Chapter 258 Invitation

Chapter 258 Invitation

Han Yue was in good condition overnight and slept well, but in the morning, she developed a fever again. Yan Hui called the nurse and gave Han Yue some more medicine.

He had slept for two or three hours last night, so he was in pretty good shape and went out to buy some breakfast by himself.

Without a doubt, Mr. Han must have had too much to drink. He previously said that he would abstain from alcohol for two months after the ground construction on this large construction site had just begun, but now he definitely can't avoid it anymore.

In the morning, Yan Hui brought back a large amount of breakfast, enough for five or six people. He didn't know what Han Yue and her mother could eat, so he bought a variety of things.

"Xiao Yan, we're really fortunate to have had you this time," Han Yue's mother said, adding that she hadn't slept in all day yesterday.

She woke up several times in the middle of the night, and Yan Hui stayed with her the whole time. She wasn't feeling well either, but after Yan Hui told her she was alright, she was able to fall back asleep. She slept on and off for about six hours, and felt pretty good in the morning.

Yan Hui sensed that Han Yue's mother might also have a cold and wasn't feeling well, but he didn't say anything. She knew best whether she was feeling well or not.

"Sister-in-law, it's good that the child is alright." Yan Hui laid out the food. "Have something to eat."

"You've gone to so much trouble. Old Han, too, we don't know where he went all night." Han Yue's mother was a little unhappy.

“I heard yesterday that his drinking party last night was extremely important, and he had no choice. When I called him last night, he specifically asked me to help him,” Yan Hui explained on behalf of President Han.

Mr. Han hadn't originally planned for Yan Hui to come and stay with the child, nor had he anticipated the child's hospitalization. Later, Yan Hui contacted Mr. Han, who naturally agreed to let Yan Hui stay. He knew perfectly well how meticulous and attentive Yan Hui was.

"I know. He told me yesterday that you're reliable and that I can rest assured. Then he went silent." Han Yue's mother was still somewhat unhappy.

Han Yue took the medicine and felt better, and also ate some food.

Han Yue was a woman of few words and a very sensible person. Seeing her mother constantly talking about her father, she defended Han Zong by saying, "Mom, Dad has been spending a lot of time with me lately. He's busy right now, so you have to understand him."

"You silly child." Han Yue's mother patted Han Yue's head without saying anything more.

Yan Hui stayed there until around nine o'clock in the morning before President Han and his driver arrived. President Han seemed to still be suffering from a hangover, but overall he was fine.

Mr. Han first called the doctor out alone, and after talking about something, he felt relieved and went back inside to chat with his family.

“The housekeeper and driver told me about what happened yesterday. Luckily you were here, otherwise I wouldn’t feel at ease,” Mr. Han introduced to his wife, “This Yan Hui is the young man I told you about, the one who is very serious about his work!”

“I know, if it weren’t for him yesterday, I wouldn’t have been able to get any sleep at all.” Han Yue’s mother nodded.

"Okay, Yan Hui, you should go and rest first. I've called two people from the company to help out; they'll be here soon. Come over for dinner sometime when you're free," President Han said gratefully.

"President Han, you're too kind. You've done me a great service, and this is all I've done." Yan Hui gently shook his head. His expression was very serious. It might seem a little insincere to say such things, but he had been exhausted all night, and his serious demeanor made it impossible for anyone to believe that he wasn't sincere.

"Okay, you go and rest first, you don't need to worry about things here." President Han patted Yan Hui on the shoulder.

Yan Hui nodded, said nothing more, packed his things, left the car keys, and left.

His motorcycle is still parked in the Jian'an Group compound. There's no rush. He's really tired and sleepy right now and needs to go back and rest for a while.

Yan Hui developed a fever that very afternoon after returning home. Han Yue had the flu, and it was normal for Yan Hui to catch a cold himself after spending the night taking care of her. He knew what medication Han Yue was taking, so he went to the pharmacy that afternoon, bought some medicine, and went home to sleep.

The next day was Tuesday, the day the construction site would pay wages. Yan Hui got up in the morning, made a phone call, and said that he would not go for the time being and would go together next week.

With his current funds, settling accounts every two weeks shouldn't be a problem.

The illness was quite recurrent, and Yan Hui was tormented for two or three days before finally recovering.

During this time, General Manager Han called to inquire about his situation and asked why he hadn't come to the construction site to collect his money. Yan Hui could only say that nothing was wrong and he hadn't caused General Manager Han any trouble.

On Thursday, Yan Hui went to the factory as usual to check the plywood. After confirming that there were no problems, he delivered the plywood to the factory.

Yan Hui personally oversees every batch of goods, accompanying the delivery team and checking the quality of the goods and feedback from the previous batch.

As for the factory manager, since someone always accompanied him and admired Yan Hui's demeanor, they dared not slack off or use inferior materials.

Yan Hui knew a bit about the flu and knew he might still have the virus, so he didn't go to Mr. Han's place until Saturday to help with the cleaning.

With President Han absent, Yan Hui felt more relaxed and worked for more than two hours before leaving.

At this point, Yan Hui's condition finally improved completely. The first thing he thought of was what President Han had told him last time: "Come to my house for dinner when you have time."

Clearly, President Han doesn't need him to give gifts, so it would be inappropriate for him to give him something too expensive. He can just leave the favor to President Han and repay it in the future.

However, he couldn't go empty-handed. So, from Sunday to Wednesday, Yan Hui went to several large shopping malls and asked some shop owners and the second-in-command in Beijing for help, finally managing to get two suitable gifts.

One of the gifts was for Mr. Han's son; it was a new Casio watch with MP3 playback capabilities, 32MB of internal storage, and included headphones.

One item was a gift for President Han's daughter: a box of Swiss Carda watercolor crayons, with a very rich variety of colors. These crayons were impossible to buy in Jinan. After Yan Hui heard about them, he specifically called his second brother and asked him to buy a box in Beijing and have someone bring it over.

The second son runs a hardware business in Beijing and knows many people from Shandong Province. People travel between Jinan and Beijing every day, so it would be convenient for him to help with this.

Yan Hui had kept the two gifts in the warehouse ever since he prepared them. He wasn't sure if President Han's "Come over for dinner sometime" was just a polite remark, but he couldn't just leave them unprepared.

A few days later, it happened to be Friday. Yan Hui went to help clean Mr. Han's office and ran into Mr. Han. Mr. Han was in a good mood: "I've had a lot of drinking parties lately. I checked the times with Lao Jiang today and finally got through this wave. Are you free tomorrow night? I have some friends coming over for dinner. Would you like to come along?"

"Oh? Your friend is going, will it be inconvenient for me to go?" Yan Hui didn't expect there to be an outsider.

"Come on, it won't hurt you," President Han said with a smile.

"Okay, what time should I arrive tomorrow?"

"If you don't have anything else to do, you can come earlier this afternoon."
