Chapter 284 Mission Completed (Two Chapters Combined)

A sense of relief was felt because the task force's operation was very successful, and they saw hope.

The new tension arises from their impending confrontation with the four thugs inside the house; close combat will be the most dangerous part.

Rafe stared at the drone screen, his expression grave, and said, "Team C, move forward and coordinate with the assault team's attack!"

Since most of the bandits' attention had been drawn to the assault team, they couldn't afford to remain indifferent and waste this opportunity.

"Roger that!"

The team leader of Team C began waving and led his team from the warehouse towards the main house.

Low house 2.

The four of them instinctively looked at Eric, who was leading the team, their eyes conveying the message that they would go wherever their boss pointed.

However, Eric simply gestured, and led the four men out of the low house 2, sticking close to the back wall of the main house on the east side, where they temporarily took up their positions.

All they did was change their position; they didn't take any further action.

Carlos and the other three were all taken aback.

"No need to rush, they can't escape. They're the ones who're trapped, so they should be the ones in a hurry, not us."

Eric simply stared at the direction of the main house, which was filled with thick smoke, and said calmly, "These people are well-trained thugs. They will not sit idly by and wait to be killed. They will not choose to hold their ground, but will instead launch a counterattack. It will be very dangerous for us to go there now."

Beware of explosives and flanks.

His intuition told him that the heavy firepower prepared by this group of thugs was not just limited to machine guns and grenades.

His bristling hairs and slightly tingling scalp told him that the most dangerous part was yet to come.

Moreover, there's no need to risk such a large confrontation in a situation where one has the upper hand; it's completely unnecessary.

It would be even better if they didn't break through; once the main force arrives, they won't be able to escape.

At this point, the desperate struggle of a cornered beast is the most dangerous stage.

The team members felt a chill, but carried out the order without hesitation, quickly spreading out in tactical formation, their fingers lightly on the triggers, staring at the main house filled with thick smoke.

"Woven is finished."

Without waiting for any response, Sheen knew that Woven was finished, and a sense of grief and ruthlessness instantly filled his heart.

Miguel and Ryan also showed the same grief and ruthlessness on their faces.

"It's all you!"

Miguel stared at the distraught Armand, his expression twisted as he repeated the same sentence.

"It's all you! It's all you!"

Armand opened his mouth, then slapped himself hard across the face, causing his mouth to bleed instantly.

Ryan stared at Armand, his eyes also bloodshot, but the next second he roared, "I'm going out there and fighting them!"

"Shut up!" Sheen said in a deep voice, his face showing a desperate madness.

"Listen! We have no way out. The police will not leave any survivors. If you want to live, fight me one last time!"
Ryan, the RPG is ready. The first shot should be aimed directly at where Warwin is. I suspect they might still be holding out there. Even if they aren't, it should be enough to collapse the area, creating maximum noise and shrapnel to obstruct their view.

Don't hesitate for the second shot either. Strike directly at the area where they're most likely to gather or advance—that open area with the low houses! Cover that area with shrapnel and shockwaves; even if you don't kill them all, keep them pinned to the ground.

With bloodshot eyes, Ryan pulled out an RPG-7 and deftly loaded a PG-7V rocket.

Armand, Miguel, after hearing the RPG explosion, throw all your grenades and smoke grenades out the doorway with a two-second delay, covering the area to the left, right, and in front of the door.

I want to turn that place into a dead zone filled with debris and thick smoke! So that they can't see where we are, and they don't dare to look up.

Armand and Miguel took out all the grenades they had, pulled the pins, and held one in each hand, ready to throw them with a delay.

Sheen silently checked the gun in his hand.

A suffocating and maddening pre-battle silence filled the kitchen; everyone knew that life or death would be decided in the next few seconds.

"Don't linger in the fight, save as many lives as you can!" Sheen suddenly laughed.

"Death doesn't matter. This is a battlefield for us too. Move out!"

The moment those words were spoken, the four, like cornered beasts, sprang into action, with Ryan and Armand leading the charge towards the smoke-filled back door.

The team members were still unaware of what was happening, but Eric, with his back against the cold back wall of the main house, had his senses and perception heightened to the extreme.

The unusual silence inside the room, interspersed with the occasional heavy metallic scraping sound, raised his alarm to the highest level.

"Be on guard," Eric said.
"Beware of heavy firepower attacks. Prepare to evade to the maximum extent possible. Eliminate all moving targets with weapons immediately without warning."

The next second, Eric suddenly heard rapid footsteps coming from inside the main house, and even heard the faint sound of metal clashing.

A chilling feeling washed over him simultaneously.

Damn, this is the first time my body has given me such a strong warning.

"Take cover! Get out of the way!"

Eric yelled, and without thinking, grabbed a bewildered SWAT officer next to him, shoved him backward so he rolled off the ground, then lunged further away, rolling backward as well.

"Fire!"

Sheen's roar rose from the thick smoke.

With his RPG-7 slung over his shoulder, Ryan rushed out of the main house and, relying on his memory, pulled the trigger hard against the back window of the low house 2.

Whoosh! With a piercing whistle, the PG-7V rocket, trailing a plume of flame, roared out of the smoke and crashed into the entire rear window.

Boom! The massive explosion shattered the back window, sending bricks and stones flying and filling the air with smoke and dust.

The deafening roar echoed through the sky, causing all the SWAT team members of Team C, including everyone at the command post, to freeze for a moment as they looked up at the main building.

Even the patrol officers stationed on the outskirts and the residents who were being stopped were all startled and didn't know what had happened.

Daves's face immediately darkened, his expression filled with worry. He looked towards the main house and hurriedly left, running towards the command point.

The enormous explosion was indeed awe-inspiring.

