Hogwarts: Don't call me Wandmaker
Chapter 141 Whistle
Chapter 141 Whistle
On the other side, upon hearing Hagrid's roar, Siren didn't hesitate at all, turning and running while reminding him, "Hagrid, the basilisk's gaze can kill!"
After saying that, he gave Harry, who was still in a daze, a kick, and skillfully rushed out of the castle gate.
It's strange that he has so much experience in hiding from large magical creatures in Hogwarts Castle.
"What on earth is going on?!" The three ran out of the castle, and Sirius immediately asked, "Shouldn't this be a game that Dumbledore prepared for you? How did it end up outside?!"
"What game... what are you talking about?" Harry looked at Siron, completely bewildered, not understanding what he meant.
"It's the same kind of game as last year's 'Protect the Philosopher's Stone' game," Siren said.
“This isn’t the time to talk about games,” Hermione said, though she also didn’t understand what Siren meant.
At that moment, there was another noise behind them.
The basilisk had already chased after them, seemingly determined to kill Siron first. Hagrid, holding its tail from behind, pulled the basilisk back with a forceful tug.
"I really..." Hearing the commotion behind him, Xilun didn't dare to turn around and just kept running forward.
"Shouldn't we go back and help Hagrid...?" someone suddenly said.
“If you don’t want to die, and incidentally kill Hagrid as well, you’d better give up this stupid idea now,” Siron said bluntly.
He no longer cared about what was going on; the most important thing now was to deal with the basilisk... or rather, Tom Riddle?
Forget it, whatever it is, that thing is determined to come for me.
Siren could only hope that Hagrid could hold off the basilisk, otherwise he was doomed.
Could it be that I'm mistaken, and the Basilisk isn't a puzzle game left by Dumbledore for Harry?
“We’d better ask other professors for help,” Hermione said as she ran. “Are there any other doors in the castle?”
“Of course there is, but there’s no need,” Celen said. “Hagrid is more reliable than Professor McGonagall when it comes to dealing with magical creatures, especially when the opponent is a basilisk.”
Seeing the basilisk's eyes will kill you.
Hagrid inherited the giant's powerful physique and resistance to magic, and with the added enhancement from the troll wand, he successfully neutralized the curse.
But Professor McGonagall is not a half-giant, nor does she have a wand that can refresh the Ironclad Charm at any time. If she sees the Basilisk's eyes, she may really die.
As they were talking, the group had already run to the door of Hagrid's cabin.
“We have to do something,” Hermione said anxiously, raising her wand and trying to shoot red sparks into the sky.
"Stop!" Siren shouted.
The Horcrux appeared just in time above Hermione's wand, completely negating her warning spell.
"That thing is a basilisk monster. Anyone who sees its eyes will be killed instantly."
"What did you say?" Hermione was startled and broke out in a cold sweat, only then remembering that Siren had said something similar in the castle.
If what Xilun said is true, then her actions just now were very foolish.
If someone were to look out out of curiosity, they might very well come face to face with the basilisk's eyes.
"Sirlen, is that monster really a basilisk?"
"Hmm." Xilun wasn't in the mood for a question-and-answer game right now, so he nodded perfunctorily.
He summoned the unicorn's spirit and looked through its blue body at the distant commotion.
Seemingly heeding his earlier warning, Hagrid was struggling to drag the Basilisk out of the castle, and judging by the direction, it should be the Quidditch pitch.
However, the basilisk kept struggling, and even though Hagrid was dragging its tail, its head kept looking this way.
"She really holds a grudge..." Xilun's lips twitched.
He had no doubt that once the basilisk broke free from Hagrid, it would come looking for him immediately.
"What exactly did you do?" Xilun couldn't help but ask.
"I..." Harry opened his mouth, staring at the blue unicorn, but for a moment he didn't know where to begin.
However, Siron wasn't really interested in listening. He had been keeping an eye on the situation in the distance, and after noticing that Hagrid had dragged the Basilisk far enough away, he immediately turned to Harry and Hermione and said, "You two go back to the castle right now and tell the professor that the Basilisk has come out. Tell them to seal all the windows immediately, especially the ones in the common room."
"I'm going right now!" Hermione immediately ran back. "What about you?" Harry took a couple of steps, then turned back to ask when he saw that Siren hadn't moved. "Aren't you coming with us?"
“No,” Siren said. “I have to find a way to help Hagrid; he might not be able to handle the Basilisk by himself.”
The Basilisk's most lethal weapon isn't just its gaze. It's only because Tom Riddle is consumed by hatred and determined to take revenge that if the Basilisk calms down and focuses on dealing with Hagrid, the Ironclad Charm won't be able to stop its venomous fangs.
Xiren needs to find a new helper as soon as possible.
“I’ll help you.” Harry turned back without hesitation. “Hermione is enough to deliver the message.”
Siren didn't refuse; he simply pushed open the door of the cabin and went inside immediately. Harry, though puzzled, followed him.
As soon as he entered, he saw Xilun rummaging through drawers and cabinets looking for something.
"What are you looking for?"
“A whistle made of stone,” Siren said.
So Harry started searching in a daze too.
"Aren't we going to help Hagrid?"
“This is helping Hagrid.” Celen opened a cabinet, hoping that Hagrid wouldn’t take the whistle with him.
"Is this what you're talking about?"
Harry's voice came from behind him, and Siron quickly turned around, just in time to see him holding up a rough stone whistle.
"That's it!" Xiren's eyes lit up. "Blow it out hard, and quick!"
……
Meanwhile, at the castle.
The professors had already been alerted when the basilisk crashed into the wall. When they arrived at the foyer, they immediately saw the large hole in the wall and the broken pipe inside.
"What on earth happened?" Professor McGonagall clutched her chest.
“What’s that?” Snape suddenly noticed something glittering in the pile of rubble. As he got closer, he realized it was a scale, and a snake’s scale at that.
But this size...
Snape's face turned pale instantly. "No way..."
Just then, Hermione ran in from outside.
“Miss Granger?” Professor McGonagall looked at her.
"Professor..." Hermione shouted urgently, "The monster in the Chamber of Secrets has escaped! Siron says it's a basilisk! We'd better seal all the dormitory windows immediately!"
Her words were like an explosive spell that detonated in the crowd, instantly stunning all the professors.
But the professors quickly realized what was happening and immediately waved their wands.
With each window covered, the castle suddenly became even darker.
At this point, Hermione briefly recounted how the basilisk smashed through the wall and was dragged out of the castle by Hagrid.
"Thank goodness, thank goodness Hagrid was in the castle at that time." Professor McGonagall felt a surge of relief. If it weren't for Hagrid, the half-giant, blocking the basilisk's view, those three students might have died.
“Professor…” Hermione continued, her voice trembling with tears, “And Ron, please save him…”
“Mr. Weasley.” Professor McGonagall’s heart, which had just settled, jumped again. She asked anxiously, “Did the Basilisk see him?”
“He was… he was taken into the Chamber of Secrets,” Hermione said, tears streaming down her face.
“You just mentioned the Chamber of Secrets. Didn’t the Basilisk escape on its own?” Professor McGonagall had to interrupt her. “But the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets has been sealed off.”
“It was Lockhart. Lockhart and someone else broke down the bathroom door…” Hermione said. “They opened the secret room!”
