Chapter 23 Leopard Bones

Chapter 23 Leopard Bones (Please support!)
Eric and Lily looked at each other and slowly followed.

The three of them gathered around the glass container, carefully examining the monster inside.

Judging from its motionless state and the seemingly lifeless body, Robin's guess seemed to make some sense.

The monster's body showed no visible signs of breathing, and it merely swayed slightly in the green liquid, without any movement of its own accord. Furthermore, although its eyes were wide open, they were hollow, devoid of any lively light.

"If it's a biological specimen, then this might be a place where some forbidden biological experiments are conducted." Robin frowned and said in a low voice.

He looked at the remaining scales and marks on the glassware, and a sense of foreboding welled up in his heart.

These marks were different from the symbols of alchemy or magic experiments they were familiar with, and exuded a mysterious and dangerous aura.

Eric nodded solemnly. "No matter what, there is an indescribable weirdness here. We'd better be careful and see if there are any other clues around." After that, he held up the torch and began to explore around the cave.

Robin and Lily followed behind him, turning back from time to time to look warily at the monster sealed in the glass container, as if it would come alive at any time.

"Let's stay here tonight!" Robin looked around and said after thinking for a moment.

Although this place exudes a mysterious and eerie atmosphere, the relatively closed space and the lack of any signs of danger make it a good choice for the night. With that, he squatted down and began to pick up the torn papers on the ground.

As he collected more and more papers, Robin gradually discovered that they contained what appeared to be some information on herbal cultivation. However, the contents were so fragmented, with incomplete sentences and paragraphs, that he couldn't piece together the complete information. He could only guess from the fragments.

But even so, this discovery made Robin's eyes light up suddenly.

He had personally experienced the miraculous effects of the secret breathing medicine, and the production of the secret medicine naturally required knowledge of pharmacy and the understanding and application of various herbs.

"Robin, come and take a look. There is a complete book here." Just as Robin was immersed in thinking about the information about herbs, Lily suddenly shouted excitedly.

Robin quickly stood up and walked quickly to Lily's side.

Lily gently brushed off the thick dust on the book. She saw that the cover was carefully made of some kind of animal skin. It was rough to the touch and had a sense of age.

When I opened the pages of the book, I found that it was made entirely of parchment. The paper was thick and tough, and it felt heavy in my hand, and seemed particularly thick.

Robin couldn't wait to open the book and start reading. After just a few glances, his breathing became rapid.

"This is an introduction book on herbal medicine." Robin made a quick judgment.

Judging from the detailed descriptions of the herbal morphology, growth habits and some brief descriptions of their effects in the book, this is undoubtedly an extremely precious herbal classic.

Lily's eyes lit up as she listened.

For these knight apprentices, although they have mastered basic literacy skills, they only stay at the level of recognizing individual characters.

They do recognize many of the words in professional books like this, but once they are combined into complex sentences and professional terms, they are completely unable to understand them.

But even so, they knew the value of this book.

"What should we do with this book?" Lily stared at the thick herbal book, her eyes full of anticipation and curiosity.

Robin pondered for a moment, quickly weighing the pros and cons in his mind. Finally, he slowly said, "Let's put it away first and see if we can make a profit. We'll split the profits between the three of us." Lily immediately understood what he meant. The three people he meant were naturally her, Robin, and Eric.

As for Thomson, the two of them almost subconsciously excluded him.

After all, Thompson is the nephew of Knight Malizzi. Given Knight Malizzi's consistent law-abiding style, if he knew the existence of this book, he would have to hand it over according to regulations.

"Okay!" Lily responded without hesitation.

Soon, Eric and Thompson returned dragging the heavy prey.

The two men threw the bodies of the jumping sheep and the shadow leopard to the ground with a "bang" and quickly began to deal with them.

Eric drew his dagger expertly and began to skin and bone the man, his movements clean and efficient;

Thomson helped pass the tools, and although he seemed a little clumsy, he worked very hard.

"Did you find anything?" Eric asked without raising his head while concentrating on the movements in his hands.

Robin painstakingly pieced together the torn papers, cleared his throat, and said, "I suspect this is a wizard laboratory."

As soon as these words came out, Eric's hand trembled slightly as if he had received an electric shock, and the dagger in his hand almost slipped. He raised his head suddenly, his eyes wide open, and his face was full of shock and disbelief. "Robin, this joke is not funny at all."

Wizards have always been mysterious and dangerous on this continent, and the various spells they master can often bring devastating consequences.

Robin shrugged helplessly and pointed to the glass container containing the strange monster deep in the cave. "Although it's just a guess, it's very likely. That monster doesn't look like a serious thing at first glance."

Eric looked in the direction Robin pointed, and a chill ran down his spine as he recalled the monster's eerie appearance. He pondered for a moment, then said gravely, "We'll return to Winston City early tomorrow morning and report this to Knight Commander Malizzi."

Robin nodded in agreement, then continued to pack up the things in the laboratory.

This mysterious cave hides so many secrets, and what they know now may just be the tip of the iceberg.

In the following time, the four of them were busy with their own things. The only sounds in the cave were the sounds of processing prey and the occasional sound of shuffling papers.

The next day, just after dawn, they carefully packed the processed meat strips and prepared to return home.

Robin glanced at the Shadow Leopard's internal organs and bones piled on the other side. After thinking for a moment, he turned to Thompson and said, "Thompson, can you carry a few more? I think the Shadow Leopard's bones are pretty good."

Robin said this because he suddenly remembered the tiger bone ointment on Earth.

Since tiger bones can be used as medicine and have many functions, the bones of the shadow leopard should also have a good effect on this magical continent.

Even if it cannot be used as medicine, it must be good to use it to make delicious leopard bone soup.

Thomson never had an idea, but now he obeyed Robin's orders. Without saying a word, he carried the heavy skeleton on his back.

This shadow leopard weighed more than 800 kilograms, and Robin had no intention of letting it go. He even carefully packed the precious leopard blood in a sheepskin bag.
