Chapter 304 Miaoyu's Blessing at Longcui Nunnery (Part 2)

Inside the warm pavilion of Longcui Nunnery, Chu Yan and Xiuyan chatted with Miaoyu for a while. This nun, who practiced Buddhism with her hair still intact, gradually regained her composure. If she hadn't been still nestled in Chu Yan's arms, people outside who heard the sounds would have thought she was having a serious conversation with the Emperor.

After a while, Chu Yan noticed that Miao Yu's face was flushed. He reached out and stroked her forehead and neck, saying, "You felt hot but didn't say anything. Come on, take off your clothes!"

Miaoyu trembled, turned to look at him, then quickly lowered her head and said, "Your Majesty, please let go, I will get off the kang and sit down."

Chu Yan laughed and said, "We're not hot, so why are you sweating?"

Miaoyu said calmly, "The kang is burning hot, and you're wearing a padded jacket, how can you not be hot?"

Chu Yan said, "So you have to take off your clothes."

As he spoke, he began to take action, removing her coat, then another garment, and finally untied her red silk skirt, throwing them all onto the chair beside her. He then wrapped her in a quilt and carried her and Xiuyan together into the quilt.

Xiuyan smiled in his arms and softly called out, "Your Majesty."

Miaoyu barely struggled, perhaps knowing that resistance would be futile. It wasn't until her clothes were removed and she was pulled into his arms, their chests pressed together, that she panicked, her face flushed, and she began to push him away.

Chu Yan put his arm around Miao Yu's slender waist and said with a smile, "Master Miao Yu, it's best not to move. If you don't know why, just ask Xiu Yan."

Having been favored, Xiuyan already knew what it felt like to wriggle around in a man's arms.

Miaoyu blushed, glanced at Xiuyan a few times, and said, "You two are in cahoots. She is already your concubine. Why would I ask her?"

Xiuyan smiled and said, "Master, what His Majesty meant was that if you stop moving, His Majesty will stop teasing you. We came here today to have tea."

Miaoyu sneered: "Just drinking tea? I wonder if those fools outside even believe that!"

Upon hearing this, Chu Yan reached out and stroked her cheek again, teasing her. Miao Yu remained indifferent, but a blush appeared on her face as she frowned and glared angrily.

It must be said that even when angry, a beautiful woman's angry expression is still endearing. The ancients said that a beautiful woman's every frown and smile is captivating, which is a truly apt description!
Chu Yan looked at her and smiled, "Miaoyu is indeed one of the Twelve Beauties of Jinling, with exquisite features. I like her very much!"

Miaoyu was both ashamed and angry. What man in the world would hold her and say such things? Only the emperor, the supreme ruler on the dragon throne, could break into her inner quarters, hold her on the kang (heated brick bed) in her Longcui Nunnery, and tease her as he pleased!
But for no apparent reason, upon seeing his face, the shame and annoyance in her heart turned into a faint joy, which softened her tone. Pointing at Xiuyan, she said, "My disciple is not among the Twelve Beauties, yet His Majesty likes her. When Granny Feng married and had a daughter, His Majesty also took her as a concubine. Could it be that Leng Zixing has some divine calculations that compel His Majesty to take all twelve beauties as concubines?"

Chu Yan chuckled, kissed Xiuyan first, and said, "Whether it's the main hairpin or the secondary hairpin, I like Xiuyan. As for you, I initially wanted you because of my feelings for the Twelve Beauties, but now I like you too. If I don't appreciate a beauty like Miaoyu, wouldn't she be pitying herself?"

Miaoyu remained silent. Seeing this, Chu Yan embraced her, leaned in and kissed her cheek. Seeing that she did not resist, he lowered his head and kissed her.

He knew that Miaoyu must be conflicted and confused at this moment, so it would be better to cut the Gordian knot and let her stop thinking about it and enter the palace as a concubine in peace.

Sure enough, after kissing her rosy lips a few times, Miaoyu shyly closed her eyes, letting Chu Yan do as he pleased.

Xiuyan was also in Chu Yan's arms, watching the two kiss up close.

One was her emperor husband, and the other was her childhood friend, who was both her teacher and her friend.

