Hogwarts: Don't call me Wandmaker
Chapter 311 Barty Crouch
Chapter 311 Barty Crouch
He spent about half an hour in Professor McGonagall's tent, during which time he met many of his Hogwarts classmates, from every year, including those who had already graduated.
Even if they are supporters of the Bulgarian team, as long as they don't show it as obviously as Oliver Wood, Professor McGonagall will smile and chat with them for a few minutes, and then look forward to the upcoming game together.
“Actually, besides the matches, the mascots that appear at each Quidditch World Cup are also worth looking forward to,” Professor Flitwick told Siron. “For example, the Rainbow Bird from the last Quidditch World Cup was the magical creature that was closest to the phoenix, and it really caught the audience’s attention.”
“And then there’s the Fire Crab from the previous competition,” Professor McGonagall said. “They almost stole the show with those glittering gems on their backs. I wonder what new tricks they’ll come up with this year.”
“It might even be more popular than the fire crab,” Xilun said.
"Maybe," Professor McGonagall said casually, though she didn't really believe it.
She didn't think any magical creature could be more captivating than the fire crab; the glittering gems on their backs were so alluring that many people couldn't take their eyes off them after just one glance.
As time went on, more and more people gathered around, and the professors became increasingly busy, with visitors coming almost every moment.
Xilun also left at the opportune moment and returned to his own camp.
Just then, Percy and Charlie arrived and were sitting next to Mr. Weasley, talking to a man in a well-fitting suit.
This is truly a rare sight. Not many wizards can wear a suit so neatly.
It took Xilun almost a second to guess the other person's identity.
The next second, Mr. Weasley confirmed his guess.
“You’ve come back just in time, Siron,” Mr. Weasley said with a smile. “Barty, let me introduce you, this is Siron, Siron Ollivander.”
“No need, Arthur, I know him,” said Barty Crouch, glancing at Siron and asking, “How was the trip to Egypt?”
"Not bad, quite a haul," Siron said.
"Did you know each other before?" Mr. Weasley asked in surprise.
“No,” Barty Crouch said. “Strictly speaking, this is our first meeting.”
“Yes,” Siron nodded. “But Mr. Crouch helped me a lot. I ran into some trouble in Egypt, and it was thanks to Mr. Crouch signing the travel permit that I was able to get through…”
“Wait a minute.” Barty Crouch interrupted Celen, correcting him, “That’s not for you, it’s for your grandfather, and strictly speaking, it’s not allowed to be transferred.”
His tone was serious, as if he were attending an important trial.
Mr. Weasley listened and suddenly became nervous... Why did Crouch's words sound like he wanted to cause trouble for Hillen?
In contrast, West London appeared much calmer.
Because he didn't hide anything when he used that travel permit, and he also followed the proper procedures for getting the key back. If Crouch really wanted to cause him trouble, he wouldn't have needed to wait until now.
Sure enough, the next second Barty Crouch looked away and said calmly.
“However, my pass says Ollivander, without specifying which Ollivander, so using it won’t be against the rules,” Barty Crouch continued. “And I’ve heard about the trouble you mentioned; apparently Gringotts was robbed there, right?”
“Yes,” Siren said. “Someone stole something important, and they’ve been searching for it for days.”
Barty Crouch's face immediately darkened. The fact that the goblins' Gringotts had been robbed, yet they wanted wizards to cooperate in the investigation, seemed utterly absurd to him.
If this happened in Diagon Alley, he would make those greedy goblins know what a wizard's wrath is. "Shillon, what are you saying!" Percy, not understanding what was going on, saw Crouch's change in expression and thought Siron had said something wrong, so he immediately lowered his voice and rebuked him.
"Huh? Did I say something?" Xilun didn't understand why Percy had suddenly become so agitated, and blinked blankly.
Barty Crouch also looked over, frowned slightly, but said nothing.
“Oh, right.” Then Cyren remembered something else and quickly said, “There’s an official from the International Magical Cooperation Division of the Egyptian Ministry of Magic, Imhotep Seti… I think that’s his name. He asked me to give his regards to Mr. Barty Crouch if I ever run into him.”
"Yes, I received it." Barty Crouch nodded casually, seemingly not the first time someone had greeted him on his behalf.
Barty Crouch did not stay here for long.
"Arthur, I'm afraid I have to go see those Bulgarians. See you later."
He waved his hand, then Apparated and disappeared.
Percy was still in a daze and hadn't come to his senses. He complained that Siron had spoken too rashly, which made Mr. Crouch leave in dissatisfaction.
Xilun didn't say a word or offer any explanation; he simply turned and left.
Since Percy graduated, his manner of speaking and acting has become increasingly annoying. Fred and George have said more than once that they particularly want to go against Percy lately.
So they would deliberately make noise in the hallway to disturb Percy, mock his crucible bottom investigation report, and even send him dragon dung.
In other words, being in the same family limited Fred and George's output, preventing them from using many good ideas. Otherwise, they could have been constantly creating new things for Percy every day.
Although Celen wasn't a Weasley, there were many Weasleys around. Out of consideration for them, Celen didn't argue with Percy and turned back to his tent.
At that moment, Charlie, along with Fred and George, walked over from a distance.
Judging from their expressions of both joy and frustration, their business must be doing quite well.
"It's a huge hit!" Fred told Siron as soon as he stepped into the tent, explaining just how popular their stuff was; it was practically sold out as soon as it was brought out.
“If Mom hadn’t found what we hid before we left, we could have sold even more,” George said with a pained expression.
"Hey there, Celen, how are you feeling?" Charlie asked, waving.
“It’s lively,” Celen said, glancing behind him. “Where’s Bill?”
“He just ran into some familiar friends and went to chat with them,” Charlie said, while also noticing the drastically changed robe on Siron’s body.
"You even brought new clothes?"
“No, Professor McGonagall did it,” Celen explained, as he took a torn strip of parchment from his pocket and carefully placed it in a drawer.
"What's that?" Fred asked curiously.
“The bet with Ludo Bagman,” Siren said. “I bet 100 Galleons, Ireland wins!”
