Hogwarts: Don't call me Wandmaker

Chapter 143 The Repaired Blank Page

Chapter 143 The Repaired Blank Page

Cyril regretted it a little; he really shouldn't have told Louie that Hagrid was in danger, or rather, he shouldn't have stood next to Louie and said that.

As a result, Lou Williams panicked immediately and ran over as soon as he smelled Hagrid's scent.

None of this matters. After all, Siron originally wanted Fulvey to help Hagrid, but he didn't expect Fulvey to take him along.

Without any time to react, Xilun felt his body lighten as he was picked up and tossed onto his back.

Then Lou Williams started running at full speed, and in order not to be left behind, Sirius could only lower his head and hold on tightly to the rough fur on the back of the three-headed dog.

As for whether they will encounter the basilisk head-on later, to be honest, Xilun can't think about that right now.

After all, this is a height of twenty feet, and given Lou Williams' current speed, if he were to fall, the consequences might not be much better than being glared at by the Basilisk.

The whistling wind blew past his ears, making it hard for Xilun to open his eyes.

But soon he heard some different sounds: Hagrid's roar and Riddle's furious curses.

For some reason, Riddle's voice sounded different this time; it seemed less rational and more irritable and easily angered.

That feeling was similar to the Voldemort ghost I encountered in first grade. Back then, when the unicorn tore a small piece off its body, it would scream and howl hysterically.

However, besides Hagrid and the basilisk, Siron also heard another voice... it was Professor Flitwick, who seemed to have cast a spell on the basilisk.

"Dazzling and mesmerizing!"

Then Siren heard a painful scream.

It's an eye disease curse!

Xiren cautiously opened his eyes, and of course, he didn't forget to summon the unicorn beforehand.

Through the unicorn's blue body, he saw the basilisk writhing and struggling on the ground, but strangely, it was emitting Riddle's screams.

But Luwei didn't care about any of that. It had just seen the thing wrap itself around Hagrid and try to bite him, but Hagrid held its mouth tightly and prevented it from succeeding.

All three heads of the Fulveri figured out at the same time that it was bullying Hagrid...

Enraged, Luwei lunged forward, and all three heads simultaneously opened their mouths and bit down on the basilisk's body.

"Bang bang..."

Siren heard three clear, crisp sounds. The basilisk's hard scales were like biscuits to the three-headed dog, instantly bitten through.

The basilisk made a painful hissing sound, and black blood gushed out from its wounds, flowing onto the grass, where the plants instantly withered and shriveled.

Fortunately, Xilun reacted quickly and grabbed the hat, turning it into a large umbrella, thus avoiding being drenched in snake blood.

But the hat was also ruined, corroded with more than a dozen holes.

"It's you, Siren Ollivander, I can smell you!"

The basilisk turned its head, its eyes seemingly veiled by something. Xilun tried to move his wrist, but felt no signs of being petrified at all.

It seems the Eye Curse is effective against the basilisk.

"What exactly are you..." After confirming that it was safe, Xiren finally spoke, "Should I call you a basilisk, or Tom Riddle?"

"I am Voldemort!" came Riddle's voice from the Basilisk.

“It really is you, Tom Riddle.” Siron frowned. “I never expected you to have let yourself turn into this mess.”

He had this feeling when he saw the basilisk in the foyer: the basilisk was Riddle, and Riddle had turned into the basilisk.

Previously, Sirius found it strange that Riddle, having lost three-quarters of his soul and his Horcrux diary, would still choose to return to Hogwarts.

It turns out they were plotting to kill the basilisk.

Basilisks, being man-made dark creatures, have fragile souls, so it's not surprising that Riddle could possess their bodies.

But what's strange is why Riddell would do that.

After he was separated from the diary, he could no longer be considered a Horcrux, but rather became another entity similar to his original self.

If Riddle were patient enough to find another lingering soul, perhaps he could even resurrect two Voldemors in the future.

If that's the case, they might not be able to defeat two Voldemors.

But Riddle didn't do that. Instead, he couldn't wait to choose a body for himself... In other words, he turned himself into a new Horcrux.

Perhaps it's not even as good as a Horcrux; at least a Horcrux is indestructible and won't be bitten through by Lou Williams.

“Shut up! This is Salazar Slytherin’s greatest masterpiece, and the most powerful weapon he left me!” Riddle roared, his voice even more snake-like than before.

