Chapter 386 Scoring
Krum was the last to leave Black Lake, and he arrived just in the last second before the second event ended.

He seemed to be trying to transform himself into a shark, but he wasn't very successful, resulting in only his upper body resembling a shark, while his lower body consisted of two legs wearing swim trunks.

Fortunately, this minor setback didn't have a significant impact, and Krum was still able to swim very fast in the Black Lake.

As soon as he got ashore, he couldn't help but complain:

"You must have made a mistake. I swam the entire lake, and there's nothing there..."

Krum's words came to an abrupt halt, for he had just seen the person who should have been waiting for him to rescue him in the lake standing dry on the shore.

"Bogdan? Why did you come up here by yourself!" Krum was furious and stormed over.

"Do you think I can't save you? Damn it, I swam at the bottom of the lake for an extra half hour just to find you, you cowardly coward!"

"I didn't, I didn't come up here by myself!" The Demstrang boy, called Bogdan, also felt wronged.

Who would have thought that he was just sitting there peacefully downstairs when he was suddenly pulled up and then severely reprimanded by Principal Kakarov.

Now, when Krum sees him, his first reaction is to blame him.

But is all of this his fault?

Bogdan glanced at the cold-faced Karkaroff, then at the furious Krum, and took a deep breath.

“I’m sorry, Viktor…”

After Bogdan's explanation, Krum finally understood the truth. His face was so gloomy it looked like it could drip water, and he subconsciously looked at Siren, who was chatting with Harry.

“Sirlen, that Krum is watching you.”

Reminded by Harry, Siren also turned to look, then casually waved his hand.

"It's nothing, it was just a small favor, no need to thank me."

Krum's face stiffened, and then looked even uglier.

But he was clearly much smarter than Bogdan, and he just snorted and said nothing more.

Next came the scoring, but the process took much longer than expected, as the judges seemed to have a disagreement.

Because under normal circumstances, a warrior can only save one person, Dumbledore specially arranged for merfolk to guard the finish line, so that if a warrior wanted to save a second person, they would rush up to stop him.

Underwater, even a powerful adult wizard is no match for a group of mermaids, so this arrangement seems foolproof no matter how you look at it.

None of them expected that Xiren would act so unpredictably. The first project involved summoning Cerberus, and the second project involved bringing forth a horse-shaped water monster.

Both are magical creatures that live in water, but the Kelpie is much faster than the Mermaid. It can rescue people and leave immediately, and the Mermaids simply cannot catch up with it.

This also resulted in the other two warriors, besides Xilun, being unable to complete all the tasks.

"That's cheating!" Karkaroff roared furiously. "He did it on purpose. That Siron Ollivander, because of his malicious sabotage, prevented Krum from completing the project. This despicable behavior... I suggest that his score be disqualified."

“Calm down, Professor Karkaroff,” Dumbledore said. “I’m more inclined to believe that Shiron simply couldn’t bear to see them in the water all the time. Many professors have said that he’s a kind and good boy.”

“Kindness, huh?” Karkaroff chuckled strangely.

“I agree with Dumbledore,” Mrs. Maxim said calmly. “Besides, he was the first warrior to leave the Black Lake, and it only took him ten minutes. There’s no doubt about that.” She was probably the most composed referee at this point. Since only Fleur had been brought up after failing midway and didn’t need to be scored, Beauxbatons was guaranteed to be at the bottom.

But precisely because of this, she didn't need to think about anything else, and her expression was incredibly calm.

“So how should we score it?” Karkaroff glanced at the others. “I think Krum has completed the project.”

“Kakarov, it’s still daytime, not the time to talk nonsense,” Maxim interrupted him. “Don’t forget, the second task is to rescue people, not to stay in the lake for an hour.”

“To be fair,” Ludo Bagman cleared his throat, “this was indeed an oversight on our part when arranging the event. Normally, Viktor Krum would have been able to rescue him.”

"And what about the people he rescued?" Ms. Maxim glanced at him sideways.

"He was taken away beforehand by that Siren Ollivander..." Karkaroff shouted, "That's cheating!"

“Oh, then why couldn’t your Viktor Krum get there before him?” Maxim said casually. “Didn’t you always boast that he was the fastest Seeker?”

"You, you're being unreasonable!"

"On the contrary, you are..."

The five referees were arguing... oh no, strictly speaking, there were four. Although Percy was there on behalf of Mr. Crouch, he didn't dare to interrupt when faced with the aggressive Karkaroff and Maxim, and could only listen quietly from the sidelines.

This continued for half an hour until almost noon, when the matter finally came to a conclusion.

Buddy Crouch (Percy), Ludo Bagman, Dumbledore, Maxim, and Karkaroff each gave scores to the warriors.

“First is Fleur Delacour. Although she was attacked by Grindelwald and failed to rescue the hostages, she still demonstrated excellent use of the Bubble Head Charm.” Dumbledore raised his wand and said loudly, “We give her a score…”

Several silver ribbons floated out from the referees' wands.

6、3、6、9、1。

A round of applause erupted from the stands.

"Twenty-five points?" Ron said in surprise. "I thought she would get zero."

“How could that be?” Hermione glanced at him. “Krum failed the first project too, but he still got points, didn’t he?”

"That seems to be the case."

Coincidentally, Krum was the second person to be rated.

5、9、6、0、10。

When the score was announced, the previously lively stands instantly fell silent.

Two of the scores were fairly average, with little change, but the other three were a bit off.

Although Krum did not fulfill the mandatory requirement of rescuing people, Ludo Bagman and Karkaroff still gave him a very high score, with the two of them scoring a combined nineteen points. Anyone who didn't know better would think that he was the only one who had come out.

“There was a slight hiccup.” Seemingly noticing everyone’s confusion, Ludo Bagman explained, “But we all agreed that it wasn’t his fault, and that the Transfiguration Charm was very effective.”
