Chapter 109 Check-in
Half a month later.

Beside the square ring, a girl was watching the two men wearing boxing gloves on the ring with tense eyes.

One of them was her boyfriend, and the other was her benefactor and confidant.

Comparatively speaking, her boyfriend was a bit thinner, while Eric's older brother was more muscular and powerful.

Eric looked at Genos, who had recovered, and spread his feet slightly apart to lower his center of gravity, then raised his right gauntlet to signal him to attack.

Genos took a deep breath, watching Eric approach slowly with a slight bow and 11-pound fist guard, looking as if facing a formidable enemy.

Seeing that Eric was just standing there with his boxing stance, he suddenly thrust his right fist forward with a whooshing sound.

boom!
Eric maintained his stance, easily blocking without moving, while his straight punch shot out like a cannonball.

Genos' pupils constricted slightly as he braced himself and parried.

boom!
"Good weight!"

Genos's expression changed. Before he could retaliate when the man in front of him retracted his fist, he suddenly realized that Eric's speed was incredible. At the same time as his right fist retracted, his left fist had already struck out from under his armpit, heading straight for his abdomen.

Normally, he would have taken advantage of the opponent's attack and landed a heavy punch to the head, but remembering the heavy straight punch he had received earlier, Genos dared not take the hit head-on and quickly pulled his abdomen in and clamped his right arm to block.

boom!
Genos's expression changed again. Even though he clenched his right arm to absorb most of the force, he was still forced to take a half step back.

At the same time, I felt a slight pain.

"Fuck!"

He cursed inwardly, watching Eric's face change. The punch, which looked so simple, was so powerful that it made him feel like he was facing a heavyweight boxer.

What kind of man did his sister find?
Seeing that Eric was just standing there without pressing his advantage and was waving his fist to signal him to attack, Genos gritted his teeth, steadied himself, and immediately launched a combination punch attack.

He threw a left punch to distract Eric, followed by a powerful right punch aimed at Eric's chest.

But Eric simply bent down slightly and parried.

Bang! His body remained completely still.

Genos dodged to the side, quickly shifting his position with his feet crossed, and skillfully threw a right hook at Eric's side of the face. However, Eric had already caught up with Genos and moved to a different position, continuing to hold his ground tightly.

boom!
Eric remained motionless. Genos gritted his teeth slightly, changed his left fist into a hook punch, and continued to sweep towards Eric's temple.

It has quite an imposing presence.

But Eric simply ducked slightly to dodge, letting the punch pass over his head, a slight smile playing on his lips.

A left hook followed, striking Genos squarely in the right abdomen.

One trick is all you need to succeed!

Genos was prepared, gripping the frame and pulling in his abdomen to block, but this time his expression changed drastically.

Eric's punches were so powerful that even when he gripped his stance tightly and pulled in his stomach to block, it still hurt a lot, and his stance even loosened a bit.

The balance has been broken!
The next second, he saw Eric's calm and peaceful face, and the fierce uppercut that he could already foresee coming down.

"Damn it! The power levels are not even the same!" Genos only had time to mutter this sentence.

boom!
This punch was so powerful that it shattered Genos's defensive stance, penetrating the gap and striking his chin squarely.

Genos's consciousness was instantly shattered by the punch, and his 1.87-meter-tall body fell heavily onto the ring.

"Genos!"

Hearing Terry's shouts from outside the ring, Eric took off his gloves and smiled at her worried expression.

"It's okay, come up here and pinch his philtrum, he'll wake up soon."

He only used seven-tenths of his strength, keeping it all under control; everything was within his grasp.

Upon hearing this, Terry quickly came over, squatted down next to Genos, and began pinching his philtrum.

Just then, a ringtone sounded. Eric recognized it as his own ringtone, glanced at Genos and Terry, and went down from the stage to take his phone out of the pocket of his clothes hanging on the rack.

The caller surprised him.

It was a call from his direct supervisor, Daves.

Eric habitually raised an eyebrow, then, on a whim, put on his boxing gloves and answered the phone, addressing the person on vacation.

"Daves?"

"Your vacation is canceled from now on. Report to the police station the day after tomorrow." Eric was stunned for a moment, subconsciously calculating in his mind that he had only taken twenty-two days off since the day he sent Tifa away, which was not even a full month.

“Uh, sir, is my vacation over?” Eric asked uncertainly, his tone changing instantly.

What's going on at the bureau?

In general, in case of an emergency, the bureau will indeed revoke the leave of certain personnel and require them to return to work immediately to help.

However, Daves simply stated, "There's nothing wrong, it's just a normal work arrangement; staff reallocation requires you to return to your post."

Daves' tone suddenly changed: "What's wrong? You're having a great time out there and don't want to go back to your post?"

Upon hearing this, Eric immediately replied earnestly, "Yes, sir! I will be in perfect condition to complete my reporting for duty the day after tomorrow and strive to get to my post smoothly!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Daves hung up the phone.

Eric looked at his phone screen, which was off, and chuckled.

Although it's been almost a month since we last met, my direct supervisor is still the same as always.

Time flies, and the vacation has passed by in the blink of an eye.

Eric, feeling a pang of emotion, put away his phone and glanced back at the ring.

With Terry pinching his philtrum, Genos recovered from his dizziness and sat up.

"I have something to attend to, so I'll be going now," Eric said with a smile as he took his clothes.

"You two young people can have fun."

These words caused not only Genos but also Terry to have some thoughts.

How old are you, brother?

"Brother-in-law!"

Upon hearing this word, Eric stopped and looked at Genos. This kid had only acknowledged him in his heart before, but he was very stubborn.

Now, after a few punches, my mind seems to have finally cleared up.

"Thank you," Genos said earnestly.

Eric raised an eyebrow. He wouldn't actually say what he did, but the fact that the kid was saying this meant that Tifa had probably told him something before leaving Los Angeles.

He suddenly remembered what he had said to Tifa when he dealt with the two killers at the hospital.

"Ok."

Eric looked at Genos, who had a serious expression on his face, and Terry, who looked grateful beside him, and then turned and walked toward the exit.

"You're welcome. Just give me a call if you need anything."

Under the watchful eyes of the two young men, Eric waved and walked out of the boxing gym into the lobby. Amidst the respectful and admiring gazes of several muscular boxers, he addressed the bald, middle-aged owner sitting behind the counter.

"Mick!"

Mick looked up.

“Give him some guidance; he’s my future brother-in-law,” Eric said, taking a wad of cash from his pocket and placing it on the table.

"This is the fee."

The man in front of me, Mick, is the owner of this boxing gym. Although he used to be a boxer, he was not famous.

However, his coaching skills are very high; he once trained a boxing champion's student, making him a very good coach for Genos.
But Mick doesn't teach people easily, but fortunately, the other party owes him a favor.

Because he had helped drive away some troublemakers while on patrol.

Mick looked at Eric with a helpless expression: "He's your brother-in-law, why don't you do it yourself?"

“I’m busy!” Eric shrugged.

"I have to go back to work the day after tomorrow."

“Okay.” Mick took the cash. “Officer, good luck.”

"You too, Mick."
