Chapter 345 The Greatly Wise Arhat
Unlike the other three major Taoist temples, Dajue Temple is not located in high mountains and deep valleys, nor is it surrounded by beautiful scenery. Instead, it is hidden deep in the center of a bustling ordinary city.

This is a Buddhist city, where almost every family believes in Buddhism and chants scriptures.

Originally, this was an ancient battlefield. When the first patriarch of Dajue Temple traveled here, he saw the countless white bones on the ancient battlefield and suddenly felt compassion. He entered into a deep meditation here. Ten years later, he seemed to awaken from a great dream, shed his mortal body, and achieved the immaculate Buddha body. He then established the lineage here.

Upholding the belief of saving all sentient beings, Dajue Temple has never prohibited ordinary people from visiting. Those who wanted to escape war and famine gradually gathered here, thus forming this prosperous Buddhist city.

The city of Buddha was originally only about ten miles in circumference, but it gradually expanded and eventually occupied the entire plain on which it was located, extending to the mountains surrounding the plain in all directions. Its population reached an astonishing ten million, making it arguably the largest city in the entire Qionghua Continent.

If it weren't for the influence of the exalted status of the Great Awakening Zen Temple, such a large city would simply be impossible to maintain given the level of governance in this world.

Zhou Qing had heard of this famous Buddhist city long ago, so after leaving Qingxu Dao Palace, the first place he came to was here, wanting to see how this strange Buddhist city was maintained.

But he soon realized that his idea probably couldn't be realized.

As Zhou Qing emerged from the mountains and headed towards the gateway to the Buddhist city, he saw a young monk.

The monk looked to be only about twenty years old. He was dressed in a clean, thin white robe and had a handsome and approachable appearance that made people feel close to him. However, his empty and lifeless eyes ruined the flawless appearance of his solemn face.

Zhou Qing stopped a few steps in front of the white-robed monk.

"Greetings, Benefactor Zhou."

The white-robed monk said with a smile.

Zhou Qing said, "Da Cong Luohan knew I was coming... Oh, I suppose there was a message from Qingxu Dao Palace. They reacted quickly."

The Great Arhat shook his head and said, "This humble monk has not received any information. I only saw that their operation was bound to fail, so I waited here specifically for you, benefactor, to prevent a calamity for the people of this city."

When the four Nascent Soul cultivators besieged Zhou Qing, they sought guidance from the Great Wise Arhat.
The Great Arhat saw Zhou Qing's figure with his future vision, surrounded by thick blood light, within which a mysterious and indescribable quality emanated, instantly stripping him of his future vision.

But at the last moment, he still managed to catch a glimpse of what was happening and knew that the four-man encirclement was doomed to fail.

If the four fail, Zhou Qing will surely take advantage of the emptiness of the four Dao Palaces to seize the treasures. He has already been injured and is powerless to stop it. If he takes action in the city, the people inside will suffer an unknown calamity.

So he waited here in advance, specifically for Zhou Qing's arrival.

Zhou Qing asked curiously, "Since you saw them fail, why didn't you stop them from going?"

The Great Arhat shook his head and said, "Although they failed, the consequences of their failure are not unacceptable. If we change the future, who knows what unforeseen variables might arise?"

"How should a person with foresight deal with their relationship with the future? This is a paradox, and I can only proceed with caution."

Zhou Qing nodded and said, "Luohan must already know why I've come."

The Great Arhat said, "Benefactor wishes to collect seven treasures to prepare for his Nascent Soul stage."

"However, you will be disappointed, benefactor. This humble monk has already notified Tingyue Lake and Eshan Sword Sect in advance, asking them to destroy this treasure they have preserved."

"After you leave, please return to the Western Continent, for the path to becoming a Nascent Soul in Qionghua Continent has been severed."

Zhou Qing's heart skipped a beat, a wave of annoyance washing over him. He said, "The Arhat just said that those who have foreseen the future should not arbitrarily interfere with it, yet he has already taken this disruptive action of severing the path to Nascent Soul in Qionghua Continent. Isn't that incredibly fickle?" The Great Wise Arhat looked bitter and said, "Forgive me, forgive me!"

"This humble monk is ultimately unable to fully comprehend the matter, and my resolve is not yet firm enough to allow me to sit idly by and watch you collect all seven treasures."

“The ominous aura emanating from you is too strong. Once you reach the Nascent Soul stage, no one in the entire Qionghua Continent will be able to control you. The consequences would be too severe, so this humble monk has no choice but to make an exception.”

He had long understood that the highest level of foresight lies in quiet observation, erasing one's own "self" as much as possible, and becoming an observer of the ever-changing world.

The more I erase myself, the more I become one with the flow of nature.

This is the opportunity for those who foresee the truth to attain enlightenment.

But the Great Arhat could not relinquish the compassion in his heart, nor could he allow the being shrouded in bloodlight that he saw to have the opportunity to ascend to the highest realm.

After much hesitation, he finally spread the news to Tingyue Lake and Eshan Sword Sect before Zhou Qing arrived, asking them to destroy their respective treasures, thereby severing the entire Qionghua Continent from Zhou Qing's path to immortality.

Because of his cultivation of the ability to see into the future, and because he has always been highly respected and trusted in Qionghua Continent, those two families would not hesitate to receive his message. By now, those treasures have probably already vanished.

Having committed such a grave sin, the Great Wise Arhat could not help but feel deeply guilty.

After silently reciting a few lines of scripture, the Great Wise Arhat said again, "Even so, when it comes to doing it myself, this humble monk still cannot bear to."

"The treasures of the other families are nothing special, but the flesh fungus of my Great Awakening Temple has become a spirit, so it is not advisable to kill it rashly."

"Since the treasures can no longer be gathered, we might as well give it to you, benefactor. Heaven cherishes life, and we hope you will treat it well."

After saying this, the Great Arhat gently handed a brocade box to Zhou Qing.

Zhou Qing caught the brocade box, wondering if the monk might be hiding some terrifying magic or supernatural power in it.

The monk's demeanor was so convincing that it easily won people's trust. After examining the box repeatedly, Zhou Qing opened it and found a chubby little man about three inches tall inside, as well as a small horse of about the same size.

Upon seeing Zhou Qing, the little man was so frightened that he flailed his limbs and scrambled onto the pony's back, trying to escape the brocade box.

The little horse, carrying the little man on its back, leaped out of the brocade box, but was caught by Zhou Qing in mid-air.

Zhou Qing brought the little man and the little horse close to his eyes and immediately smelled a refreshing fragrance. He felt invigorated and his mind became much clearer.

It is indeed an extraordinary treasure.

The monk ordered all the other families to destroy their treasures so he wouldn't get them, but he couldn't bear to harm any living beings, so he left the flesh fungus behind and gave it to him. It all seems a bit contrived.

The Arhat Mahavira said, “This man and this horse are male and female. If you raise them together, they may be able to reproduce.”

Zhou Qing nodded and smiled, "Luohan ruined my plan, but then gave me this meat fungus. I can't really hold a grudge against Dajue Temple."
