Dragon Clan: Avoid the College Entrance Examination to Slay the Dragon
Chapter 65 Attacking the Fortress
Chapter 65 Attacking the Fortress
Ye Sheng and the Executive Officer, codenamed "Skeleton," moved at high speed through the port area. The bodies of Sinaloa Cartel members in the buildings lay in strange positions. Some leaned against the railings, still drawing their guns, while others maintained their gait. All had fatal wounds concentrated between their eyebrows or throats.
"Look," the skeleton suddenly reminded him. Ye Sheng's golden pupils narrowed slightly as he saw dense flashes of gunfire erupting from the five-story office building in the distance.
"Team leader, tell Group Three that we are approaching from the north." Ye Sheng pressed the headset.
"Please wait, the call is being transferred. Group three, please note, our team's support is approaching." Walker replied.
The communication channel suddenly exploded with the sound of heavy machine gun fire, and a rough male voice shouted: "Hello? Report your location!"
"We will approach from the north, don't point your guns at the northwest corner!" Ye Sheng bent down and ran quickly.
The channel suddenly fell silent for two seconds, and the voice suddenly rose: "Xiao Ye? What the hell! You're here too!"
Ye Sheng stopped and asked, "Brother Baibai?"
"Come here quickly! We'll talk when we meet!" The man was still full of energy in the hail of bullets.
The two men followed the shadows into the northwest corner of the office building. The concrete exterior was riddled with spiral bullet holes, and the air was thick with the acrid smell of tear gas.
When Ye Sheng dodged behind a container, a slender Tang sword was suddenly pressed against his throat, and the sword turned horizontally the moment his face was seen clearly.
"You little brat!" The burly man, who was nearly two meters tall, opened his arms. Ye Sheng's bones creaked as his arms were clamped like iron clamps, and the ceramic plates on his tactical vest made a whine.
"My ribs are about to break." Ye Sheng struggled and punched the other man's back. "Bai Zhenguo, be gentle!"
"You are still so thin!" Bai Zhenguo released the bear hug, and his beard was stained with blood from someone unknown.
Ye Sheng punched the other person in the chest: "Aren't you in the southwest branch in China? Why are you here?" He noticed that Bai Zhenguo had a bloody bandage on his left arm.
"The country is pretty stable now. After we busted that gang in southern Yunnan last year, I was so bored I felt like mushrooms were growing in my bones," Bai Zhenguo said. "I applied for a transfer from the bureau mid-year, hoping to make a name for myself abroad. But guess what? Those bastards kept me on hold for two months!"
Ye Sheng was about to respond when Bai Zhenguo suddenly pulled him down by his tactical vest. A burst of machine gun bullets raked the container's roof, sparks plowing crimson furrows across the steel.
"Watch out for stray bullets!" The skeleton slid closer, sticking close to the container. The sound beneath the skull mask was like sandpaper scraping against the ground. "We need to reminisce after the area is cleared."
Bai Zhenguo glanced at the skull pattern on the mask and suddenly laughed out loud. "Is this taciturn guy your new partner? He's far inferior to Miss Yaji." He then nudged Ye Sheng's lower back with the barrel of his gun. "Where's that girl? Didn't she come with you?"
"Interrogating prisoners on a freighter." Ye Sheng's ears turned red as he waved his hand to slap the other man's gun barrel away. "Don't pry into other people's private affairs."
"Okay, I'm talking too much!"
Bai Zhenguo suppressed his smile, pulled out a folded blueprint, and laid it on the ammunition box. The edges of the blueprint were stained with brown blood. He traced an arc with his thumb along the west side of the house. "Those rookies in Group 4 had the west ammunition depot blown up, which alarmed the drug dealers in the entire building, turning the raid into a decisive battle. Now there are machine guns mounted on every window in the building, and there might be a heavy firepower unit hidden on the third floor."
Ye Sheng's pupils constricted slightly. Through the broken glass curtain wall, he could see a flash of orange-red figure behind a window on the third floor. The thermal imaging showed the rectangular object on the man's shoulder emitting a dangerously high temperature.
"We can't use heavy firepower yet." Bai Zhenguo poked the center of the blueprint with his index finger. "This building is the Sinaloa Cartel's accounting office. The underground vault may contain records of their transactions with North America."
He turned to look behind the office building, where the outline of a giant warehouse could be vaguely seen at the end of the container yard. "This building is also the only way to get to the core warehouse in the port area. We have to uproot it."