But at this moment, he kissed her right in front of her.

Her emperor husband was fond of beautiful women, and even when kissing Miaoyu, he would still hold her waist.

Miaoyu was both shy and flustered as the Emperor led her, awkwardly savoring the pleasures of love between a man and a woman.

After a while, the two separated. Chu Yan was very satisfied. Looking at Miao Yu, who was panting and had a face as red as the morning sun, he reached out and hugged her waist tightly, letting her lean against his chest. Then he lowered his head and kissed Xiu Yan.

He and Xiuyan had just gotten married and were in the throes of their honeymoon. Xiuyan was a gentle and virtuous girl, and when Chu Yan kissed her, she would obediently respond.

After a while, when Xiuyan finished kissing and was catching her breath, Miaoyu said in embarrassment and annoyance, "You've ruined this rare quiet place of mine!"

Xiuyan laughed and advised her, "Tomorrow, have someone change the plaque of Longcui Nunnery to Longcui Hall, move the Buddha statue to another place, and let the young nuns grow their hair back."

Miaoyu sneered, "The plaque can be changed, but people's hearts cannot be changed. After I left home, I followed my master to cultivate for ten years. Even if I am not in the Buddhist hall, I am still half a Buddhist!"

Chu Yan laughed and said, "Why is it only half?"

Miaoyu, whose face had just been blushed from his kiss, refused to answer him.

Chu Yan reached out, first removing her hairpin and hair ornament, then ruffling her hair, letting Miaoyu's long black hair hang down.

Having grown accustomed to seeing Miaoyu dressed as a nun, the sight of her long, flowing black hair now was breathtaking. Xiuyan couldn't help but stroke her hair a few times, saying, "Your hair is more abundant and beautiful than most people's. When it's tied up, you look somewhat like a nun, but now that it's down, you're truly a great beauty!"

Miaoyu stood there, stunned.

Chu Yan ran his fingers through her thick, black hair, cupped her head, kissed her cheek twice, and sighed, "Wouldn't it be a pity if Miaoyu spent the rest of her life with only the company of a Buddhist monk and a lamp?"

Miaoyu looked at him with a wistful gaze: "Would it be a pity if I entered the palace to become your concubine? There are plenty of beauties in the world, and even His Majesty feels it's a pity?"

Chu Yan laughed and said, "I haven't seen anyone else, only you. And with you all here, there's no need to order the various counties to select concubines. I have enough with you!"

How many imperial concubines emerged from the Grand View Garden?
Even the most lustful person should be content after having the Twelve Beauties of the Red Chamber, the Twelve Secondary Beauties, and then another secondary beauty.

Besides, there's Baoqin too.

And a genuine fairy.

Miaoyu turned her back and said, "I am devoted to reciting Buddhist scriptures. I hope Your Majesty will grant my request!"

Xiuyan got up and looked at the expression on Miaoyu's face. She quickly went back to give her husband a look, meaning that as long as she said a few more nice words, Miaoyu would soften and agree.

Now that things have come to this, what else could she do but agree? Chu Yan had kept her at the Longcui Nunnery, made her a concubine, and even kissed her.

but.

Chu Yan laughed and said, "Master Miaoyu, how about we make a bet?" He added, "I have always looked down on Buddhism and Taoism, and I have never made a bet with Buddhists before, only sending troops to besiege them. Today, I'm betting with half of the Buddhists."

"What are we betting on?" Miaoyu turned around and looked at her.

Chu Yan reached out and pulled Miao Yu, who was sitting on his waist, into his arms again. This time she was more compliant. Even though her chest was pressed against his and the two were very close, she did not struggle.

Chu Yan said, "It's a contest of willpower. What you Buddhists excel at, such as when Shakyamuni attained Buddhahood, and the contest of magic between the Tripitaka Master and the monk in Chechi Kingdom in Journey to the West, all involve a contest of willpower."

Miaoyu smiled for the first time in a long time, her expression even a little playful: "Your Majesty wants to compete with me in willpower?"

Chu Yan stroked her face with his fingers. Miao Yu was a little shy, but she was also used to the teasing touch from this man.

