Journey 1995:Non-Stop

Chapter 331 Reconciliation

Chapter 331 Reconciliation
Although Yan Hui is reluctant to spend money now, it doesn't mean he has no money, nor does it mean he has no temper!

Today you proposed a rule, saying that everyone coming to eat with dirty clothes would affect your dining environment, right?
Okay, I won't fight or make a scene with you. We'll wear clean clothes tomorrow. You won't have any objections then, right?

Then, in the afternoon, Yan Hui went to the mall and bought a set of shirts for everyone!
In the evening, Yan Hui distributed shirts to everyone and said that they would go out to eat again tomorrow!

Actually, everyone's morale improved after Yan Hui said at noon that he would buy everyone shirts and that they would eat there every day from then on. Anyone with a discerning eye knew the boss wasn't picky about the clothes, but rather about how much everyone was eating. However, the boss didn't dare say they were eating too much, so he could only find fault with the clothes. Those who didn't understand asked each other and then figured it out.

That night, Yan Hui slept outside again. Because the quilt was thick enough and there was a special windproof board, the night was not too uncomfortable.

The next day at noon, after the workers finished their work, Yan Hui arranged for everyone to wash their hands and change their clothes.

Yan Hui told everyone to prepare a clean pair of pants and shoes, which everyone already had. Then, everyone changed into brand new shirts.

This is the first shirt any of the workers here owns!
Yan Hui, along with more than 20 workers in dark shirts, strode confidently back to the entrance of the self-service restaurant.

The waiter recognized Yan Hui and his group, but seeing that they were dressed cleaner than the others, he couldn't say anything and could only let them in.

At noon today, the workers ate more calmly, for fear of getting their clothes dirty, but that didn't mean they ate less. They finished two more bowls of braised pork, and ate an unknown amount of other dishes as well.

After the meal, Yan Hui led everyone back to the construction site.

Everyone enjoyed the meal very much.

For two days in a row, we ate meat all we could eat at lunchtime. It's Chinese New Year, isn't it?
For the next four or five days, Yan Hui spent three or four hundred yuan each day to bring more than twenty people to eat at the buffet. The workers' morale remained high, and their work efficiency also improved.

A week later, Yan Hui brought these people to dinner again. The boss couldn't stand it anymore and took the initiative to come to Yan Hui: "Brother, brother, come over here."

"I don't know you well, let's talk here." Yan Hui refused to have a private chat with his boss.

"There's something I need to talk to you about privately," the boss said, offering a cigarette.

Seeing that the other party was being friendly, Yan Hui gave them face and followed the boss outside.

"Brother, you've been coming here for a week straight. I give up. I was wrong, I was really wrong. Please, everyone, have mercy and stop causing trouble at my place. I was truly wrong." The boss was completely exasperated.

Yan Hui's group had a lot of people, and they were all grown men. He couldn't possibly dare to start a fight. Besides, if a fight broke out here, it wouldn't do him any good.

"Didn't you say I was dirty? I've changed into new clothes now, and I'm cleaner than everyone else. The workers even take them home to wash at night! Why are you bringing this up now?" Yan Hui asked knowingly.

"I was wrong, brother, I'm really losing money! The labor, utilities, and rent are all quite high here. You're a boss too, you know I'm just relying on passing drivers to make some money. When locals come to eat, I'm just trying to attract customers. The profit margin is already very thin. Your workers are eating way too much, brother, I can't take it!" the boss complained.

A few days ago, he thought Yan Hui wouldn't be willing to spend several hundred yuan a day and would stop coming after a couple of days. But Yan Hui brought these people and came for a week, and he completely panicked. If this continued, the shop would be out of business.

“If you hadn’t been so rude to me last week, we could have just had a meal to satisfy our cravings. But since you said that last week, let’s talk business. You’re running a business, and I’m just bringing people to support you.” Yan Hui was still quite blunt.

"Brother, brother, I know I was wrong. Please forgive me!" the boss apologized again.

Hearing this, Yan Hui's anger subsided, and he nodded: "Alright, in a bit, go apologize to my people, and we won't come here to eat like this anymore. Or, if I come here occasionally in the future, I'll settle the bill for you at 20 yuan per person! Let me tell you, I don't care about that little bit, but if you continue with that attitude, I'll bring 50 people to eat here every day!"

"I apologize, I definitely apologize! You're welcome to come again in the future!" The boss was completely convinced. Yesterday, he had someone follow Yan Hui and his group to Yan Hui's construction site, and after making some inquiries, he learned that Yan Hui was a big boss.

In other words, Yan Hui wasn't some small-time foreman, but a legitimate boss; he could afford to eat there every day.

Knowing all this led to today's scene.

"Alright, that shows some sincerity." Yan Hui nodded and returned to the restaurant.

Not long after Yan Hui returned, the boss came over with his men to apologize, gave everyone a bottle of Coke, and said a lot of nice things.

The workers felt extremely satisfied upon seeing this scene. They didn't hold a grudge, and the matter was considered closed.

After the meal, Yan Hui came out and held another meeting: "We come here to eat every day, and I see some of you are getting tired of it. This braised pork is too fatty; you can't eat it every day. Here's what we'll do: Lao Sun, you write this down. From now on, each worker can come to eat four times a month, whenever they want. Let's try not to come all at once, otherwise we won't be able to prepare meals at the construction site. I'll give you some meal tickets later; you just need to remember who takes them."

"No problem, Mr. Yan, this is a great idea. If you don't want to eat, you don't have to come. I've been eating so much these past few days!" Old Sun immediately said. The others echoed his sentiment, and everyone drank their soda, feeling incredibly refreshed!
After talking with everyone, Yan Hui told them to go back to work first, and then went to find the boss.

"Do you have any meal tickets here? I'll buy 100, 20 yuan each. My people can come over and get the meal tickets," Yan Hui said.

"We really don't have meal tickets here. But it's okay, brother, I'll go get some this afternoon and deliver them to you tonight." The boss was a sensible man.

He'll definitely make a profit if each person pays 20 yuan, and he'd welcome people coming in batches.

Actually, the situation is similar for both self-service restaurants and plywood processing. A steady stream of orders keeps costs relatively low. However, a sudden increase in orders can actually impact costs due to unexpected deliveries, processing, and overtime. When Yan Hui and his team arrive at lunchtime, the restaurant's food preparation and inventory management are severely strained. If they came in batches, the pressure would be much less.

"You know where my construction site is?" Yan Hui immediately understood what was going on. "Okay, it's settled then."
