Journey 1995:Non-Stop
Chapter 410
Chapter 410
"This car is so comfortable, bro. Shouldn't the company consider buying one of these in the future?" Qinglan asked happily on the way.
She is really relaxed now. Over the past few years, she has gradually matured and is seen by many as a capable deputy director of the office who can handle things on her own. Normally, Qinglan is serious, especially in front of Yan Hui, and always calls him "President Yan".
But at this moment, all she could think about was the happiness of going home.
"You like this?" Yan Hui asked, somewhat curious.
"This is more comfortable than the bus I usually take, and it's very stable," Qinglan said.
“Okay, let’s buy one. When we get back, your office should write an application, and I’ll approve it.” Yan Hui nodded.
"Huh? Brother, you agree just like that?" Qinglan was a little surprised. "I was just saying."
"It's just one car, hmm. But we can definitely hold off for now. The company has a project that needs money recently, so we need to stop spending large sums of money." Yan Hui thought for a moment, "We'll see. The company does need a bus for transportation right now. Let's submit the application early next year."
"Alright! I got it!" Qinglan stood up, walked forward a row, saw her nephew looking out the window, and reached out to slap him.
"Auntie, why did you hit me!" The nephew asked, looking up in confusion.
"I didn't hit you, I just patted you, haha!" Qinglan then walked to the next row and sat down next to her sister. She said something, leaving her nephew completely bewildered.
The nephew looked ahead and then back, and saw Yan Hui: "Uncle, what happened to my aunt?"
"Nothing's wrong, she's just quite happy." Yan Hui smiled slightly.
"Happy?" My nephew touched his arm. "She hits me because she's happy?"
"She just patted you on the shoulder." Yan Hui said with a smile, without saying anything more.
The nephew was speechless, but he didn't take it seriously. He turned around, knelt on the chair, and looked back at Yan Hui: "Uncle, did you just say you were going to buy a car for my aunt?"
"No, she has a Honda that I gave her. She just said she bought it for the company, like this kind of bus," Yan Hui explained.
"Oh, this? It's so big and clunky, who would like a car like this?" My nephew lost interest as soon as he heard it.
"So what kind of car do you like?" Yan Hui asked.
“Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Porsche!” the nephew immediately exclaimed.
"What's your favorite?" Yan Hui asked again.
"That must be a Porsche! But I heard from my dad that the cheapest one costs over a million! That's too expensive! Who can afford it?" My nephew said longingly.
"Well then, you study hard and get into a top-tier university, and I'll buy you a Porsche," Yan Hui said with a smile. His nephew's grades were only average, so getting into a top-tier university was quite a challenge.
"Huh???" My nephew was startled and almost jumped up from his chair. "Really?"
"Have I ever said anything boastful all these years?" Yan Hui retorted. His brother-in-law had helped him a lot to get where he was today; giving his nephew a car was nothing. "Ahhh, Uncle! You're really my uncle! Mom! Where are my textbooks?!" The nephew immediately turned to his mother to ask for his books.
The car drove very fast, and after more than two hours, it returned to the town. Further into the village, there was a brand-new cement road!
After resting for a while, Yan Hui took the initiative to peek out and look at the road. He was very satisfied, as this was a childhood wish of his.
The car stopped in front of the house, and everyone couldn't wait to come out and see the new house. Grandma was in very good spirits and was the first to step into the new house.
As soon as Yan Hui and his group returned home, everyone in the village knew about it. Many people rushed over, and Yan Hui offered cigarettes to everyone he met, receiving many flattering words in return.
Due to land restrictions, each floor is less than 200 square meters, with the first and second floors consisting of living rooms.
The first floor has a reception hall furnished with a complete set of mahogany furniture, which Yan Hui bought from Lao Guo for over 30 yuan. In addition to the hall, the first floor also has a sunroom bedroom, a kitchen, a dining room, and a bathroom.
The second floor serves as a living room for receiving family members. Unlike the noisy first floor, the second floor is ideal for discussing business. In addition to the living room, there is also a bedroom and a study on the second floor, which is reserved for Yan Hui's office.
From the third to the fifth floor, there are a total of six master bedrooms: one for Yan Hui, one for his grandmother, one for his parents, one for his older sister and one for his younger sister, and one for Yan Hui as a storage room, which is also where the family keeps the safe.
As for the sixth floor, it has even more functions, but I won't go into details.
Yan Hui actually liked the bedroom on the second floor the most. Although it wasn't big, it was just the right size for resting, and it was also suitable for working or receiving guests. You could say the entire second floor was his own space. This was his favorite kind of house; it felt like a home!
The house cost nearly 200 million to build, but the renovation cost more than 200 million, with the mahogany furniture for the entire building costing more than 100 million.
Speaking of this, we have to mention Lao Guo.
Guo now owns his own processing plant, which is said to be worth around 2000 million yuan. The master craftsman that Guo and Yan Hui invited down from the mountain back then has trained more than a dozen good apprentices who are the backbone of Guo's processing plant.
Guo was very proud of his achievements. The rosewood he gave Yan Hui was almost all at cost price. Yan Hui's own desk, made of large red sandalwood, was a gift from Guo, who didn't charge him for it.
In recent years, Yan Hui and Lao Guo have kept in touch by phone, but because both of them are in the rapid rise of their careers, they have never had the chance to get together. Every time Lao Guo achieves a certain level of success and tries to show off to Yan Hui, he is always put down by Yan Hui. As a result, Lao Guo's mentality has been tempered, and he has not become arrogant because of his career success.
Yan Hui simply didn't have the energy to go see Lao Guo right now, but he knew that rosewood was profitable. Once all his current projects had stabilized, he might talk to Lao Guo to see if he could make a name for himself in the rosewood industry. After all, he started out in the log business, so having more in the rosewood sector wouldn't be bad.
Yan Hui was looking at his tables and chairs on the second floor when his younger sister ran upstairs and called to him, "Brother, the village secretary is here. Do you want to go down and see him?"
“Okay.” Yan Hui put down what he was holding and followed his sister downstairs.
I'd only been back for half an hour, and the living room on the first floor was already packed with people. This was the first time the house had been renovated and welcomed guests. My father had prepared plenty of fruit and cigarettes and was chatting with everyone.
As soon as Yan Hui came downstairs, everyone in the village stood up and greeted him: "Xiao Hui, you're back too!"
"I haven't been home for long, and I'm sure I've bothered everyone a lot lately. Thank you all." Yan Hui smiled and went over to shake hands with each of the elders.
