This dungeon has mushrooms growing on it.

Chapter 254, 253 Infant-Level Dungeon

Chapter 254, Section 253: Infant-Level Dungeon
"How are we going to get across? Do you have wings or something...?" Before Torin could finish speaking, he felt a tremendous force coming from his waist!
"Aaaaaahhhhhh—!" Tolin only had time to let out a series of distorted screams before his body arced through the air. He frantically thrashed about in the air, and just as he was about to crash into the cliff face on the opposite bank, he barely managed to grab onto the edge of a protruding rock.

puff!
The immense inertia slammed his face hard against the cold rock wall, a sharp pain shot through his nose, and warm blood gushed out instantly.

But he couldn't care less about any of that; a surge of overwhelming joy at surviving the ordeal welled up inside him: "You're amazing, Glenn! I..."

He excitedly turned his head to praise his companion, but saw a burly figure already taking off!

Glenn jumped in mid-air, but unfortunately, due to the short run-up distance, the jump height was insufficient, and he could not reach the edge.

"Huh?!" Tolin stared in horror as the thick, strong hands, instead of reaching the rock, gripped his dangling legs tightly!
"Ugh—!" Torin felt a heavy force suddenly pull him downwards, and his fingers gripping the rock instantly felt a tearing pain. He was almost pulled down. "Damn it! Couldn't you have said anything before jumping?!"

"Scream! There's no time!!" Glenn hung on Torin's leg, panting heavily, equally shaken.

Torin glanced back with difficulty and saw that the edge of the cliff where they had just stood was now crowded with scarecrows. Fortunately, they were all ordinary scarecrows; if there were any that could be thrown or used to cast spells, the two of them would be sitting ducks.

Glenn tried to climb up Thorin's legs, but after only one step, both of them shuddered, and the sound of cracking rocks came from above.

Tolin shouted urgently, "Don't move! Don't climb! You'll break! Can't you grab onto the rocks around here first?"

Glenn looked around: "What can I steal from? They're all naked! There's nowhere to start!"

The stone that Tolin had been digging into cracked a little more.

"Big brother! We can't hold on with just the two of us! How about... you sacrifice yourself? I still have to go and be the greatest adventurer! I'll have your name engraved at the very bottom of the monument!"

"And I'm that nameless mercenary A who died right at the beginning? I bet you don't even know my last name!" Grlum tried to climb up quickly. "The reward you offered was high, but it's far from enough to buy my life!"

"It's really no use—!"

Click!

Rock fragments flew everywhere, and the two dwarves, huddled together, cried out in alarm as they tumbled and plummeted into the bottomless darkness below!

The two crashed and tumbled repeatedly on the steep cliff face, and just when they thought they were going to die, they suddenly landed on something soft...

It was pitch black; you couldn't see anything.

"Ouch! My precious beard!" Grlum cried out first, filled with genuine grief and indignation. He groped in the darkness for his proud beard, feeling the jagged, broken texture under his fingertips.

Tolin stretched out his limbs, sinking deeply into that unknown softness, his voice filled with the bewilderment and despair of someone who had survived a catastrophe: "Where is this? Deeper? A manor or a residence?"

He didn't even have the energy to complain about what happened to Glenn before; he just felt that fate was cruelly and unreasonably crushing him.

"It seems...neither?" Grlum's voice carried a hint of uncertainty.

Upon hearing this, Torin suddenly realized that the stinging sensation on his skin caused by the resistance to the curse had actually disappeared!
Dwarves are naturally more resistant, so they can explore the Scarecrow Abyss relatively easily. However, they should still feel a stinging sensation when attacked by the curse, but now the stinging sensation is gone!

"They're out?!" Torin's voice rose instantly, filled with unbelievable joy, but then he asked in confusion, "But...why? How did they get out?"

Chi la——!
A piercing tearing sound, accompanied by a sudden surge of light, interrupted Torin's thoughts! It was Grume, who drew his last remaining short axe and cleaved open the softness that enveloped them!
The two crawled out of the breach, using both hands and feet, and were immediately stunned by the sight before them, their mouths agape, wide enough to fit a dwarf's flatbread.

The eerie wheat fields and decaying windmills have vanished, replaced by a dreamlike forest of fluorescent mushrooms!

Countless giant mushrooms of various shapes rose from the ground, their caps like umbrellas or clouds, emitting a soft fluorescence. Tiny luminous spores floated in the air, and layers of light intertwined and flowed, like a flowing galaxy!
And the two of them also emerged from a mushroom tree!

