Journey to the West: Cultivation Begins at Jindou Mountain

Chapter 133: Meeting the Master and Acting According to Your Heart

Chapter 133: Meeting the Master and Acting According to Your Heart

Taoist Guanghui and Guangwu sat on Rotten Peach Mountain for a long time. As usual, the three brothers sat under the peach tree, eating spiritual fruits, playing chess and drinking tea.

It was not until the evening that Taoist Guanghui and Guangwu said goodbye and left together.

Niu Yi looked at the peach tree spiritual roots around him. These peach trees had been nourished by the Dao rhyme of the Earth Path for five years, and now they had all turned into blue-grade peach tree spiritual roots, which were very different from before.

Niu Yi casually picked a pink peach from the tree, put it to his mouth, took a bite, and said with a smile:
"It tastes really good, but the local water and soil nurture the local spiritual roots. Even though they are both spiritual peaches, the taste of the spiritual peaches from Jindou Mountain and the spiritual peaches from Rotten Peach Mountain are still a little different."

Niu Yi ate a few bites of the spiritual peach, took the peach core in his hand and threw it into an open space, watching the land quickly swallow the peach core.

Rotten Peach Mountain, Rotten Peach Mountain. Now the peach forest transformed from these dozens of spiritual peach trees is just Niu Yi's first step. If he doesn't plant thousands of peach trees in the future, it would be a bit too unworthy of the name to have only these dozens of trees to support the facade.

If we say that the biggest beneficiary of Niu Yi's retreat this time is not the peach tree on the top of the mountain, but the entire Rotten Peach Mountain. At this moment, the land of Rotten Peach Mountain is filled with a faint spiritual energy.

If the earth-based Dao rhyme was allowed to nurture for a few years, the Rotten Peach Mountain would probably be entirely spiritual soil by now.

Apart from anything else, once he fully comprehends the great way of earth, as long as he practices on this mountain, it will only take a few years to turn all the Rotten Peach Mountain into spiritual soil.

Niu Yi looked at the thriving scene surrounding Rotten Peach Mountain with some emotion.

"Only now do I realize that when one reaches a high level of cultivation, all those treasures that were once so highly valued are actually nothing."

Apart from anything else, the Earth Spirit Jade was quite precious to him back then. Now, if he could realize the Great Way of Earth Movement in the future, even if he practiced on an ordinary stone for hundreds of years, the stone would probably produce Earth Spirit Jade.

The Earth Yuan Pill given to him by Senior Zhen Yuanzi, combined with the Earth Spirit Pearl that recognized its master, made him feel what it meant to reach the sky in one step.

And with the Earth Spirit Pearl in his hand, he is very confident that he will fully understand the great way of earth in twenty years.

"I don't know what kind of expression Brother Jinfu will have when he sees me again in more than 20 years."

"While this sudden ascension is great, I should still practice quietly for a few more years to consolidate my cultivation and rebuild my foundation."

When Niu Yi thought about this, the smile on his face slowly faded, and the excitement of this major breakthrough slowly returned to calm. He walked back to the hut, sat cross-legged on the bed, slowly closed his eyes, and entered the spiritual state of mind.

Niu Yi looked at the familiar, half-open back door of the courtyard in front of him, but he was not surprised. He straightened his clothes and walked straight into the door and headed inside.

Niu Yi walked all the way and came straight to the master. After closing the door behind him, he stepped forward and respectfully bowed to the master as a disciple, saying:
"Master."

Patriarch Bodhi, who was sitting in meditation on the cushion, slowly opened his eyes, looked at Niu Yi with gentle eyes, and said:

"Guangyi, how's your chess practice going?"

Hearing this, Niu Yi was stunned. He thought his master would ask him some questions about cultivation, but he never thought that his master would ask him this.

Niu Yi said honestly:

"Master, thanks to my senior brother's help, I have finally made the entrance to the art of chess. I'm much better now than before, but I still haven't beaten my senior brother in a game."

Patriarch Bodhi nodded slightly, then changed the subject and said:
"I think you're aware now that you've formed a significant karmic connection with Wuzhuang Monastery. Do you have any concerns?"

Niu Yi thought for a moment, then shook his head and said:
"Disciple has never had any concerns. Since I started practicing Taoism, I have indeed received a lot of support and kindness from the seniors. I am extremely grateful and do not think that this karma is a burden."

Although he had comprehended the cause and effect since the beginning of his cultivation, and was now even involved in the great way of cause and effect, over the years he had only used this as a help, rather than using cause and effect to define his own behavioral standards.

Of course, what made him feel most at ease and confident were his own master and his school.
The Grandmaster looked at Niu Yi and said gently, "Good! I am quite relieved about your temperament."

"My disciple Guangyi, remember this: even the gods and Buddhas in the sky cannot predict everything that happens in this world. You should consult your heart and act accordingly."

After the ancestor finished speaking, Niu Yi's vision changed rapidly, and he soon reappeared in the central hall in Lingtai's mind.

Niu Yi was a little dazed looking at the ancestor's tablet in front of him. This was the first time the ancestor said these things to him.
Niu Yi bowed respectfully to the ancestral tablet, turned around and walked out of the hall.

Although he was walking, he was thinking about the profound meaning of the master's words.

The ancestor said that even the gods and Buddhas in the sky could not predict everything in this world. Niu Yi had a deep understanding of this after practicing to this point.

Let’s not talk about anything else, just talk about the City of the Dead.

This City of the Unjustly Dead was built by Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva to shelter the souls of those who died unjustly.

What is a wrongful death? Simply put, it is an accidental death.

The Book of Life and Death in the underworld clearly records the lifespans of many living beings, when they died, and how they died. However, in this world, unexpected things happen, causing some people to deviate from the predetermined endings in the Book of Life and Death and die early.

If a person's life is determined at birth, then there will be no "accidents" beyond the book of life and death.

Logically speaking, those who practice Taoism should all have experienced this kind of thing, but why did the ancestor suddenly talk about this matter today?

Could it be that he was overthinking it?

"Giggle!"

At this moment, the sudden crowing of a rooster beside his ears brought Niu Yi back to his senses. He looked at the colorful rooster that was looking at him with its head tilted and couldn't help but be stunned.

Unknowingly, he walked to the colorful chicken's nest in the back mountain.

"Hehe~ I'm fine."

Niu Yi smiled at the colorful chickens in front of him with worried eyes. He had been in seclusion for five years, and fifteen years should have passed in his spiritual state of mind. Seeing these guys again, he felt quite familiar in his heart.

Niu Yi turned around and walked slowly into the Baoji nest under the towering tree of the colorful Baoji, looking at the huge colorful egg in the nest.

After not being here for so many years, this huge colorful egg is still the same as usual, without any movement.

Niu Yi just looked at the colorful eggs in front of him quietly for a while before turning around and walking towards the Taoist temple.

Although he knew that there could be no danger in Lingtai's mind, he felt relieved to see that the old rooster was fine.

At this moment, he was still thinking about the words of the ancestor.

He still hadn't figured out what the Grandmaster meant by the last sentence, but now that the Grandmaster had asked him about the art of chess, he had finally understood.

"Master asked me about my progress in chess. Could it be that that senior is coming again?"