The skeleton suddenly spoke: "What is the attack plan?"
Bai Zhenguo grinned, revealing his sharp white teeth. He clapped Ye Sheng's right hand, like a bear paw, on the back. "Xiao Ye's sniping skills are among the best in Kassel. You two find a sniper position and knock out the RPGs on the third floor and the machine gun positions on the fourth floor. I'll lead the assault team through the fire escape."
Ye Sheng was about to nod when he suddenly caught sight of a half-photo of Bai Zhenguo peeking out from the side pocket of his tactical vest. A gentle woman in a cheongsam was smiling at the edge of the yellowed photo. "How's my sister-in-law?"
"We're in a frontal firefight. This woman is out of control when she gets crazy." Bai Zhenguo stuffed the photo back into his pocket and suddenly lowered his voice, "Don't tell her I'm injured again, you hear me?"
Ye Sheng smiled and made an OK sign with his index finger and thumb. Bai Zhenguo turned around and said, "With your spiritual power, you should be responsible for the breakthrough, but your marksmanship is more important here. Go!"
The two men crossed the container yard and finally stopped at the steel skeleton of an abandoned tower crane. A Z-shaped iron ladder was embedded vertically in the concrete base. Ye Sheng swept across the third platform. In the maintenance passage corroded by sea salt, the half-open inspection door formed a natural shelter.
The skeleton was the first to climb up the shaky ladder, followed closely by Ye Sheng.
"Wind speed 7 meters per second, southeast by east," the skeleton reported, the red dot of the laser rangefinder bouncing on the third-floor window frame. "About 403 meters in a straight line."
Ye Sheng took off Yaji's Mk11 sniper rifle, and suddenly stopped when his fingertips stroked the gun body. Most of the things on it had been adjusted!
He shook his head and chuckled: "This girl..."
"Two o'clock, second floor, third window." The skeleton reported: "Behind the curtains, holding an AKM."
The crosshairs sliced through the gray-green curtains. In the thermal image, an orange figure was seen adjusting the magazine, cigarette in hand. Ye Sheng's index finger pulled the trigger at a steady pace. The 7.62mm bullet pierced the glass and exploded in the target's forehead, creating a bloody mess.
"RPG! West side of the third floor!" The skeleton suddenly growled.
In the scope, the burly man carrying the bazooka was adjusting the angle behind the window frame. Ye Sheng quickly rotated and adjusted, the crosshairs firmly grasping the man's right knee, which was exposed outside the window. The moment the bullet passed through the patella, the uncontrolled rocket exploded in the room, and the shockwave threw three figures into the air.
"Fourth floor, east end, M249 machine gunner." Ye Sheng had already opened fire as the skeleton announced the location. The figure in the scope, who was changing the ammunition belt, suddenly froze, and smoke billowed from the bullet hole in the bulletproof plate.
When the sixth shell rolled down, the firepower network of the entire office building suddenly became sparse. Seeing this, Bai Zhenguo loaded his shotgun.
"Follow me!"
Five commandos leaped out of cover like cheetahs. The petite woman at the end suddenly accelerated, her black ponytail trailing an inky black trail in the smoke. "Bai Zhenguo, your magic cloak!"
As she ran, she threw out two stun grenades, which accurately hit the broken window on the second floor.
The remaining machine gunner on the third floor finally reacted, and an M249 began to spew out flames.
Just as the torrent of bullets threatened to engulf the squad, Bai Zhenguo suddenly clenched his right fist. Within a three-meter radius centered on him, the air suddenly twisted and distorted like water waves. A flood of bullets struck the barrier, creating blue ripples like a torrential rain crashing against an invisible glass dome.
"Is it actually a dust-free place?" The skeleton paused while adjusting the observation mirror.
Ye Sheng's seventh bullet pierced the head of the machine gunner who was reloading. "He's very powerful."
Before he could finish his words, he suddenly turned the gun around and shot the gunman who was leaning out from the second floor.
Bai Zhenguo led his team into the building. The petite woman behind him seized the opportunity to unleash her grappling hook, using the momentum to swing her slender figure onto the second-floor windowsill. Her dual-wielded Uzi submachine guns unleashed a barrage of bullets, riddling the two drug dealers before they could turn.
"I've already attacked! Xiaoye, remember to continue covering us!" Bai Zhenguo reminded.
Upon hearing this, Ye Sheng continued to maintain his shoulder-to-shoulder posture, and the crosshairs continued to move among the smoke-filled buildings.
