Hogwarts: Don't call me Wandmaker

Chapter 125 Spellbook? Horcrux Codex

Chapter 125 Spellbook? Horcrux Codex
When Siren returned to the Gryffindor common room, it was almost curfew time.

But the lounge was still crowded, and everyone seemed to be waiting for something. When Xilun walked in from the passage, he immediately attracted everyone's attention.

"Sirlen, where have you been?" Fred stood up excitedly. "The performance was a great success, a spectacular fireworks display. Even the professor was thoroughly enjoying it."

"It's because you weren't there that some people don't believe we were destroying the secret room."

"So, are you guys?" Xilun asked somewhat absentmindedly.

“Of course not.” Fred and George exchanged a glance and laughed. “We just said it was a spectacular fireworks show.”

“That’s it, they weren’t wrong,” Celen said. “And what people who believe I’m the Slytherin heir think is completely irrelevant and doesn’t need explaining.”

"Anyway, I'm telling you now that the problem with the secret room has been solved. If they don't believe me, they can go and see for themselves."

As he spoke, Celen tried to get around the human wall formed by Fred and George.

"Hey, what's that?"

At that moment, Hermione suddenly noticed something floating on Celen's shoulder.

“It looks like a book,” Harry said. “But does such a small book really require a levitation charm?”

As they were talking, the black-covered book seemed to be stimulated by something, suddenly jumping from Xilun's left shoulder to his right, and even opening by itself, with a crisp rustling sound as the pages turned.

"Oh, that's so cool..."

Fred and George were immediately captivated; they had never imagined that having a book floating in front of them could be so stylish.

Especially when the pages were turned, they couldn't take their eyes off it.

It would be even better if the book could be replaced with the Golden Snitch. Imagine the wizard walking ahead, the Golden Snitch following around – just thinking about it is exciting!

“George, I’ve suddenly had a great idea,” Fred said thoughtfully.

“What a coincidence, I thought of that too,” George said. “Perhaps we’re thinking the same thing.”

"It must be the same."

So what's your answer?

“Of course, just like you.” The two said something that no one could understand, and the next second they both put their hands on Xilun’s shoulders.

"Let's work together, Siron."

"I dare say this thing will definitely be a hit at Hogwarts."

"Or you can just tell us how to do it..."

“We can trade for a Marauder’s Map.” George offered a price that tempted Siron, but unfortunately they really couldn’t make it, not even he himself could do it a second time.

Yes, this is a magic wand, or you could call it a spellbook.

Because it is completely different from traditional wands, it does not provide any benefit or harm to the user.

Even special items like the Troll Wand have a 30% bonus to defensive magic, but this book has none of that.

But does it matter?
Xilun felt it was completely unimportant; compared to the advantages of the magic book itself, this flaw was negligible.

Xilun was eager to try out this new gadget.

He looked around and finally fixed his gaze on Harry.

"I need to talk to you. Come with me quickly."

“Can we wait a minute…? Move the knight to H3,” Harry said. “The game will be over soon.”

“I’ll help you,” Xiren said.

Before Harry could even react to what this meant, he saw Siren extend his finger and flick Ron's "King" hard.

"That's a foul, a foul!"

The king, cursing, fell to the ground and broke in two, while the other pieces were instantly pulverized.

"That's awesome!" Harry's pieces cheered. "Well done, man, that's how you play!"

“Hey…” Ron looked up angrily.

“Sorry, I’ll treat you to butterbeer next time,” Siron said, then pulled Harry upstairs to the dormitory.

"What's wrong?" Harry looked at Siron, puzzled, and just then noticed the silver-grey cloak he was holding. "You can use the Invisibility Cloak for a few more days, no need to rush to return it to me."

“No, I don’t need that anymore,” Siron said. “Have you learned the Disarming Charm?”

"what?"

“Disarming Charm,” Siren repeated. “It’s the one Professor Flitwick taught us at the Duel Club.”

"Oh, I guess I guess I know it," Harry said somewhat uncertainly.

He was able to knock Ron and Hermione's wands away; no one else had tried, so I don't know if that counts as having learned it.

"That's good." Xiren took a few steps back and stood in front of the window. "Now cast the disarming spell on me."

“Now?” Harry shook his head and said, “It’s not really appropriate to practice spells in the dormitory. Besides, it’s so late. Can’t we find an empty classroom tomorrow morning?”

"We can also invite Ron and Hermione along then."

“No, it’s not about practicing spells,” Siren explained. “Hurry, this is important.”

Seeing Siren's serious expression, Harry didn't understand, but he still nodded and took out his wand.

