Chapter 237 The End
"fine."

Eric composed himself, shook his head at Helen to indicate that he didn't mind, and then extended his hand to the silent John Wick.

"Hello, Mr. Wick."

Although he had only watched the first movie in the series before traveling to this parallel world, he still remembered John Wick's character traits.

He's ruthless and doesn't talk much; he's a man of action and speaks very directly and concisely.

John Wick nodded slightly, shook hands with Eric, and then looked at Ray.

The two know each other, so there's no need for such formalities.

Lei, standing behind, simply shrugged in return.

Then, John Wick looked at Zizimin, who was next to Eric.

Is this seemingly guarded little girl about to become his family?
Zhizhimin was able to lead her younger brothers out of the den of demons because she had excellent senses and intuition, so she could roughly see a person's background.

She was provoked by the invisible killing intent emanating from John Wick, and shrank even further behind Eric, her small hands instinctively grabbing the hem of Eric's clothes.

This man was completely different from the gentle Ms. Helen she had just met; he seemed to come from another world. She was very familiar with the smell of blood.

Eric has a few of those traits, but his temperament is very peaceful.

Helen noticed Zhizhi's subconscious defensiveness, gently patted her husband's arm again, and said softly to Zhizhi:

“Don’t be afraid, Zhizhimin, John just looks a little serious, he’s a very nice person.”

She then explained to Eric, who was frowning, "He doesn't talk much, but he's very reliable."

John Wick, trying to appease his wife, nodded very slightly in the direction of Zhizhimin, attempting to soften his expression, but the effect was, well, only the best he could hope for.

Eric glanced down at Zhizhimin, who seemed to have sensed something, and a look of hesitation flashed in his eyes.

He really didn't expect that the people who adopted Zhizhimin would be John Wick and his wife.

Based on previous observations, Helen, John Wick's woman, seems to have suffered a relapse of her illness. It's just unknown whether she will die in this parallel world.

She chose to adopt Zhizhimin, probably for John Wick's sake.

In this way, the starting point is not quite right.

In particular, it is also associated with killers like John Wick.

Even if he is now retired.

However, judging from the plot of the movie, his state is actually one foot in the world of ordinary people, while the other foot is still deeply mired in the underground world.

Eric couldn't imagine what the future held if Zhizhimin was implicated.

Zhizhi Min already had that kind of background. Don't be fooled by her seemingly well-behaved nature; this child must have taken several lives as well.

This is troublesome. Eric had a bit of a headache, and he suddenly paused.

Eric noticed Helen looking at him with pleading eyes.

At that moment, John Wick suddenly spoke up: "If it was my fault that influenced your judgment, I can apologize to you, Officer Stevens."
If possible, I will take full responsibility for this child's future.

The killer spoke with great sincerity, but Eric also sensed a hint of malice in his words.

Helen concealed her illness from John Wick.

"This..." Eric sighed and looked down at Zhizhimin.

"Would you like to go with Ms. Helen? If not, I can take you with me first, or we can think of another way."

He also believed that the couple would definitely treat Zhizhimin well, but there were too many unsettling aspects to John Wick.

The atmosphere changed instantly upon hearing this. Helen stared intently at Zhizhimin, her eyes filled with tension.

Ray and Father Donnie were also puzzled as to why Eric would suddenly say such a thing, but Ray, considering Eric's unusual reaction, had a vague guess in his mind.

Eric knew John's background! Ray immediately pursed his lips and remained silent.

John Wick gave Eric a long look.

Zhizhi Min first widened her eyes in delight, but her gaze instantly turned hesitant. Then she lowered her head, looked up at Ms. Helen, and then looked at Eric. After a moment of silence, she finally spoke.

“I am willing to go with Ms. Helen.”

Eric took a deep breath. With his keen observation skills, how could he not see that the child was afraid of causing him trouble?

This child is so sensible.

"Please rest assured, Officer Stevens, we will treat Zhizhimin well," Helen's pleading voice interrupted his thoughts.

“If you’re worried, you can come and check on her regularly. If I’m saying that Zhizhi Min really doesn’t like us, then we will choose to respect that.”

John Wick echoed, "Officer, I can assure you as well."

Ray didn't say anything, but just nudged Eric's shoulder.

Even so, Eric looked at Zhizhimin calmly and said, "Don't be afraid of causing me trouble."

Upon hearing this, Zhizhimin glanced at Ms. Helen, then exchanged a look with John Wick, took a deep breath, and shook her head.

"Well, that's it," Eric thought, knowing that things had come to this point and he could only take it one step at a time.

After all, John Wick's return to public life should have been several years after Helen's death.

Therefore, this period should still be peaceful.

At worst, he can bring Zhizhimin back when John Wick decides to return to public life.

By then, he should have no need to fear anyone.

“Okay, I respect your opinion, but if you don’t like it, you can come back to me,” Eric said earnestly, patting Zhizhimin on the head.

Zhizhimin nodded obediently, appearing more relaxed than before, and then took the initiative to walk towards Helen.

Helen breathed a sigh of relief and took Zhizhimin's little hand in hers.

She didn't really understand why Eric, who had been perfectly fine, suddenly changed his tune when he saw John.

There's something suspicious about this; I'll have to ask John when I get back.

Helen, fearing another change, spoke up.

"Thank you for your trust. We will definitely take good care of Zhizhimin. Please leave some contact information with Father Donnie later so that we can communicate with him later."

Eric nodded and said, "Okay." He exchanged a glance with John Wick, who remained silent.

Now, he wasn't as moved as he had been before.

“Then we won’t bother you any longer. I want to take Zhizhimin home first, so she can get used to her new home,” Helen said, gesturing to John Wick before leading Zhizhimin, who kept turning back to look at her, away.

John Wick was a step behind, nodded to Eric, and said only a few words: "Goodbye, gentlemen." He then followed his wife out of the church.

Several people watched them leave.

"Alright, it's finally over," Father Donnie said.

"Please leave your contact information later, and also note theirs."

"Okay." The two nodded and exchanged contact information.

Not long after saying a formal goodbye to Father Donnie, Eric and Ray walked out of the church.

Eric looked at the silent Ray and adopted a stance of laying everything out in the open:
"Ray, are you sure you don't have anything to say to me?" He finally realized that Ray must know about the underworld.

Damn it, isn't Ray supposed to be the same kind of police officer from the beginning of the movie?