Xiuyan lay on His Majesty's right, watching with a smile, without saying a word.

Chu Yan stroked Miaoyu's beautiful, aloof face for a while before saying, "It's not about comparing yourself to me, it's about comparing yourself to yourself." He then smiled and asked, "Miaoyu, do you know the story of when Shakyamuni Buddha attained enlightenment?"

How could anyone who practices Buddhism not know this?

Upon hearing this, Miaoyu immediately knew what he wanted to gamble on and how he wanted to gamble. Her face first flushed with shyness, and after a long while, she asked with some surprise, "Your Majesty wants me to become a Bodhisattva?"

Chu Yan smiled and said, "If Miaoyu becomes a Bodhisattva, I will no longer make things difficult for you. But if she doesn't..."

Miaoyu didn't answer, only saying, "My heart is beyond worldly affairs, but I haven't truly cultivated it. If Your Majesty were to personally try to break my resolve, I... would be no match." After that time at the thatched hut in Qingtang, she broke her vow of celibacy...

Chu Yan pulled Xiuyan along and said, "I'll come with your disciple."

Miaoyu looked over and saw that Xiuyan had already blushed and lowered her head.

She looked at the two of them with shame and anger, and after a long while, she reluctantly said, "I promise you! But it can't be today, it has to be tomorrow..."

She had already lost before the competition even started.

Chu Yan readily agreed and continued to hold her. Perhaps to strengthen her resolve for tomorrow's cultivation, Miaoyu this time leaned into his embrace and said to Xiuyan, "The Buddha said that humans suffer eight kinds of pain: separation from loved ones, hatred and resentment..."

Xiuyan just smiled until Chu Yan's hand fell below Miaoyu's waist. When Xiuyan saw her body tremble violently, she knew that Master Miaoyu was probably going to lose the meditation practice tomorrow.

Chu Yan had a significant advantage, but he did not press his advantage.

In the evening, Xiuyan and I had a vegetarian meal at Longcui Nunnery, and the three of us went out for a walk and to admire the plum blossoms.

Miaoyu said, "The plum blossoms will be in bloom in a few days."

Chu Yan looked at the plum blossom buds on the branches and nodded, saying, "When they bloom, we'll come here to admire the plum blossoms and start a poetry club. You can join the club too."

Miaoyu smiled and said, "Third Miss's poetry club is very well run, but everything needs to be done in moderation. The more people in the club, the less interesting it is. It's best to have two or three people discussing poetry late at night to create a poetic atmosphere. Otherwise, if a large group of people are crowded under the plum blossom tree, there will be no inspiration for poetry at all!"

Chu Yan chuckled to himself; she really didn't like crowds.

Xiuyan smiled and said, "There are charms to being quiet, and there are also advantages to being lively. When there are two or three people, you can brew tea and chat, and write elegant and serene poems. When there are many people, it is lively and festive, and your poems are unrestrained and bold."

Chu Yanzan said, "That's very true. People need the quiet of solitude, but also the interest in lively gatherings with others, in order to cultivate their minds and bodies."

Miaoyu just laughed and said, "You two are trying to mess with me again. Fine, fine, I won't talk to you anymore. You should go back. It's getting late."

Chu Yan nodded, and as he was about to leave, he smiled at her and said, "We're leaving now. We'll come again tomorrow. Miaoyu, remember to meditate and cultivate your concentration tonight!"

These words made both Miaoyu and Xiuyan blush.

The next day came in a flash.

After noon, when Chu Yan brought Xiuyan to Longcui Nunnery, he saw Miaoyu and noticed that her face was flushed.

She forced a smile and asked, "How...how are we going to compare? Your emperor's concubines..."

Xiuyan blushed and whispered, "Let's go back to Nuan Pavilion."

Chu Yan said in a serious tone, "Since we're going to cultivate concentration, it should be done in the Buddhist hall!"

Upon hearing this, Miaoyu hurriedly said, "Do not desecrate the Buddha statue!"

Chu Yan laughed and said, "Alright, it's cold outside, so let's go back to Nuange. However, I really liked the gray monk's robes you wore the other day, and I'd like to see them again today."

