.

creak-

The door was slowly pushed open, bringing up a breeze that blew half of the aging quilt on the bed.

"Master."

An old man in a black suit appeared at the door.

Ruger stared motionlessly at the figure at the door, staring at the possible movements he might make, and ten thousand ways for the dog-headed man to die flashed through his mind.

"Master, how can you dress like this?"

The old man clapped his hands as he spoke, and the wardrobe in the corner of the room seemed to be controlled by an invisible hand. The doors opened one by one, but only one was normal. The rest of the doors fell to the ground after opening, but fortunately, a row of clothes inside were exposed, which meant they had completed their mission.

The clothes floated over, and Ruger didn't dare to move. He just watched the clothes being put on him one by one. Unfortunately, the clothes broke as they were put on, and in the end, only a few pieces of cloth were hanging on his body.

"Master, please follow me."

The old man bowed gently, stood up with beautiful arm guidance movements, and then walked out first. His movements were standard and neat but he did not seem impatient.

Ruger looked at the window behind him, weighed the pros and cons rationally, then turned around and followed.

The corridor outside was not completely dark. Every few steps, there were crystals emitting milky white light inlaid alternately on the walls on both sides. He looked around curiously. These unknown crystals, like the things in the room, were also broken.

The old man was walking upright in the middle of the front corridor. Each step was standard, his back straight and his stride even.

After looking at the crystals on both sides, Ruger looked at the wall and the road under his feet. He even bent down quickly to touch them. The stones were regular and uniform in size, and the edges had been polished extremely smooth by the years.

Judging from the size of the corridor, one can already imagine the enormity of this building.

The old man who led the way was thin, but his movements were quick and powerful, and his footsteps made regular and crisp sounds in the corridor.

They walked along the way with only the two of them. They never saw another person in the rooms they passed or the roads they took.

"Here we are, Master."

The old man led him to a corner and pushed open a door.

“Please be careful.”

The old man said this slowly and quietly, then stepped back half a step to make room.

Ruger looked at the spacious room behind the door, and then looked at the old man beside him. This was the first time he looked at the old man who had always made him feel terrified at such a close distance.

The old man noticed his gaze and lowered his head slightly, with his neck at an angle that made him feel humble but not ugly.

Ruger kept trying to calm his frightened heart.

But when he saw the old man's eyes without whites, his little heart still skipped a beat or two, indicating that he refused to be comforted.

Luger stepped into the room and felt the door slowly close behind him.

This room was three times the size of the previous bedroom, with three sets of empty tables and chairs, and a lone figure standing waiting.

He hesitated, listening to the old man's footsteps receding outside the door, and reached behind his back to grab the door handle.

He pushed twice, pulled twice, but it still didn't open. He tried to calm down for a moment and stepped forward cautiously.

This room is covered with carpet, which is well preserved and not torn into pieces.

As he walked, he glanced at the figure in the distance with his back to him. The room was not very bright, but it was illuminated by magical crystals, but in warm colors, which also had both advantages and disadvantages.

These scenes that shouldn't appear in the abyss frightened him but also made him extremely curious.

He stopped a few steps away. The insufficient warm light made the waiting figure look sallow.

He was nervous. He was so close, but the man still didn't respond.

It's more distressing than the overbearing old guide.

Hesitating whether to say a few words in the poor Abyssal language.

After waiting for a moment, he mustered up the courage to move forward, first two steps, then two more.

Suddenly, he discovered something and took a big step sideways, looking at the thin figure of the waiting person from another angle. It turned out to be a standing mummy. The shriveled figure could no longer be identified as male or female, and the clothes had stuck to the body into one.

Suddenly, the mummy twisted, but it seemed to be very difficult.

"You are late, my dear student."

The mummy was so excited that there was a tear on its jaw and cheek, but the actual words were spread out through its mental power.

"It's three hundred years late—"

The mummy teacher seemed to be full of resentment, grievances and endless humiliation. His mental power trembled and emitted complex fluctuations, all of which mixed together and brewed into a feeling of resentment.

Ruger retreated back with a wronged look on his face, hiding behind a table.

There are no windows here, let alone a decent shelter.

He couldn't get a word in at all and didn't know what to do. He could only cast a magic skin spell at the right time to prevent himself from being exposed.

If he could get back alive, maybe he should ask for more money from half the people, he thought.

At the same time, I tried to open the space door again, but it still didn't work.

The old corpse's chaotic mental fluctuations continued for a while, and then gradually calmed down.

It was quiet for a while, with no other movement.

Luger tried to stick his head out.

Unexpectedly, the skinny teacher had already turned around and was looking straight at the place where he was hiding without saying a word.

The silent stare lasted for an inexplicable length of time.

Although the other person's eyeballs were shriveled and his eye sockets were sunken, Ruger knew that he was looking at him carefully.

"You are intelligent, right? Tell me quickly, tell me that you are a smart guy." Although the old corpse was urging, he was no longer as manic as before. After calming down, his voice sounded like a cold female voice.

"I think my brain is still okay." Ruger replied in Abyssal language.

The other party seemed to be relieved, and there was a hint of joy in his mental fluctuations.

"I've finally waited for you!"

The old corpse, who had calmed down, suddenly laughed wildly for a while before regaining his composure.

"I'm sorry, but you should understand. That old man is crazy. He's trapped me here for three hundred years, a full three hundred years, just to wait for a student who doesn't exist. I haven't left this room for three hundred years. I can only rely on special methods to put myself into a deep sleep, to reduce energy consumption by letting my soul quiet down, and at the same time to prevent myself from going completely crazy!"

The old corpse raised his arm as he spoke, but only a few crumbs fell off.

"You... also came here by mistake?" said Ruge.

"You'll help me, won't you, little weird-looking devil?" the old corpse said. "Let's work together and leave."
