Chapter 80 Trading
The old cat walked to the center of the room, clapped his hands, and signaled everyone to be quiet.

"Everyone, this is a new friend who wants to join our party." The old cat said, then turned to look at Robin, "According to the rules, new members need to demonstrate their abilities."

Robin's heart tightened. He knew that he had just started his meditation method and his mental strength was only slightly stronger than that of ordinary people.

But he couldn't show his weakness here, otherwise he might be suspected or even expelled.

He took a deep breath, concentrated his mind, and tried to sense his surroundings.

Suddenly, he noticed that a crystal ball on the table was glowing faintly, as if responding to his mental power.

He reached out and gently touched the crystal ball. The light inside the crystal ball instantly became brighter, as if responding to his touch.

A low exclamation was heard in the room, and the old cat also showed a satisfied smile.

"Yes, it seems that you are indeed a wizard apprentice, but you have just started, so I can't sense it." The old cat nodded, "Welcome to our party."

Robin breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that he had passed the test for the time being.

He walked over to an empty chair, sat down, and began to observe the people around him carefully.

These people were obviously wizards or wizard apprentices, and their conversation involved various mysterious spells, runes and magical items.

The atmosphere of the party gradually heated up during the transaction. The wizards' voices were low and mysterious, as if every word contained some unspeakable power.

Robin sat in the corner, his eyes wandering among the crowd, but his ears were perked up, afraid of missing any information.

His heartbeat quickened as the transaction progressed, for he realized that what these wizards were trading was far more dangerous and taboo than he had imagined.

"I need three stalks of dragon's blood grass and two pieces of lizard birch bark."

The voice of the lady in the veil was cold and clear, as if it came from far away.

Her face was covered by a veil, revealing only a pair of deep eyes, which contained an elusive coldness.

"I have dragon's blood grass, but I only have one piece of lizard birch bark."

The person who responded to her was a middle-aged man wearing a white mask. His voice was hoarse, and his eyes flashed with cunning light under the mask.

He slowly took out a small cloth bag from his bosom, and when he opened it, he revealed a few dark red herbs and a piece of bark with a strange luster.

Robin's eyes were fixed on the items.

He had obtained dragon blood grass before, which was not a rare herb in the Black Forest.

It’s hard to say here.

Lizard birch bark is even rarer, said to be found only in certain ancient magical forests, and can be used to make powerful protective charms.

"want!"

The woman in the veil nodded without hesitation, then took out a heavy purse from her sleeve and threw it on the table.

The white-masked man took the purse, weighed it, nodded with satisfaction, and pushed the dragon blood grass and lizard birch bark in front of her.

After the transaction was completed, the room fell into a brief silence again, but it was soon broken by the next transaction.

"I need a 'Night Shadow Eye', the price is negotiable."

A tall, thin man in a black robe stood up. His voice was deep and hoarse, as if it came from the depths of hell. In his hand, he held a staff inlaid with a black gem, and a faint dark red light flowed through the gem.

"Eye of Night Shadow? That's a rare item."

A woman wearing a silver mask chuckled and stood up from her seat. In her hand was a delicate wooden box. When she opened it, a pitch-black gem lay inside. Countless tiny vortices swirled on the surface of the gem, making one feel dizzy at the mere sight of it.

"price?"

The black-robed man asked bluntly.

"Two hundred gold coins, or equivalent high-level magic materials."

The silver-masked woman spoke calmly, but her eyes revealed an unquestionable determination.

The man in black robe was silent for a moment, then took out a crystal that was shining with purple light from his pocket and placed it on the table.

"This is a 'Void Crystal'. Is it enough to exchange for your Night Shadow Eye?"

The silver-masked woman picked up the crystal, examined it carefully, then nodded with satisfaction and pushed the wooden box in front of him.

Robin watched all this and was shocked.

All the items traded by these wizards were extremely rare and dangerous magical materials, some of which he had never even heard of.

This is the real world of wizards.

At this moment, the old cat suddenly stood up, clapped his hands, and signaled everyone to be quiet.

"Everyone, today's party ends here. I will notify you of the time and place of the next party."

His voice was deep and powerful, and the wizards in the room stood up and began to gather their belongings, preparing to leave.

Robin also stood up and was about to leave with the crowd, but was stopped by the old cat.

"Stay, I have something to tell you."

The old cat whispered, with a hint of deep meaning in his eyes.

Robin nodded and sat down again. After everyone else left, the old cat slowly spoke:
"You performed well today, but I can sense that you still don't know anything about this."

There was a hint of tentativeness in the old cat's voice.

Robin didn't deny it and nodded, "Yes, I just stumbled upon that rune and ended up here. I don't know much about the wizarding world."

The old cat smiled, took out a tattered book from his pocket, and handed it to Robin: "This book records some basic magical knowledge and common magical materials. You can take a look first, it may be helpful to you."

Robin took the book and said gratefully, "Thank you."

The old cat waved his hand and continued, "However, you must remember that the wizarding world is not as simple as it seems. The transactions you see are just the tip of the iceberg. Some people will pay any price to gain power, even... sacrificing others."

Robin's heart trembled, and he asked in a low voice: "Are you saying that there is a bigger conspiracy behind these transactions?"

The old cat didn't answer directly, but gave him a meaningful look: "Time will tell you the answer. Now, what you need to do is to improve your strength as quickly as possible. Otherwise, you won't even be able to protect yourself."

Robin was silent for a moment, then said with difficulty, "It's just that I'm wanted by the whole city now, so it's difficult for me to practice peacefully."

The old cat asked, "You are Robin Gabriel."

Robin hesitated for a moment and then nodded.

The old cat said disdainfully: "Well, isn't it just killing a low-ranking noble from the border area?"

Robin quickly rejected the idea, saying, "I didn't kill him. The lord teamed up with an evil wizard to transform some of the knights in the territory into puppets. We were forced to resist. The lord was also killed by other wizards. It had nothing to do with me."
