Chapter 242 Very! beautiful!

Eric didn't care at all, feeling only pleased with himself, and replied cheerfully, "Who told you to like bullying newbies the most?"

What these people didn't know was that he was actually using them to practice his skills.

Although his fighting skills are only level 4, combined with his 'deep blue stat boost' to his body, Eric doesn't know just how strong he is.

Someone as strong and skilled in combat as Will could probably take down his opponent with just two punches.

Upon hearing this, Will sighed; there was no way to have a conversation with this person anymore.

The veteran police officers who had been listening to this all shook their heads and chuckled.

Suddenly a cough rang out: "Quiet!"

Everyone immediately adjusted their posture and looked towards the doorway.

I don't know when it happened, but Daves was already standing at the door with a folder in his hand. He looked serious and glared at me. Only after seeing that no one dared to challenge his authority as his direct superior did he stride into the briefing room and walk to the podium at the front.

Daves stopped and glanced in Eric's direction out of the corner of his eye. As always, Eric was standing with his arms crossed, looking in their direction.

I don't know why, but I don't see this guy usually, and I feel like my life is going by without any excitement.

When he arrived, the atmosphere seemed to change, as if he was expecting something.

A peaceful life is indeed uninspiring; I need to find some excitement for myself.

Damn it! Daves suppressed the thought without expression and said:
"Alright, gentlemen and ladies, put down the donuts and look straight ahead."

Daves's voice was steady and powerful, filling the entire briefing room without needing to be raised.

Before we start discussing which idiot personally let the suspect escape yesterday...

The patrol officers were immediately overjoyed and turned their attention to the first row.

Eric paused for a moment, looked at his men, and saw that Will's face was so dark it was almost dripping with water. He knew that this matter was related to Jonah, the rookie Will was training.

Weston whispered the answer: "Will and Jonah took the last police report before leaving get off work yesterday—a theft. When they got there..."
While Will was inspecting the pried-open back door of the supermarket, Jonah encountered a suspicious person ahead. Seeing that the man was wearing a supermarket uniform, Jonah assumed he was a supermarket employee and, after questioning him, let him go.

Eric raised an eyebrow and easily sorted out the matter.

It was nothing more than the thief wearing a supermarket employee uniform, swaggering in, and when Jonah came over to question him, claiming to be a supermarket employee who had come to check things out. Naïve Jonah believed him.
“Although there are many loopholes, this thief is quite clever; someone without experience could easily be fooled,” Eric said to Will, trying to comfort him.

Will snorted sullenly, staring intently at Jonah in the first row.

"Eric!"

Before a bigger commotion could erupt, Daves's voice rang out, calming the atmosphere.

"Welcome back. Vacation is vacation, but hopefully you didn't spend all the taxpayers' money on the beach and beer."

Another restrained, friendly chuckle rang out in the briefing room.

Eric's lips twitched slightly, as if in response to the joke.

"Speaking of which, while you were enjoying your vacation, your promotion to Police Officer III took effect."

Daves did not explain why Eric was promoted to Constable Level 3, but no one present had any questions.

Everyone nodded slightly to Eric.

"Congratulations, Eric. I hope you can live up to the rank of a Level 3 Constable."

Upon hearing Daves's words, Eric replied, "Yes, sir!"

Daves nodded in satisfaction: "Alright, enough chit-chat, let's get down to business."

Last night, those bastards in the North District started stealing catalytic converters again. The heat map shows they might have moved over to our area. Everyone keep your eyes peeled, especially in parking lots and older residential areas.

The morning meeting format was similar to previous ones. Besides the information mentioned above that patrol officers needed to be aware of, Daves also reported on several burglary patterns and descriptions of suspicious vehicles, urging everyone to be on the lookout. He also reminded everyone to be aware of a scammer targeting the elderly who was roaming the area.

It also emphasized the proper use of body cameras.

In his words, "Don't let me see anyone with their lens cap closed again, unless you're willing to pay for it with your own salary!"

Eric didn't seem to care much about this; in fact, the body camera issue was quite humane.

It's not as strict as the public says, and it's not something that has to be open all the time; the choice is in the hands of the patrol officers.

Of course, if you really want to encounter a serious crime, it's best to turn on the body camera.

In a sense, body cameras protect not only the public but also patrol officers.

This is a double-edged sword.

As he listened, Eric couldn't help but yawn, looked out the window, and lazily waited for the morning meeting to end.

Not long after, Eric turned around and listened when he heard Daves assigning patrol areas.

This is also important, as it means you'll know which colleague is in which area.

Fortunately, he was surrounded by veteran officers like Will.

Finally, Daves closed the folder: "The weather forecast says it will be very hot outside today, so people on the street will be irritable."

"Keep calm, listen more and talk less, and look at each other's backs."

As he spoke, Daves looked at Jonah's position and said earnestly, "The law gives you the power to use force, but it doesn't give you the power to use stupidity."

May God protect you. Meeting adjourned, depart!

Everyone shouted in unison, "Yes, sir!"

Daves glanced behind him, then strode out of the briefing room.

For a moment, the entire briefing room was in an uproar; some people got up, and some left.

“It’s finally over.” Will stood up and looked at Eric.

"As expected, you're still patrolling alone, Eric."

Eric shrugged. “It’s fine, isn’t it?” He gestured to Jonah, who was walking over cautiously with an awkward smile on his face.

Will's breath hitched, and he glared at Jonah: "I'm leaving. Call me if you need anything."

Eric waved his hand.

Darren: "I'll always be near you, Eric."

Weston: "See you later, Eric."

“Okay!” Eric nodded and watched the senior officers leave with the rookie under their supervision. Then he stretched, sat up, and slowly walked out of the briefing room.

As was his habit, Eric first went to the water dispenser in the corridor to get a glass of water, and then walked down to the lobby while drinking it.

The lobby downstairs remained the same, bustling with people, a mix of civilians and police officers.

However, the reception officer, Chief Diane, seemed to have gone even further with her makeup. Her lips were so red they couldn't be redder, and her face, which was a completely different shade from her neck, made her look even more like an old hag.

From afar, Eric saw Sheriff Diane standing there, her eyes shining as she looked at him. He took a deep breath, mentally prepared himself, put on a handsome smile, and walked over.

"Wow! Sheriff Diane! Long time no see, you've become even more beautiful! Very! Very! Beautiful!"