The basilisk Riddle tried to reach out and bite Siron, but it was being held back by the three-headed dog. No matter how hard it tried, it couldn't touch Siron and instead aggravated its wound. Another spurt of snake blood gushed out, and through the wound, Siron could vaguely see the stark white bones inside.

After realizing it couldn't defeat Siron, the basilisk immediately changed tactics, turning its head and biting down on Lou Williams' leftmost head.

The venom paralyzed Louie's body instantly, causing it to involuntarily release its grip.

After breaking free of its restraints, the basilisk Riddle did not choose to run away. It was too persistent and did not care about its surroundings. It opened its mouth and bit at Xilun without any regard for its surroundings.

"...I'll kill you...I'll kill you!"

"Bang!" It was Hagrid again, swinging his wand and knocking out another of the basilisk's fangs.

When the basilisk bit Lou Williams, Hagrid's anger reached its peak, and he grabbed its head and started smashing it repeatedly.

Seeing his appearance, Lu Wei also staggered to his feet, shook his head, and began to bite at the basilisk's body again.

It was so sudden that Celen lost his balance and fell off Lou Williams' back.

Fortunately, Professor Flitwick waved his wand in time, causing Siron to float lightly to the ground.

He pulled Xilen aside but didn't immediately help her, perhaps because he felt it wasn't necessary.

If the basilisk were to face Hagrid and Cerberus alone, it would have a good chance of winning, but it just so happens to encounter Hagrid and Cerberus... and moreover, because they are both injured and in a state of extreme rage.

Hagrid smashed for a while, then grabbed its mouth with both hands and started pulling it to both sides. The basilisk tried to entangle Hagrid, but the three-headed dog held on tightly.

"Crack..." The basilisk's mouth swelled up, and painful hissing sounds came from its throat. It was no longer possible to tell whether it was the basilisk or Riddle.

“Oh, isn’t this a bit too cruel?” Professor Flitwick couldn’t help but touch his chin.

Despite saying that, his gaze never left the basilisk's eyes, and if the spell showed any signs of failing, he would immediately cast another one.

Professor Sprout on the other side also stopped, and a clump of green vines and several round things burrowed back into the soil and disappeared.

In the current situation, it seems we don't need them anymore.

"Crack..." It was that sound again; Hagrid seemed to be trying to break its jaw.

However, Lou Williams was faster; before that, it had already bitten through the basilisk's body and crushed its heart.

With a loud thud, the basilisk's upper body crashed to the ground and remained motionless.

"Is it dead?" Professor Flitwick asked.

"I don't know," Xilun said, stepping forward.

"Oh, come back quickly, Mr. Ollivander!" Professor Sprout was startled and hurriedly tried to grab Siron.

But then, music drifted in from somewhere, making her stop.

The voice was ethereal and mysterious, seemingly capable of infusing people with power.

The music grew louder and louder, and suddenly a red bird, as big as a peacock, descended from the sky, with a large, shimmering golden tail.

This is a phoenix.

It sang as it landed on the head to Louie's left.

Upon hearing the phoenix's song, the previously agitated Cerberus quickly calmed down. It gently rubbed against the phoenix's tail and lay down to sleep.

Then the phoenix landed on Hagrid, its gaze sweeping over him before finally settling on Hagrid's hand, which was smoking.

"Are you hurt?" Siren asked with concern.

“Probably not.” Hagrid also calmed down and said, “Maybe it was from being splashed with snake blood, but I feel fine. I should be fine after washing it off.”

Heron saw the phoenix lower its head, and something dripped onto Hagrid's hand, which immediately stopped smoking.

The Phoenix's Tears.

Xilun pursed his lips, completely relieved. While the two professors were focused on the phoenix, he quietly approached the basilisk.

Whether the basilisk was dead or not was unimportant; he was more concerned about whether Riddle was still alive.

Under the bright moonlight, the dead basilisk seemed to have a layer of smoke-like substance on its body, so faint as to be almost imperceptible.

While it's difficult to say whether this is Riddell, Siren has its own way of verifying it.

The Horcrux flew over and shielded Xilun's wrist... A few seconds later, the smoke disappeared, and the several blank pages on the grimoire, which were originally full of cracks, were now visibly recovering and becoming whole again.