Miaoyu's heart trembled, and her face was already flushed. Seeing that Xiuyan was blushing and not speaking, and Chu Yan insisted that she go back to change her clothes, she could only cover her face and return to her room.

The young nuns in the backyard were all driven away, leaving only Xiangling and Yuanyang. They sat on the veranda and soon saw Miaoyu, who had changed her clothes.

At first, the two of them didn't understand why His Majesty had asked Miaoyu to change her clothes, but when they saw Miaoyu now, they finally understood!

Miaoyu, with her exquisite figure, was dressed in a gray monk's robe and a monk's hat, looking every bit like a nun in a temple.

But this stunningly beautiful young nun was going to wear the temple's austere robes and enter the warm chamber, perhaps to please the emperor.

Only after comparing the two did they realize the deeper meaning behind His Majesty's request for Miaoyu to change her clothes!
The two watched as Miaoyu, her face flushed with embarrassment, entered the warm pavilion and then closed the door.

"Your Majesty is really..." Yuanyang said, suppressing a laugh.

Xiangling smiled shyly and didn't say a word.

A moment later, His Majesty's voice came from inside: "Xiangling, go and get a wooden fish."

Xiangling was immediately stunned, and Yuanyang was also dumbfounded. After a while, Xiangling hurriedly went to get her things. When she returned, she opened the door of the warm pavilion and saw that Miaoyu was already meditating inside, while Miss Xing's clothes were placed aside and held in His Majesty's arms, covered with a quilt.

Xiangling handed over the wooden fish, and Chu Yan pointed at Miaoyu and said, "Give the wooden fish and the stick to Miaoyu. Master Miaoyu is about to start chanting scriptures."

Xiangling noticed that Miaoyu's face had turned even redder.

Xiangling handed the wooden fish to the beautiful nun who was practicing with her hair still intact, and then left the room. Just a moment later, she heard rhythmic tapping of the wooden fish and chanting coming from the warm pavilion.

after a little while.

A celestial maiden appeared, tempting the Bodhisattva to fall into depravity. Her voice was captivating. The mandarin ducks heard the wooden fish drum sound gradually becoming disordered, sometimes loud and sometimes off-key. This showed that the Bodhisattva in the warm pavilion was not cultivated enough and was not able to enter a meditative state.

The sounds of scriptures and wooden fish, mixed with the voices of celestial maidens, continued for half an hour before finally ceasing.

Xiuyan was exhausted and lay down to rest, wrapped in a blanket.

On one side of the kang, Miaoyu was still sitting cross-legged, striking the wooden fish and chanting sutras, seemingly detached and unmoved.

Taking advantage of the warmth from his recent exercise, Chu Yan went over and embraced her slender waist, saying, "The Buddhist scriptures say that when Shakyamuni Buddha attained enlightenment, Mara, the demon king, sent three celestial maidens to tempt him, but the Buddha resisted the temptation. Today, my beloved concubine Miaoyu, could she also become a Bodhisattva?"

Miaoyu slowly opened her eyes, not even glancing at his strong and masculine body, and said calmly, "In the eyes of Buddha, form is emptiness."

This color is not that color.

Chu Yan laughed and said, "Really?"

Miaoyu nodded.

Chu Yan pulled her into his arms and began to personally verify her identity. Miao Yu panicked and struggled to shake off his hand that was trying to undo her monk's robe.

Unfortunately, it was simply too much to resist.

As soon as Chu Yan took the clothes, he sighed, "You're such a grown man, don't you know the importance of wearing dry clothes in winter? Here, let me change them for you."

Miaoyu bit her lip, and finally covered her face with her hands, only able to say in a trembling voice, "You... treat me better, don't humiliate me anymore!"

Chu Yan smiled, stopped teasing her, placed Miaoyu on the kang, and kissed her: "From now on, it's up to you whether you want to enter the palace as a concubine or stay here. I can't bear to humiliate you. It's just a matter of marital bliss."

Miaoyu stopped talking, closed her eyes, and waited for him to kiss her before taking the initiative to hug his neck.

This was a move she had learned last time, and she had thought about it many times these days. Today, she finally climbed onto him with both hands again.

She truly delighted in him.
