Chapter 250 Emergency Notice
Eric habitually found his usual corner, plopped down, leaned back in his chair, and waited for Will and the others with a bored expression.

He was already starting to regret going to the wealthy area because it was so boring. There was absolutely nothing to do but sit around and do nothing.

It made him feel like he was wasting his time.

However, this is the norm for many patrol officers.

If there are no police calls, he either drives around patrolling, chatting with a few informants or people on the street, or he sits in his car on the street, enjoying the air conditioning and spacing out. He only goes out when there is a call.

The whole day just passed like that.

This situation was like paradise for Darren, but it was also incredibly boring for him.

"Could it be that my excitement threshold is abnormal?" Eric tilted his head and wondered.

Just as he was thinking this, the sound of an engine interrupted his thoughts.

Eric looked up and saw several police cars slowly appearing, stopping one by one behind his patrol car.

It's Will and his team.

With the addition of the trainees they brought—or rather, the rookies—the once relatively empty place was suddenly swarmed with a large group of patrol officers.

Upon seeing Will and his group, Eric raised his hand in greeting, then walked over as he watched Will and the other veterans with their distinctive service stripes directing the newbies to take orders.

"Hey buddy, how's it like slacking off?" Darren's voice arrived before he did.

"You're not afraid of encountering a similar police case this morning, are you? Don't panic, with me, Darren, here, I'll definitely come to your aid immediately!"

Eric was speechless. He reached out and touched hands with him. These patrolmen really did have a way of making sarcastic remarks.

"Okay, I'll wait until the next time I encounter a shooting."

Darren coughed and sat down: "I'll have to think about it."

Weston, sitting down beside Eric, gave him a disdainful look and said, "Even though this guy is slacking off, he'll probably still give you some support."

Will and Eric bumped fists as a greeting, and Will pulled out a chair and sat down last: "He's always dragging us down! He'll be crying for his mom."

“Mommy, Mommy, Mommy,” Weston interjected.

As he spoke, he and Will looked at each other and smiled.

Darren didn't care and gave the two bastards the middle finger.

"Fake!"

Eric, who was sitting among them, was also amused and shook his head with a laugh.

These clowns are really something!
After chatting and laughing for a while, the rookies brought over the food, including Eric's.

Will took his food from the rookie Jonah and asked, "Didn't you forget to ask the vendor to add hot sauce?"

Jonah immediately stepped forward and said, "I've already put it away for you, sir!"

Will waved his hand, signaling him to get lost.

Eric glanced at Lucy, nodded, and accepted his lunch.

Thank you!

Lucy nodded in acknowledgment and then handed another copy to her training instructor, Darren.

Darren also expressed his gratitude.

This made Jonah, who was watching from the side, a little envious.

Weston pointed to the table and chairs on the other side: "There are no seats for you. Go sit over there."

"Yes! Sir!"

Upon hearing this, the rookies formed their own team, found adjacent tables and chairs to sit at, and maintained a respectful distance from their instructors.

Eric and his friends didn't mind and started eating.

“Eric, you’re already a Level 3 Constable. Do you have any plans to take the test?” Darren asked.

Will and Weston exchanged a glance and looked at Eric.

The upper limit for police officers is senior officers like them, Police Officer III+1. At this level, they have a high degree of freedom.

Of course, Eric is now in a very free position, naturally becoming an important support role, but the benefits and salary of a senior patrol officer are at least better than those of a third-level officer.

Becoming a Police Officer III+1 requires passing a competitive exam, which Eric is more than capable of doing and poses no difficulty whatsoever.

“I’ve only served for two years so far, I probably don’t meet the assessment requirements yet,” Eric said.

“You’re Eric, who in the entire West Canyon Police Department doesn’t respect you?” Will said calmly.

"As long as you mention it to Daves, he will definitely arrange it for you. Given your special circumstances, it should take about two years."

Eric narrowed his eyes slightly and said while eating, "We'll see. I'm not in a hurry anyway."

Weston added, "This monster is only twenty-five years old. If it weren't for his youthful face, I would have thought I was facing a seasoned veteran who's been around for decades."

Darren chimed in, "If my son were Eric, I would die happy."

That damn guy is sneaking around trying to take advantage of you again.

"Fuck!" Eric laughed and cursed.

"Darren, I'm your father!"

Darren grunted and took a big bite of his burrito, acting like a tough nut to crack.

Eric shook his head, as if to say something, when suddenly a rather serious voice came through everyone's walkie-talkies.

The sudden sound broke the harmonious atmosphere.

"Attention all units, this is 10-Adam-1! An emergency has occurred near Westlake, at the intersection of Olympic Avenue and South Park Road."

Several suspects were armed with long guns and exchanged fire with the detective team and SAWT.

We need to establish an outer perimeter blockade.

Eric and his companions exchanged glances and frowned.

10-Adam-1 has always been the superintendent's code name, meaning that this was a notice personally issued by their direct superior, Daves.

"I need all available units to respond immediately! Units from the Central Bureau are on their way to provide support, and I need you to fill the gaps. Unit assignments are now being made!"

10-L-11!10-A-15!10-A-3!10-A-16!你们是第一批响应单位!”

These unit numbers are all Eric, Weston, Will, and Darren's.

It seems Daves caught them during their mealtime and knew they weren't on a mission.

Daves paused for a moment, waiting for the information to be received by them.

"It sounds very urgent."

Eric glanced at Will and the others, who were frowning, and shrugged. "Guys, looks like we've got something to do."

His tone was quite relaxed and comfortable.

Eric glanced up at the rookies sitting in front of him. They had heard him too and looked on as if they were facing a formidable enemy.

Yes, the announcement has already covered all the important information.

Multiple suspects, also armed with long guns, engaged in a fierce firefight with detectives and SAWT.

Just hearing that is enough to instill fear in people.

There's a saying that goes, "All talk and no action." People may imagine themselves to be brave and awesome, but when faced with reality, many people's minds go blank. Amidst the intense gunfire and the atmosphere, they might even forget to fire back.

Some people may also experience a stress response and feel difficulty breathing.

Eric thought of a term from his past life: keyboard warrior. Not everyone can face the possibility of death directly; this invisible pressure can only be felt when you face it yourself.

Eric, however, thought he was supposed to be blocking off an intersection with Will and the others.

Unexpectedly, Daves' next announcement came through the walkie-talkie: "10-L-11! Your mission is to immediately close the eastbound lanes of Olympic Avenue, about 200 yards west of South Park Road, and establish a hard blockade!"
You can use your vehicle as a roadblock to prevent any civilian vehicles from entering!
Once received, please reply with the code and estimated arrival time (ETA). Done!
