Chapter 69 Mission Briefing

Gu Yi pushed open the door to conference room B3. Under the cold white light of the conference room, Finger was leaning against Caesar's chair. "President, look! I've long said that the Student Union should establish a system for regular equipment maintenance."

Caesar slumped lazily in his chair. "Why don't I see you at every student union meeting?"

"President, please understand!" Finkel held up three fingers. "Those who go every day are not necessarily loyal, and those who don't go are not necessarily disloyal!"

Chu Zihang sat quietly opposite. When he heard the door open, he raised his head slightly and then nodded.

When he saw who was coming, Caesar suddenly laughed out loud: "I thought of it, you will definitely come too."

Gu Yi closed the door behind him and asked, "Did Norma say what she wanted to do?"

"It only said to gather at B3 before five o'clock, nothing else." Caesar answered casually.

"What?!" Finger suddenly jumped up from his chair. "The vice-president clearly told me to come and accept the Cassel Annual Outstanding Individual Award!"

Gu Yi walked to the empty seat to Chu Zihang's right and sat down. "How many courses did you fail last semester?"

"Five subjects," Finkel's voice suddenly dropped, and he straightened up suddenly: "What if the professors discover my hidden potential?"

"Should I say you are shameless or confident?" Gu Yi held his forehead with his hand.

Chu Zihang placed his sword across his knees: "According to the Executive Department's practice, emergency gatherings are usually mission briefings."

"Indeed. It's very similar to the format when Caesar and I were recruited last time." Gu Yi agreed.

Finger collapsed into his chair and wailed, "It's over! Going on a mission with three of you perverts? By then, not only will the corpse be intact, but even the urn won't be full!"

"It's not that exaggerated." A hoarse voice suddenly sounded. Schneider pushed the door open and walked in.

The three of them stood up at the same time, "Professor."

"Sit down." The Executive Director raised his hand to signal.

Finger leaned over the edge of the table and asked, "Director, please tell me for sure. Could it be that the Dragon King has awakened?"

"No."

"That's good," Finkel breathed a sigh of relief, "At least the urn can be filled."

Gu Yi stared at Schneider, "What is the mission?"

The Executive Director's scarred finger flicked across the projector switch, and blue light streamed across the wall. The picture froze in downtown Baltimore.

"Infiltration mission. There's a secret auction next Wednesday in Baltimore. Your mission is to infiltrate that location."

"What's the reason?" Caesar raised his hand.

"We suspect that someone is illegally selling relics of the dragon civilization at this auction." Schneider pulled up a dozen blurry photos of artifacts.

“Do we know the identity of the seller?”

"Have you heard of the Sinaloa Cartel?" Schneider looked at the four people.

"I've heard of it," Chu Zihang replied. "It's a super drug gang entrenched in Central America. The current leader is codenamed 'Yaka'. No one knows his true identity. The CIA has organized several attempts to capture him, but they've never been successful."

"I didn't expect the CIA to do good things!" Finger exclaimed. "You're wrong," Chu Zihang denied. "The main reason the CIA arrested him was because he refused to cooperate and aggressively took over drug cartels that had a cooperative relationship with the CIA."

"I take back what I said." Finkel responded weakly.

"Chu Zihang's introduction was excellent. It's them." Schneider pulled up the transaction records. "Over the past three years, the number of cultural relic smuggling cases handled by this organization has increased by 400% year-on-year. Our investigations have revealed that many of these cases are related to the Dragon Civilization."

"Why would a drug dealer suddenly switch gears and start smuggling cultural relics? Is he trying to prove himself by crossing over?" Finkel shook his head.

"That's understandable. It is said that their drug distribution network is spread throughout the Americas, and they can easily resell those dragon relics. Those networks can transport tons of drugs without being discovered. They are simply perfect smuggling channels. I am a buyer and I trust them." Caesar replied.

"That's right. The Enforcement Bureau has identified thirty-seven smuggling nodes across North America, but we still don't have a handle on Sinaloa's core management." The projection screen instantly switched to thirteen gray figures. "It's said there are thirteen of them. But even within the group, few have seen them."

"Thirteen? Are they trying to gather for the last supper?"

"According to the tip," Schneider completely ignored Finkel's nonsense, "a 'big shot' will be present at the auction on Wednesday. Your mission is to sneak into the auction, wait for this person to appear, and capture him alive."

"What happens after capturing him alive?" Caesar asked.

A map of North America unfurled on the wall, dozens of red dots emerging like blisters. "When you give the signal, we will storm the scene and arrest everyone present. The Executive Bureau will also act simultaneously across the United States, destroying all their nodes simultaneously and paralyzing the entire distribution network."

Chu Zihang placed his hands flat on the conference table: "Then what identity should we use to sneak in there?"

Schneider pressed the remote control, and the blue light of the projection went out. "North American Half-Blood Alliance."

"Han Gao's man? What does he have to do with this matter?" Caesar frowned.

"Over the past month, intelligence cross-checks have revealed financial transactions between the North American Hybrid Alliance and the Sinaloa Cartel. Not long ago, Vice President Flamel accompanied the President on a special visit to Henkel's estate..."

"Visiting is too polite," Caesar sneered. "I guess the principal went to 'visit' with a jackknife, right?"

"The process is not important. After some unpleasant negotiations and some pleasant deals, Henkel agreed to provide identity credentials. You will enter as observers of the North American Half-Blood Alliance."

Gu Yi turned to look at Caesar, "Who is he?"

"Han Gao... He was the most famous Western gunslinger of the 19th century, and now he's the leader of the North American Half-Blood Alliance. They're like..." Caesar paused, searching for the right words, "the shadow government of the Half-Blood world, using mafia tactics to maintain the underground order of the Half-Blood world."

"So that's how it is." Gu Yi suddenly realized, "Then we can't touch them?"

Caesar uttered a short breath through his nose, "Han Gao is half our ally. After all, when it comes to slaying the dragon, we can barely be considered a community of interests."

"Let me correct you," Schneider said emphatically, "Hankel is our dubious ally. Don't completely trust any assurances he gives you in this operation."

Finkel suddenly jumped up from his chair. "Director! I feel the overwhelming pressure of this mission. So, may I ask why I am on the list for this mission?"

"You should ask the principal about this." Schneider's gray eyes swept over Finkel, "He personally wrote your name on the warrant."

Finger slumped back into his seat as if his spine had been torn out, lamenting, "I must have been caught stealing the caviar from his refrigerator! I knew that beluga caviar was a scam!"

The Executive Director completely ignored Finkel's performance and turned to the other three people: "Any more questions?"

Chu Zihang shook his head silently, Caesar spread his hands to indicate that he was fine, Gu Yi stared at the projection wall thoughtfully, and finally shook his head slightly.

"Very good." Schneider stood up and said, "Go back and get ready. We'll leave at 7 o'clock sharp."
