Chapter 246 Disgusting
"Let's just treat it as a test."

Eric watched Hope hurry away, clock in at the forensic science building, and glanced at the detective agency building not far away, thinking to himself.

He had only had the Deep Blue skill point for a short time, and his previous tasks were all patrol-related emergency calls, not actual murder cases.

So this time, it was partly because he was bored, and partly because he was testing something with a purpose.

See if criminal cases that differ from routine patrols can trigger missions.

Of course, whether you can or not doesn't matter. If there's no task, then all cases are essentially the same. If there is, then there's probably a difference.

This could potentially determine his future career path.

Because it's obvious that once his professional career reaches three years, the natural limitations that limit him will no longer be able to hold him back or stop him from moving forward.

All the advantages brought by previous accumulation and rich experience will suddenly come into play.

Because in LAPD, time and years of service are the ticket; without the ticket, you cannot enter the next phase.

Merit and outstanding performance are competitive advantages that determine how fast and how far you can go after you get your ticket.

By then, neither he nor the police will be able to suppress him, since many people are watching.

That's why he planned his career path in advance, since he had a backup plan of 'illegal operations'.

Eric made up his mind and drove away.

-

Regional 911 dispatch center.

Abby was dispatching a fire brigade to the rescue. She stared intently at the widescreen monitor, exhaled softly, and instinctively glanced at the second screen next to her, searching for a specific icon.

There is a piece of information marked 10-L-11.

When Abby saw the icon stop on a street, she couldn't help but think, "Is he taking a break?"

Eric probably never imagined that a woman was secretly watching his every move.

Just as Abby was lost in thought, another emergency call sounded. She quickly composed herself and answered the call.

As soon as the call connected, crying and shouting could be heard in the background, and Abby immediately judged that this was a family matter.

"911, what's the emergency?" she asked, keeping her voice steady.

The next second, words came from inside that left even the battle-hardened Abby somewhat bewildered.

"I need the police! Right now! I... I'm being sexually assaulted in my home! It's incest! A mother and son! My mother and her biological son!"

Fuck! He's still inside! Fuck! Fuck!

The caller's voice trembled, but he tried his best to remain clear. Abby took a deep breath and suppressed the chaos in her heart, saying, "Sir, please calm down and tell me your address?"

"The address is 334 Lakeside Drive! Send someone over quickly! Please!"

Abby quickly typed a few keys on the keyboard, located the address, and suddenly realized that the destination was only two streets away from 10-L-11.

To calm the person who called the police down, Abby said:
"Yes, sir, we're sending someone. Are you referring to your mother and her son? How old is the son? And what is your relationship with him?"

“I’m his brother, he… he must be 27! I… I just got home and saw them in the living room… they weren’t dressed, my God.”

Abby continued, "Understood, sir. Please ensure your safety. Is there anyone else in the house besides them? Do you have a weapon?"

"There's no one else! Just the two of them! I have no weapons! I won't do anything stupid, but please hurry! I'm in a terrible mood right now!"

Abby said, "Sir, please stay in a safe place, such as outside or another room, lock the door, and do not get into any conflict with them."

When the police arrive, please raise your hands and follow instructions. Can you do that?

-

Eric sat in the driver's seat, watching the pedestrians around him, occasionally taking a sip of coffee, waiting to see if anything would happen.

If not, he moved to another place.

If I just space out for a while longer, it'll be time for lunch.

At that moment, the police radio suddenly crackled to life, drawing his attention. "10-L (Solo Patrol)-11, Code 2-HIGH (Priority Event, Requires Use of Police Lights or Siren) Address: Lakeside Drive 334."

Report type: Step-family dispute, code 285 (incestuous relationship). Crying and arguing were heard. The caller is 19 years old and may still be at the scene. The suspect's mother and brother may be inside the house. This case requires your priority handling.

Eric paused for a moment, but didn't show much emotion. He casually picked up the walkie-talkie and said...

"10-L (Solo Patrol)-11, received, en route to investigate."

After saying that, he put down the walkie-talkie and drove the police car toward its destination.

He knows this place.

As for its quality level, it's roughly in the lower-middle to middle range.

However, the nature of this case was somewhat unusual, causing Eric to subconsciously frown.

In his two years as a police officer, this was the first time he had received such an unsettling call.

"What luck." Eric's cheek twitched, and he subconsciously thought of the train incident.

Could it be that the system is deliberately punishing him?
Eric shook his head, drove past the first intersection, composed himself, and focused his attention on the case at hand.

Under California law, incest is a felony, and both parties face two penalties regardless of whether they consent.

① Two to three years of imprisonment in state jail ② A hefty fine.

This is why the dispatch center says to prioritize processing.

After all his jumbled thoughts had passed, Eric found himself driving to his destination, the lakeside driveway, and following the number, he drove to number 334.

Inform them over the walkie-talkie: Code 6 is leaving the vehicle for investigation.

Then we started to determine which house it was.
Eric suddenly noticed a thin, middle-aged man, probably in his forties, standing on the open lawn outside the house, shirtless and wearing only athletic shorts, looking completely bewildered.

If it's a step-family family, then this is probably the stepfather?

Seeing the man looking over, Eric composed himself, opened the door and got out of the car, his right hand instinctively resting on his holster.

"What's going on, buddy?"

Upon noticing the police approaching, the man went to greet them, looking utterly shocked.

“This is terrible, officer. I just walked in and saw my wife and her son doing that kind of thing.”

Eric's lips twitched slightly as he glanced at the reasonably sized detached house:
"Ok."

To be honest, he was already thinking of calling for backup; his fragile heart couldn't handle this disgusting situation.

"Really, I'm absolutely not joking, officer!" the middle-aged man said, seemingly genuinely unsure of what to do.

"She was completely drunk, and so was that bastard, and then when they found out, that bastard ran away!"

“OK! OK! Please calm down. I heard it was another nineteen-year-old who called the police?” Eric said.

"Yes, that's her other son. Neither of her sons are related to me by blood." The middle-aged man seemed to realize belatedly that the matter was a bit disgusting and consciously distanced himself from it.

“My real daughter lives over there, that’s my real daughter.”

“OK! Could you please call the other son over here? He’s the one who called the police,” Eric said.

"You can give him a call."

After seeing the middle-aged man nod and take out his phone, Eric decisively stepped back a few paces, took out his walkie-talkie, switched channels, and called for backup.

"10-L (single patrol)-11, calling 10-A (two patrol unit)-16, requesting support."

"10-A (two-person patrol unit)-16, received, responding."

10-A (Two-person patrol unit) - 16 units, which is Darren and Lucy's patrol unit.

Upon hearing the reply, Eric glanced at the house and calmed himself down; he didn't want to witness an eyesore.

Well, this kind of tricky and disgusting task is perfect for Darren, who always loves to slack off.