“Watch out,” he warned, then pointed his wand at Siron. “Disarm!”

A blinding red light flashed, and Harry was suddenly horrified to discover that Cyrus had no wand.

What happens when you use a disarming charm on someone who doesn't have a wand?
The moment the thought popped into Harry's head, the red light was already in front of Siron.

However, the next second, a book appeared between Siron and the Disarming Curse.

The black cover… Harry remembered it was the book that had just flown around Siron like the Golden Snitch.

Then, the disarming spell was eaten by the opened book.

Yes, it was eaten.

Harry watched helplessly as his spell struck a blank sheet of paper and vanished instantly, like a stone thrown into a black lake.

“What, what… what happened?” Harry stammered.

That doesn't make sense. Even if his disarming spell is bad, it shouldn't break down just because he bumps into a book.

Harry, still in shock, didn't notice that after the Disarming Charm disappeared, a complex symbol appeared out of nowhere on the previously blank page.

It was a symbol made of magical runes, shimmering with a faint red light.

"Watch out, Harry!"

Hearing Siron's voice, Harry was jolted awake. He saw that the book had been opened again, and one of the pages was emitting a familiar red light.

Isn't that the disarming spell he just used?

Just as Harry was thinking this, he was struck in the stomach by the red light, his wand flew out of his hand, and he couldn't help but bend over, panting heavily.

But Harry didn't care about that at all, and struggled to his feet to ask, "What happened? That book..."

“That’s not a book, it’s a magic wand,” Siron said.

“A wand?” Harry frowned. “But that’s a book, I saw it.”

“Well, this can’t be explained in a few words,” said Siron, handing the wand back to Harry. “You can try again.”

This time, Harry didn't hesitate. He took the wand and pointed it at Siron.

"Except your weapons!"

The familiar red light, the unfolded pages of the book.

But this time Harry saw it clearly: it was that book that had "eaten" his spell and then bounced it back at him.

The wand slipped from his hand a second time, but was caught by Siron.

"Come again?"

“Okay.” Harry wanted to see what was going on, so he agreed almost without hesitation.

Nearly half an hour later, after Harry had been hit by his own Disarming Charm countless times and could barely lift his arm, he realized that he had been tricked.

“Your book is a magical item that’s been enchanted with an armor spell, isn’t it?” he said with certainty.

If it can reflect spells, isn't that the effect of the Ironclad Spell?
Xilun simply smiled this time without offering any explanation.

With Harry's help, he managed to get a basic understanding of the Horcrux book.

First, he can actively manipulate spellbooks using magical connections, similar to using a levitation charm to control objects. Furthermore, he can use magical perception to move himself in front of spells.

Currently, the reaction speed is faster through magic perception, but it's unknown whether it will prioritize blocking the most powerful spell when encountering multiple spells simultaneously.

We can try it later when we have the chance.

In addition, this spell to absorb others is a one-time use spell; once used, it will return to a blank page, and it also consumes a considerable amount of magic power.

Xilun roughly calculated that absorbing one Disarming Charm and then casting it back was roughly equivalent to him using one and a half Disarming Charms himself.

That's normal, since this thing is also a magic wand, and using spells naturally requires magic power. Besides, if you think about it carefully, he actually made a profit of half a wand.

Oh, and most importantly, it doesn't conflict with Silver Mane; it can be used as an extra accessory.

This discovery thrilled Siron.

If I had to point out any drawback, it would be that eight blank pages are far too few; they're simply not enough.

It's probably a problem with the cane core.

Looking at the unrepaired cracks at the back of the diary, Xilun had never felt such a strong urge to collect the other Horcruxes.

But that’s all for the future.

Siren walked up to Harry and helped him up.

"Can you keep what happened just now a secret and not tell anyone?"

“Where are Ron and Hermione?” Harry asked.

“The same goes,” Siren said. “But I will tell them when the time is right.”

“Well… okay, I promise you.” Harry nodded.

He didn't think it was a big deal; a magical item with the power of the Ironclad Charm was probably similar to his Invisibility Cloak.

However, since Siren wants to keep it a secret, he will just not tell anyone. He just needs to make up a reason to deal with Ron.

Seeing that Harry had agreed, Siron breathed a slight sigh of relief. He had no choice; if he didn't test the Horcrux's effects, he definitely wouldn't be able to sleep tonight.

But there were only a few people in the common study room. Fred and George had left because of other things, Hermione was a girl, and the others weren't very familiar to her.

That leaves only Harry and Ron, and Harry is obviously more reliable.
