Chapter 237, First Exchange
Chapter 237 First Exchange
After the puppy finished eating, its belly became round, and Yan Hui immediately carried it to the doghouse that had just been prepared.
"Stay here and behave yourself. You'll be free once the rain stops," Yan Hui said, pointing outside.
The puppy whimpered; it didn't quite understand what Yan Hui was saying, but it knew this was a place it could stay.
After settling the puppy in, Yan Hui didn't think much of it and spent the whole day inside reading novels.
I ate some leftovers for lunch. When Yan Hui went out for dinner in the evening, the rain had stopped, but the puppy was still there.
Little Huang is recovering quite well. As soon as it saw Yan Hui, it jumped out of its den and rubbed against Yan Hui's thigh, wagging its tail rapidly.
"So you're coming with me now?" Yan Hui squatted down to pet the puppy, then pointed outside. "I'm going out to eat, are you coming with me?"
The puppy seemed a little shy and didn't dare to go back with Yan Hui. It just kept circling around and didn't dare to go out with Yan Hui.
"Alright, you stay here and keep watch." Yan Hui pointed to the small house.
The puppy understood this time. It circled around a few times and then stopped, wagging its tail as it watched Yan Hui leave.
Dogs shouldn't eat too much salt, but Yan Hui knew the puppy was malnourished, so he still had to give it some meat. After browsing the market, Yan Hui found everything quite expensive, so he bought some raw chicken carcasses to stew for the puppy.
The biggest advantage of this warehouse is that it has a full range of daily necessities. There is a small coal stove, a pot, and some simple seasonings.
When they got back, Yan Hui stewed a pot of chicken bones. He sprinkled some salt on them and ate them himself. He gave some of the rest to the puppy and put the other part in the refrigerator.
The chicken carcass was stewed until very tender; the puppy even ate the bones.
"Alright, get some rest." Yan Hui patted the dog's head.
Dogs are basically fed twice a day. Yan Hui fed them when he was a child, so he was quite familiar with the process.
The next day, Yan Hui fed the puppy a little something and then rode his motorcycle to Han's place.
Following the security guard upstairs, Yan Hui suddenly realized that the office was unlocked.
"Huh? Why is the office door open today?" Yan Hui asked, somewhat surprised.
It was only a little past six in the morning, and it was impossible for President Han and President Jiang to come over at this time. Yan Hui peeked inside, but there was nothing special about it.
“That’s normal. Mr. Han’s office is often left unlocked, but,” the security guard pointed to the ceiling, “there are security cameras here, so generally no one dares to come in casually.”
"Surveillance footage?" Yan Hui looked up. "This?"
"It's a security camera. Anyway, whatever you do in this corridor, Mr. Han can see it," the security guard explained.
“It seems there’s nothing like that in his room,” Yan Hui said as he entered the office and looked at the ceiling. He indeed found no surveillance cameras.
"It's quite private inside, who would be watching you with a security camera?" the security guard said dismissively.
"Okay, I'll start cleaning." Yan Hui didn't think much of it and began cleaning little by little.
After tidying up the office, Yan Hui noticed that there were far fewer materials on the desk than usual. Being a meticulous person, he thought about it and concluded that the office door was deliberately left unlocked, because knowing that the door wouldn't be locked, the crucial materials were locked away.
The most likely reason for not locking the door is to leave it open for oneself.
After tidying up the office, Yan Hui then went to tidy up the meeting room, reversing the usual order.
Having been here for over a week, Yan Hui already knows this small building very well.
This isn't the headquarters of Jian'an Group, but just a branch office, mainly responsible for the old city renovation work in this area. Therefore, the building's infrastructure is quite basic, and it doesn't even have heating in winter. The reason is simple: construction sites stop working after the ground freezes in winter, and there are hardly any people in this building during the winter.
Because he comes here every day, Yan Hui could tell that an internal meeting had been held in the conference room yesterday, attended by seven or eight people, who were probably of high rank. The reason was simple: although the place had been cleaned up, he still found four or five cigarette butts from Zhonghua cigarettes.
He was very confident in his work and was certain that there weren't these cigarette butts yesterday.
It was already eight o'clock when Yan Hui finished tidying up the meeting room. He washed his hands and was about to leave when he saw President Han coming over.
"Good morning, Xiao Yan. Are you done with your work?" President Han greeted her.
"I'm done with work, Mr. Han. Have you had breakfast yet? Thank you so much for yesterday," Yan Hui said gratefully.
"You've been working so hard for me these past few days, what's there to thank me for by treating you to breakfast? Yesterday we had a meeting here, and everyone said the meeting room was very clean, which means you've done a good job." General Manager Han glanced at his watch. "I have some time now, come to my office, let's sit down and chat."
"Ah? Okay, Mr. Han." Yan Hui immediately followed.
Upon entering President Han's office, President Han asked Yan Hui to sit down, and Yan Hui immediately began to make tea.
He was so familiar with this setup that he knew exactly where each cup was placed, and he could make tea without interrupting his conversations.
“I know your brother-in-law; he’s quite well-known in Jinan. But I really don’t know you. Tell me about yourself,” Mr. Han asked.
"I'm 21 years old this year. I went to Fengtian when I was 16 to help my family and got involved in the timber business, from logging to processing to transportation. In 1997, I went to Nanjing alone and established a trading company. Starting from scratch, by the end of last year, my monthly turnover was about 3 million yuan. Later, I was cheated by my own brother, and I lost everything and even owed some money. After paying off all my debts, I came to Jinan to start over. Now I only have 50,000 to 60,000 yuan in capital. I still want to do timber business." Yan Hui summarized his past five years in a few words.
He had thought about how to communicate with President Han and had considered many flattering things to say, but ultimately decided to tell the truth. It was clearly abnormal to boast to someone like President Han.
"Oh? You used to have a monthly turnover of 300 million? Then your assets must be several million?" President Han was somewhat surprised.
"My assets were over 200 million yuan. At that time, my business was going very well, and I could turn over the funds in just over half a month." Yan Hui said calmly, "I attach great importance to the quality of my goods. I have always been hands-on and ensured that my products are of the highest quality at the same price."
"All lost money?" President Han glanced at Yan Hui.
"Yeah, I lost everything, and I still owe some money. I sold my watch and everything else to pay off all my debts," Yan Hui said truthfully.
"For someone your age, having these kinds of experiences isn't necessarily a bad thing. I find your stories quite interesting. I have some things to do today, but tell me about them when you have some free time later." Mr. Han took a sip of tea and gestured for him to leave.
"Okay, Mr. Han, let me wash this cup first."
"No need, just leave it here. There are people cleaning over here." President Han waved his hand gently.
"See you tomorrow, Mr. Han." Yan Hui didn't waste any time and left immediately.
