Chapter 2 Breaking Bad!

Ginny, who came to the South District for the first time, didn't know the address mentioned on the radio, but when she heard that it was a child kidnapping case, her expression suddenly became nervous.

In this country, no matter what happens behind the scenes, child safety is the top priority for all law enforcement agencies.

She was about to pick up the radio to reply, but her other hand was quicker than her to grab the car phone.

"Command Center, 7-C-15 is en route to the scene."

The next second, she felt a strong push on her back, and Ginny, who hadn't sat down firmly yet, was instantly pressed against the backrest.

She turned her head and saw that the laziness and casualness on Rorschach's face had disappeared without a trace, replaced by a concentration and coldness she had never seen before.

The police car quickly increased its speed to over 100 yards per hour, and the sirens echoed rapidly in the street. Anyone who saw it would know that an important case must have occurred.

Not long after, with Rorschach driving at high speed, the police car drove through several streets and finally arrived at the location mentioned in the radio - a slightly dilapidated two-story wooden house.

The yard was filled with all kinds of debris and garbage. As soon as Ginny opened the car door, she smelled a bad odor.

"Did I ask you to get off?"

Rorschach pressed the rookie's head and pushed her back into the car, pointing at her and admonishing her, "Throw away that toy gun and replace it with a real gun."

Ginny's face tightened, and then she nodded excitedly, "I understand. Don't worry, Rorschach, I will definitely support you in time!"

"Stop it, rookie! I told you to stay in the car and protect yourself!"

"what?"

Ginny still wanted to seize another opportunity to confront the criminals head-on, but Rorschach had already waved to her and entered the yard in front alone.

Walking over the messy garbage on the ground, Rorschach walked to the closed door, knocked twice, and shouted in a deep voice: "CPD (Chicago Police Department), we received a call, you..."

"Get out of here, you f*cking cop! If you come in here, I'm gonna shoot you!"

Before Rorschach could finish his words, a rap-like curse sounded from inside.

A woman, most likely a plump black woman, was yelling at him from behind the door.

Rorschach remained calm and continued, "Ma'am, this is my final warning. An anonymous caller has called the police claiming you are suspected of child kidnapping. Please put down your weapon and come out for investigation."

"Shut up, cop! Get out of my house!" The voice from inside the door showed no sign of compromise.

"OK"

Rorschach nodded, stopped talking, turned around and walked to the police car, opened the trunk, and took out a police Remington M870!

He held the bottom of the shotgun barrel with his left hand, shook his wrist, and pulled it suddenly, and the bullet was loaded instantly!

Glancing at the stunned Ginny, Rorschach raised his chin. "Lesson 2 of being a good cop: use a shotgun to break down a door. Remember?"

Ginny couldn't help herself this time and asked directly: "We don't have a search warrant, we can't."

"The third lesson for a good police officer is to learn to adapt to changing circumstances."

Rorschach waved his hand, ignoring the rookie's dissuasion, walked to the door, raised the shotgun and fired two shots at the middle lock!

One shot to lock the tongue, one shot to lock the chain!
The tightly closed door was suddenly shaken open and bounced heavily against the wall.

In Ginny's eyes, she saw Rorschach holding a shotgun in both hands, turning quickly and entering the house, disappearing from her sight.

"Bang bang bang-!"

The next second, a series of gunshots rang out in the house!
It's the sound of a pistol!

At the same time, another dull shotgun blast rang out, accompanied by a man's scream of pain and a child's cry.

Ginny's heart tightened, and she quickly pulled out the pistol from her waist, opened the car door and was about to go in to help Rorschach, but then she stopped.

In front of him, Rorschach walked out of the house with an expressionless face.

He still held the Remington shotgun in his right hand, but in his left hand he was holding a girl who was probably only six or seven years old. The girl hugged Rorschach's neck tightly with both hands and was sobbing in fear. "Rorschach? Are you okay?" Ginny was stunned for a moment, then hurried forward to greet him.

"Notify the police and call an ambulance. The child has been rescued. There were two criminals, a black couple. The husband tried to attack me with a pistol, and I broke his arm. They both took drugs and are very emotionally unstable." Rorschach still had that cold expression on his face as he calmly informed Ginny.

