Eric was not about to let a fugitive who dared to walk right under his nose get away.
Because these are all walking experience packs, they can occasionally trigger quests.
Eric thought it would take some effort, but to his surprise, the fugitive who was waiting for the green light even though there were no cars on the road seemed quite Zen. As soon as he saw Eric drive the police car over, he stopped and raised his hands.
"Very good, as expected of a repeat offender, he's a sensible one."
-
“10-L-11 Call Dispatch Center, Code 1 (responding to an incident or radio call from an officer), Case No. 4586, fugitive code 95subj in custody. The prisoner/target has been apprehended and is now being brought back to West Canyon Police Department.”
Dispatch Center: "Received!"
Eric put down the walkie-talkie and steered the police car toward the West Canyon Police Department.
He appeared quite relaxed.
On a road with no cars, resting one hand on the car window and feeling the wind blowing is simply wonderful.
"Hey buddy, it's too quiet, can we listen to the radio? Or is this against the rules?" a voice came from behind.
Eric glanced back at him; the guy had the look of a blatant repeat offender.
However, remembering the other party's cooperative attitude throughout, Eric still asked, "What do you want to hear?"
"Slow songs? Do you have any? Something gentle, something nostalgic. If you don't know, check out the 92.3 slow song channel."
"OK!" Eric casually fiddled with the center console, and a beautiful song started playing.
The lyrics roughly translate to: "I enjoy every day of my life so much, but sometimes I feel lost. I want to find a peaceful space for my soul, to find an answer..."
"Shit! Of all the songs, it has to be this one!"
Eric glanced at the rearview mirror and saw the fugitive shaking his head and cursing under his breath, then suddenly laughed, as if he had let go of something.
"You've figured it out?" Eric asked with a smile, caught up in the atmosphere.
“Yap! Everyone needs a place to go, right?” The African American fugitive looked at the young patrolman and smiled in a rather nonchalant tone.
“I’ve been to jails in Chino, Cohen Valley, and Cochrane, and I’ve spent eight hours in county jails. It wasn’t actually that bad.”
"Damn, that's awesome." Eric raised an eyebrow. No wonder he felt a rather comfortable sensation from this guy. When Eric handcuffed him, he felt like the guy's expression was saying, "I'm home."
“You know your daily schedule, you have a bed to sleep in, and the food is free. The best part is that the county jail even has Salisbury steaks every Tuesday.”
“Good!” Eric said.
"You think it's great, right, buddy? Now that you've caught me, maybe I'm destined to stay in jail."
Eric didn't speak, he just listened.
"To be honest, I had no friends, no girlfriend to play with, and I was very bored. But when I got to prison, everyone there was talented and had a nice way of speaking, so prison became my home."
Eric shrugged and said, "Okay, congratulations on getting home."
The African-American fugitive smiled and looked at Eric earnestly, saying, "Thank you, officer. You're such a kind person, that's wonderful."
In the past, no police officer listened to what I said, but you will. You will be blessed by God, believe me.”
Eric was taken aback when he suddenly received a blessing from a fugitive, but in the end, he just smiled.
Actually, it seems he has already been blessed; not everyone has the chance to travel back in time.
-
West Canyon Police Department.
"It's over, Eric."
"Thanks for your hard work!"
Listening to the words of the detention area officer, Eric nodded, led the African American fugitive into the detention cell, then looked at him in the eye before turning and leaving.
Although this guy meant well, the two of them were simply from completely different worlds.
He went to the deserted patrol officers' break room, made himself a cup of coffee, and then returned to the police car.
They hadn't encountered a single person along the way; the entire West Canyon Police Station was eerily quiet. Eric put his coffee back in the cup holder and glanced at his watch.
[00: 35]
"It's alright, there's no mission." Eric was bored out of his mind, and with a more relaxed attitude, he drove the police car away from the scene and out of the police station.
"10-L (single patrol unit)-11, resume patrol."
The dispatch center called from the car: "Roger!"
In fact, he rarely had such a calm moment before.
Previously, every time I went out, there were constant police incidents.
Tonight, it seems like we've received a blessing; everything has become quite peaceful.
Even the radio stations have become much quieter.
Occasionally, due to Code 6-A (investigation is conducted off-site, requiring nearby units to be aware), some colleagues on the same wavelength will report the situation.
Will's, or even Weston's, voices may be heard, but it has nothing to do with him, because both of them have already resolved the incident, and there is no need for him to use his skills.
Eric was still thinking, "What if?"
Of course, he didn't forget to bring food for Darren and the other person.
Knowing Darren's personality, he'll definitely stay there for a long time to safely spend this wonderful night.
It's just tough on Lucy, the trainee police officer who's willing to learn and put in the effort.
However, it's not to say that Darren has nothing to learn. At least his grasp of danger and his sense of smell can greatly increase her safety during future patrols.
The King of Slacking Off, the Gun of Kindness is no joke.
-
"That's fantastic! I can't stop thinking about when you're going to bring the food!"
"Sorry, I just happened to catch a fugitive on the way."
Listening to Darren's complaints, Eric smiled, nodded to Lucy, and then got up to leave.
"I'm leaving now, so I won't disturb your time enjoying your meal."
"go Go."
Darren waved dismissively, while Lucy gave him a reluctant look. She preferred patrolling to loafing around here.
Unfortunately, Commander Eric didn't even glance at her before driving away.
Lucy could only sigh and open her lunchbox to eat.
As Darren opened the lunchbox, he asked casually, "Judging from your expression, you like patrolling? You like experiencing a bit of excitement?"
Lucy looked up: "I don't know, I just feel like staying here is a bit of a waste of time."
“I can tell,” Darren said with a nonchalant smile. “The fact that you’re looking at Eric means that somewhere deep down you like his patrol style. Unfortunately, I don’t. I prefer low-risk patrol methods.”
To be honest, we are indeed incompatible.
"It's alright, you'll have a chance to choose a partner when your internship ends."
Lucy opened her mouth, looking at Darren who had already started eating, wanting to say something but finding herself unable to utter a single word.
-
Eric didn't know what was happening here, but if he did, he would tell Lucy that Darren's experience was the most valuable thing to learn.
He continued driving his police car alone, wandering around everywhere.
Occasionally, I would pass by places where nightclubs were clustered together, with several men standing outside looking for fun, and a few women willing to play around with the men.
It exudes a strong nightlife vibe.
The group of people looked at the police car with disdain and indifference, but dared not do anything.
Eric was a little disappointed; he really hoped some fool would come looking for trouble. He glanced at the radio subconsciously.
The radio station remained very quiet.