Faced with such a beautiful view, Grimes immediately tore off a piece of his clothing to cover his mouth and nose, and Torin followed suit.

Using the light, the two turned around and saw the spatial rift at the top of the giant mushroom tree.

“So…” Grump stroked his stubble, his voice tinged with a deep sense of absurdity, “we probably… fell into another dungeon?”

"Goblins!" Torin suddenly shouted. Grum's muscles tensed instantly, his only remaining short axe held horizontally in front of him, as he warily scanned his surroundings, but found nothing but countless mushrooms and drifting spores.

“No…it seems there really are…but goblins aren’t that tall…but those green ones…” Torin rubbed his eyes, his tone becoming uncertain.

I think I just glimpsed a blurry, tall, green figure slipping behind the mushroom tree.

“If there really are goblins,” Grump spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva, his face darkening, “then it means we’ve fallen into a dungeon on demon territory. We’ve just escaped one danger only to fall into another!”

There was no way to survive if they returned to the Scarecrow Abyss, so the two could only try to explore the situation here.

The two chose a direction and carefully made their way there.

Behind a mushroom-shaped tree not far away, Dylan, looking completely bewildered and wondering why his boss had let people in, quickly reverted to his human form...

The two dwarfs stopped after walking a few steps because they encountered a cow or a horse.

Since it looked harmless, Grlum didn't make a move immediately, but frowned and examined it: "Isn't this one of those walking mushrooms you encounter in caves?"

"The correct scientific name should be Puji!" Torin corrected habitually, while leaning closer to observe. "But... why does this Puji have tentacles? Is it a new species?"

As they were talking, two more poops slowly emerged from the mushroom forest and joined the crowd watching the dwarves.

"What should we do?" Torin asked.

"What to do... let's ignore it for now. It's just a poop, it can't possibly eat people, can it? Forget about them, the important thing is to figure out which level this is!" Glenn didn't want to make too much of a commotion.

So the two dwarves continued on their way, followed by three poopi. Strangely, however, as time passed, more and more poopi gathered around them!
When they finally emerged from the edge of this fantastical and eerie mushroom forest, they were followed by no fewer than thirty or forty Puji!
They didn't attack, but simply followed silently, which was completely different from the aimless, wandering creatures they remembered.

As soon as they stepped out of the mushroom forest, a bright and open space opened up before them. It was here that they bumped into the Horn Trio, who had just finished their lottery draw.

"Two dwarves...?" Horn looked at the dwarf group he had never seen in the dungeon before, especially the puji group behind them, his eyes filled with surprise.

When Grlum realized that the person opposite him was human, his tense nerves instantly relaxed, and a look of relief and ecstatic joy appeared on his face!
"Humans! It's humans!" He slapped his thigh excitedly, suddenly realizing, "And there's a Puji! I get it! This isn't some demon's hellhole, this is the Amethyst Underground City on human territory!"

Torin immediately realized: "Is that the Amethyst Dungeon, which is known as the 'cradle of beginners' and 'safe enough to bring a baby for a walk'?"

"Yes! That's it!" Glenn nodded vigorously, his tone light and cheerful. "There are only ten floors in total, and the monster levels on each floor are clearly marked. As long as you don't do anything stupid, it's safer than a mine! A perfect infant-level dungeon!"

He turned to the three horn-wielding men and shouted in a loud voice, in heavily accented Common, "Hey! Human friends, this is the Amethyst Dungeon, isn't it?"

The two dwarves were speaking Common, while the true dwarven language was only known to royalty and historians, so the three horn-wielders could hear their conversation clearly.

When questioned, Amy turned her face away, clearly displeased that the other party was so dismissive of her dungeon.

Horn found the two dwarves odd; why would anyone ask such a question?

But he still nodded cautiously: "That's right, this is the Amethyst Dungeon."

Once confirmed, Glenn's last bit of vigilance vanished.

He looked around at the slowly swaying poops, especially a few blocking his way.

"Ha! Then this must be the first or second floor! I was so nervous for nothing!" He laughed loudly, as if to vent his previous frustration. Amid the shouts of "Stop!" from the three horn-wielding men, he swung his short axe and, with the broad axe head, like swatting a fly, forcefully slapped the nearest one hard!
The broken piece flew far away.

"What...what are you doing?!"

Amidst the horn's terrified, distorted cries, a bewildered Tolin was thrown away by the sudden shockwave of the explosion...