At this moment, Ginny didn't care about his indifferent attitude. After taking a quick look and finding that Rorschach was indeed not injured, she hurried to the car to report to the police station. But at this moment, a burst of angry threats suddenly came from behind them.

First, a fat black woman rushed out of the house, pointed at Rorschach and cursed: "You have no right to run into my house and shoot! I know your name, Rorschach Butcher! You betrayed the South District. Do you think you can do whatever you want in the South District just because you put on a police uniform?"

Immediately afterwards, another burly black man stumbled out. This guy had his broken arm dangling, but his expression was full of excitement, as if he didn't feel any pain at all.

"Go ahead and take her away, Rorschach. She'll be back in my hands in two days anyway." The black man looked at the girl Rorschach was holding and threatened with a sinister grin, "This is the South District. I'll remember what this little beauty looks like. She'll never be able to escape."

Rorschach suddenly stopped, sighed, then put the little girl down, rubbed her head gently, and smiled a kind smile:

"Children, don't look. Close your eyes."

Although the girl didn't understand what it meant after hearing it, she nodded obediently and quickly closed her eyes tightly.

Rorschach smiled, then looked at Ginny and said seriously, "The fourth lesson of a good police officer is to not leave the victim vulnerable to secondary harm."

After he finished speaking, under Ginny's shocked gaze, Rorschach raised his other hand, Remington, turned around and fired a shot!
"Oh!"

The 12-gauge shotgun shell accurately hit the chest of the still-chattering black man, knocking him several meters away and causing him to fall heavily to the ground!
But Rorschach had no intention of letting him go. He strode forward, pulling the handle continuously, and large-caliber bullets hit the black man mercilessly.

In an instant, the only sound in the entire yard was the roar of shotgun shells. After all seven bullets were fired, the black man had become a pile of rotten meat, staring silently at Rorschach who was looking down at him.

As for his wife, the one who threatened to complain about Rorschach just a second ago didn't even dare to breathe. She could only stick to the wall, trembling as she looked at the devil-like Rorschach in front of her.

And in the sight that no one could see, a ray of red light flashed across the black man's body and shot into Rorschach's chest.

Rorschach calmly felt the slight changes in his body. The next second, he turned his head and shrugged helplessly at Ginny.

"It seems there's no need to call an ambulance for him."

"."

--------

Half an hour later, outside a residential house in the South District.

Ginny carried the frightened girl out of the car. She glanced at the girl's home on the side of the road and couldn't help but ask Rorschach, who was still sitting in the car, "Aren't you going to take her home with me?"

"No, you go ahead." Rorschach lit a cigarette and replied without looking back, "Go and enjoy the feeling of saving a family. Just think of it as a newbie bonus."

"Benefits?" Ginny blinked in confusion, thinking Rorschach was saying something weird again. She snorted softly, hugged the little girl and went over to ring the doorbell.

It was not until the other party's parents came out crying with joy that Ginny understood what Rorschach meant.

"Cassie!!!" A young woman dressed as a housewife let out a heart-wrenching cry and hugged the little girl in her arms, holding her tightly.

The girl named Cathy's sobs, which had stopped abruptly, began to rise again, her small hands tightly wrapped around her mother's neck, refusing to be separated no matter what. The man in a suit beside her also plopped down on the ground, hugging the mother and daughter tightly in his arms, tears of joy streaming down his face uncontrollably.

Seeing this scene, Ginny suddenly felt an inexplicable feeling in her heart.

She couldn't tell whether it was a sense of accomplishment or joy for other families' reunions. But she only knew that her heart felt filled, fulfilled, and...enjoyed?
Not far away, Rorschach also smiled as he watched Ginny, who was a little overwhelmed by the excited gratitude of Cathy's parents.

But then, he became confused again.

Growing up in the South Side, he was all too familiar with Chicago's lawless underbelly. While drug trafficking, robberies, and gang violence were common, human trafficking was rare.

"Has the quality of crime in Chicago become so low now..." Rorschach shook his head and was about to light another cigarette when the cell phone in his pocket suddenly rang.

He picked it up and saw the name "Gus" on the contact screen. Rorschach narrowed his eyes and the fingers holding the phone slowly tightened.

After a moment of silence, he clicked the connect button and a gentle and polite voice came out:

"Rorschach, I'm going to smuggle a group of children to New York. Keep an eye on the police station and report to me at any time..."
