Chapter 24: Some Black Jokes
He was not in a hurry to upgrade his expertise. After all, there was a group of extremely terrified children staring at him.

"Hey, little guys, smile."

Rorschach opened his arms and smiled at the kids, saying, "That shot just now was all thanks to you."

Upon hearing this, the already panicked children cried even harder, and the entire basement was instantly filled with their cries.

Rorschach was stunned. This was completely different from the welcome scene he had expected.

He slowly put away his gun, squatted down, and patiently explained: "I was sent by your parents to rescue you. Now all the bad guys have been defeated. Come, I will take you home."

A little girl raised her head and replied with red eyes: "You are lying. We don't have a mom or a dad. We were sold by bad people at the adoption center."

After hearing these words, the children cried even harder.

Rorschach has never been good at coaxing children, and he was a little at a loss at the moment.

Suddenly, he seemed to have an idea.

He patted the children's shoulders gently and said soothingly, "Hey, forget about your irresponsible parents. Do you want to hear a joke?"

"joke?"

"That's right, this is my uncle's best joke, absolutely hilarious."

Rorschach helped them up one by one, and after breaking all the ropes connecting them, he picked up the youngest child from the ground and led them out while continuing to preach:
"Do you know what's the whitest part of a black person's body? Whoever can answer, uncle will treat him to a big meal."

The children were attracted by this question and seemed to forget their fear for a moment, and they all rushed to answer:

"butt!"

"Palm!"

"No, no, it's the nails!"

"No, it's the teeth."

They spoke out various answers at once.

But Rorschach smiled and shrugged, saying helplessly: "Sorry, little guys, the answer should be his master."

"what?"

The children looked confused and obviously didn't understand the meaning of the joke.

As mentioned before, Rorschach is not good at coaxing children.
Fortunately, when they walked out of the basement, they were so shocked by the scene before them that they no longer cared about their curiosity and doubts.

Along the way, headless corpses and disgusting bloody messes could be seen everywhere.

They didn't even dare to look at him. They all grabbed the corners of Rorschach's clothes. Those who had nowhere to hold on grabbed their companions' hands and followed Rorschach in fear, just wanting to get out as soon as possible.

"Don't be afraid, these guys are the bad guys who caught you, and now they all got their retribution." Rorschach said comfortingly.

At this moment, the little girl in his arms suddenly raised her head and asked seriously, "What about the bad guys from the adoption center? Are they here too?"

As soon as these words came out, the children around raised their heads and looked at Rorschach expectantly with wide eyes.

They were sent to an adoption center because of family misfortunes, but were soon sold by staff bribed by Gus.

Although they knew the gunman was a bad guy, they also knew that the employee who sold them out was also a bad guy.

Seeing the eager expressions on the little ones' faces, Rorschach gave an answer that did not disappoint them:

"I think that guy's fate might be even worse."

----------

"what!!!"

The shrill screams echoed in the bloodstained house.

A fat woman with bullet wounds in her hands and feet, her face disfigured beyond recognition, lay on the ground, groaning in pain.

The escape door was only a few meters away from her. As long as she could escape out of the door and be discovered by the neighbors, she might still have a chance of survival.

But a hooded figure was standing in front of her, leaving her no chance of survival. "Connor, look what I found."

Murphy walked out of the inner room carrying a heavy suitcase, cursing, "That bitch hid the money in the floorboards. Do you know how much money it is? Two hundred and sixty thousand! A full two hundred and sixty thousand US dollars!"

After saying that, he stormed forward and kicked the fat woman in the head again, angrily scolding her, "This old bitch relied on her position. I don't know how many children she has sold in secret. She deserves to die!"

With every kick, the fat woman's wailing became weaker, and it was obvious that she was about to die.

Connor opened the suitcase and saw stacks of hundred-dollar bills inside. Anger and disgust mixed in his heart.

The children in the South District are like grass. Behind these 260,000 people, there are countless children with tragic fates.

"Damn it, we can't let this bitch die so easily."

Connor stopped Murphy who was still venting his anger, rummaged through the drawers in the house, and finally found a thick hemp rope.

He tied one end into a knot and put it firmly around the fat woman's neck, and wrapped the other end around the roof beam, preparing to hang her.

Seeing this scene, Murphy couldn't help but ask: "Should we really kill her? Shouldn't this matter be handed over to the police?"

"Fuck the police! Do you think everyone in the Chicago Police Department is Rorschach?" Connor remained unmoved and pulled the rope hard.

But the fat woman lay on the ground, motionless.

Seeing this, Murphy rolled his eyes and came over to help.

After a while, the fat woman from the adoption center was hung high up and hung under the beam.

Connor wrapped the other end of the rope around the door handle, lit a cigarette, and handed one to Murphy.

In the smoke, he stared at the distorted face in front of him, and a strange feeling surged in his heart.

"Murphy, what should we call this behavior?"

"Kill people, what else can you call it?"

"No, I think execution is more appropriate!"

Connor put his arm around Murphy's shoulders and became emotional. "We are ridding the world of evil and seeking justice for those who have not received it. We are simply executioners under God's throne!"

"Executioner?" Murphy couldn't help but raise his eyebrows. "Sounds good, I like this title."

"Right, from now on we're brothers, executioners! We specialize in executing criminals who escape legal punishment!"

The two men stamped out their cigarettes, picked up their suitcases, and left without looking back.

Tonight, they not only reaped huge wealth, but more importantly, they seemed to have found their mission in life.

The door slammed shut, leaving only the dead body swaying under the ceiling.

On the other side, Rorschach sent the kidnapped children to the police station.

"Go past the second intersection and turn the corner to find the police station. Just go in and tell them what you've been going through these past few days."

The children now each have a Burger King and an ice cream cone in their hands, and their fear has subsided a lot.

"What about you, uncle? Aren't you going in with us?" a child asked curiously.

"I won't go in." Rorschach waved at them. "After you are assigned to new families, I will come to see you when I have time."

"But we don't know what you look like." A little boy pointed at Rorschach's face covered by a turban.

Rorschach smiled and said, "Then you should treat all the good people you meet in the future as me."

A few minutes later, after watching all the children walk into the police station, Rorschach slammed the handbrake, stepped on the accelerator, turned the steering wheel, turned around and sped away.

The night tonight is still long.

Guys, if you have tickets, please give them to me.
