Chapter 139 Review
Only after ensuring his own safety did Eric begin to observe the scene.

The place was a mess, with common food scraps and empty beer cans everywhere.

Eric's gaze shifted to the coffee table, where he found several small packets of white powder among the pile of messy food.

The music was still booming in my ears.
Eric looked away, walked over, and turned off the music.

He picked up the walkie-talkie and said calmly.

"10-Adam-11! 18 Emergency!! Suspect has taken my service weapon! Code name 243 (assaulting a police officer)! Shooting has occurred!"

Dispatch Center: "Calling for backup for you!"

The sound was crisp and bright.

Eric continued, "Code 4 (Safe, no unit intervention required) The suspect has collapsed. Requesting emergency medical assistance and supervisory assistance."

The voice was crisp and clear.

Clearly, the dispatch center hadn't reacted immediately, pausing for a moment before replying: "Received, Execution code 3, shooting and ambulance emergency response!"

She thought the matter should end there, but Eric wasn't going to let her off the hook. Looking at the corpse lying on the floor, he continued into the walkie-talkie.

"10-Adam-11! Cancel emergency medical services, suspect is dead, notify the duty officer!"

Regional Dispatch Center Room.

Euler, who had only recently become a dispatcher, stared at the screen above and blinked. This 10-Adam-11 patrol unit was completely baffling to her.

But as a dispatcher, having undergone all the tests before starting the job, Euler still realized what was going on.

"Copy (Received)!"

Eric put away the walkie-talkie, turned around to look at Annie, who was still standing silently by the door, and walked over.

"Rookie, keep things in order."

But before he could even leave, the newbie said...

"Why do this?"

Eric stopped abruptly and looked at her: "You ask why I did this?"

Annie gritted her teeth slightly and braced herself to meet Eric's gaze.

She later came to her senses that the black man's reaction was clearly one of shock and bewilderment, as if he were wondering how he could have a gun in his hand.

Moreover, according to her understanding, Eric was an experienced senior patrol officer, and taking away his service weapon would be a very difficult task.

So even though she didn't see how Eric shoved the gun into the black man's hand in an instant, the gun in the black man's hand was definitely Eric's doing.

Seeing the childlike stubbornness on Annie's face, Eric couldn't help but laugh and asked, "Are you curious about the reason?"

Annie nodded.

“Because he took my sidearm and pointed it at me! I had reason to believe the suspect was about to use deadly force, so I was defending myself,” Eric said.

"Rookie, what did you learn at the police academy?"

Upon hearing this, Annie wanted to say something in rebuttal, such as suggesting that there were other ways to do it, or that these people did not deserve to die.

But as soon as she opened her mouth, she suddenly realized that she was powerless to say anything, because the facts were right in front of her.

The black man made the first move, and then Eric's gun appeared in his hand.
So, she showed a look of both grievance and defiance on her face, and just stood there staring at you.

“Just a little brat!” Eric shook his head and turned to walk towards the exit.

"Let's keep things under control."

Annie stood there, staring at Eric's departing figure, his words echoing in her mind. For some reason, she felt truly unsettled for a long time.

But even though she hadn't seen him, Eric, who had already slowly walked away, remembered her expression and a smile crept onto his face. It was quite amusing to bully a newbie.

Yes, he was in charge of the whole thing, and he was the one who handed the gun to the black man.

But what does that matter?
It was just a matter of casually dealing with a few troublemakers and maintaining world peace.

It's that simple. Eric didn't take these few scoundrels seriously at all.

Even if the fact is that the black man did take the gun, his actions were indeed a bit extreme, and he even killed the people inside the house.

However, according to California law and federal precedent, no one can condemn him based on his actions.

The moment the black man grabbed the gun and pointed it at him, he was already in an invincible position.

Just like he said to the rookie, he had reason to believe that the suspect was about to use deadly force, so he was acting in self-defense.

The key point is that a Black man's "gun-grabbing behavior" can itself be considered a deadly threat; he doesn't need to wait for the suspect to fire; he can shoot and kill the suspect.

That's why law enforcement agencies are warning and advising citizens never to touch police equipment (including firearms).

Because California law considers this an immediate and fatal threat, you will die.

Of course, some brain-dead or stupid people might not be afraid of death.

He could have used other methods, but thinking of the poor person who called the police, he decided it would be better to just kill him.

There's a saying that goes, "Little devils are the hardest to deal with."

People like these will never change no matter what; in fact, they'll only get worse.

I recall the situation where the person inside the house pulled out a gun and showed signs of aggression, which was captured on body camera footage.

Eric instinctively patted his chest, as if brushing off the dirt left behind after the black man's impact.

Very stable.

but
Eric subconsciously looked at the empty space in front of him, and a notification sound rang in his ears.

This feels much more comfortable.

Eric smiled and walked out of the apartment building.

------

But afterwards, he wasn't so comfortable.

At that moment, the area outside the apartment building was filled with West Canyon Police Department vehicles and investigation team cars.

And he was being pointed at in the chest by the black man in front of him, who shouted:

"Only two days!!!!! Only two days have passed!! You!!!!"

Having said this through gritted teeth, Daves looked at Eric, who had an innocent look on his face and showed no signs of having just killed four suspects, and suddenly found himself at a loss for words.

This guy never has a moment of peace. He even considered throwing him somewhere else, but he couldn't bear to part with him.

Seemingly sensing Daves's disappointed tone, Eric coughed and whispered.

"Sir! The situation was really critical! It was one thing for him to hit me, but he suddenly took my service pistol and pointed it at me."

I have to protect myself, otherwise you'll only see my corpse!

"So your self-defense was to snatch the gun and get your head blown off?" Daves said through gritted teeth.

He had a feeling that something was wrong. He thought he knew Eric well, and he thought that a cunning guy like Eric would never let someone take his sidearm.

But he had no evidence. Even when he asked the newcomer Annie, Annie agreed with Eric's words because what she saw was exactly as Eric described.

"Well, there was no other way. I was so panicked that I just instinctively fought back," Eric said in a low voice.

"Sir, my mind is completely blank."

"Heh!" Daves was amused by this remark. Nobody's mind goes blank, but he didn't refute it. Instead, he seemed to agree with Eric's words and took a deep breath.

"Now you have to come back with me and undergo investigation!"

"Yes, sir!" Eric glanced to the side instinctively, where Annie was silently watching them.

To be honest, this girl should thank him for giving her time to rest.