-

Boom! Boom! Boom! Sizzle!
As the rocket exploded, several fragmentation grenades and smoke grenades were also thrown out of the thick smoke, exploding on both sides of the back door of the main house. The fragmentation and shockwave covered the area that Sheen and the others thought they might be hiding.

Fortunately, Eric had already ordered an evasive maneuver before the rocket's exhaust plume appeared.

Having blindly followed Eric's orders and developed an instinctive reaction to them, Carlos and his men reacted extremely quickly, simultaneously performing maximum tactical rolls and rapid retreats to the sides and behind any available cover, in sync with Eric.

They had barely left their positions when a second PG-7V and a grenade exploded in front of and to the sides of their original positions, sending steel balls and pre-formed fragments flying wildly in a fan shape, covering a large area.

Because Eric's warning was timely enough and his change of position was well-chosen, the assault team perfectly avoided the main kill range of the rockets and grenades.

Although there were still some debris and raging shockwaves, they no longer had much impact on them.

"This is a rocket?"

Rafe was instantly jolted awake by the second explosion of the PG-7V. His eyes widened as he watched the two small plumes of dust rise from the drone screen, a bad premonition rising within him. He shouted anxiously, "Quick! Get in there!"

"Go! Go! Go!" Team C rushed into the main house.

"Please, please, nothing bad happens!!!" Rafe thought through gritted teeth. As the commander, he couldn't help himself and, amidst the bewildered look of the drone operator, grabbed an M4 and rushed towards the main house.

-

"Cough! Tch! They even have rockets, this is outrageous!" Eric spat out the sand that had splashed into his mouth, spat, and subconsciously glanced to the side.

Apart from the SWAT officer standing with him, whose arm was bleeding from what appeared to be a shrapnel wound, the rest of the officers were hiding behind him.

This was also thanks to the timely change of position, directly hiding on the side wall of the main house, without rushing to attack; otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

Looking at their terrified yet relieved faces, Eric exhaled slowly and looked into the thick smoke that obscured everything.

The tingling sensation on the scalp has subsided, indicating that the most dangerous period has passed, and the harvest is about to begin.

Their position was advantageous, with side wall cover and a wide enough firing angle; the disadvantage was that the smoke obscured their vision.

at the same time!

It happened at the moment when the smoke and dust from the explosion were at their thickest and visibility was at its worst.

"rush!"

Sheen roared and charged out of the doorway from the left and right, the wounded Miguel on the right. He opened fire wildly with his AR-15 towards the low house, using dense firepower to provide cover for Ryan and Armand, who were carrying RPKs.

Ryan also threw away the empty launcher, holding the RPK and Armand following closely behind, firing bullets like a waterspout.

Bang bang bang bang!
But they didn't know Eric's exact location; they were in the smoke and just kept firing at what they thought were the right spots.

Bullets relentlessly struck the side wall of the low house ③ or the side wall of the main house, causing debris to fall continuously.

The information gap between the two sides is quite significant here.

"Is this the advantage of thermal imaging?" Eric muttered to himself, silently noting this point, and said in a deep voice.

"Open space at the back gate! Fire in the direction of the gunfire!" The voice, like the Grim Reaper's command, jolted Carlos and the others awake.

Da da da! Da da da! Da da da!
Apart from the injured SWAT officer, three M4s opened fire simultaneously, and crossfire from multiple directions instantly covered the main building's exit area.

Bullets rained down into the smoke like a storm.

Many shots missed, and several even whizzed past Ryan, who was firing the first shot.

Without cover, this kind of firing with an empty magazine, creating a spread of crossfire, will inevitably result in someone being killed.

The first to fall was Armand, who was leading the charge with Ryan. He had barely taken six steps out the door when at least three bullets struck him in the chest, abdomen, and head! His bulletproof vest stopped the first bullet, but subsequent bullets instantly took his life, and he collapsed without a sound.

"Side wall!!!!!"

Through the smoke, Sheen saw Armand fall to the ground. As he tried to use the rubble of the porch as cover to retreat down the hillside, he shouted and turned his gun toward the side wall of the main house.

"Die!" Ryan, who was in charge of heavy firepower support, immediately shifted his gun and fired at the side wall.

Only his position and firing angle could hit Eric.

But Eric's speed and precision exceeded his comprehension. The instant Ryan raised his gun, Eric had already pinpointed his position and fired a short burst.

boom! boom! boom!
One shot hit Ryan's RPK, sparks flying, the immense force nearly knocking the RPK out of his hand. The second shot grazed his head, and the third, and most lethal, seized the tiny opening created by the impact of the first two shots and precisely pierced his right eye socket!
puff!
All of Ryan's movements stopped instantly. His remaining eye was filled with unbelievable horror and frozen despair. His remaining left eyeball swayed and finally fixed on Sheen's grief-stricken face, who was rushing towards him. Then his body swayed and fell straight backward.

“Rian!!!” Sheen roared.

Miguel, who was originally following Sheen, was instantly frightened when he saw Ryan fall. He gritted his teeth, stopped and let Sheen rush over, then turned around and ran back into the main house to try to put up a last stand.

boom!
But just as he retreated towards the back door, right in the weakest point of the smoke, a shot rang out from sniper number two on the hillside.

A .308 bullet blew the area near his ear open, and Miguel's body went limp, collapsing in front of the back door. He stared intently at the back door steps, his pupils filled with a strong will to survive and a reluctance to leave this world. He struggled to crawl to the door and then fell silent.

Sheen witnessed the horrific scene of Ryan being instantly shot in the head and falling down, and the moment Miguel tried to retreat back into the house but was precisely shot and killed by a sniper in the distance.

Grief and utter despair overwhelmed him instantly, like ice water poured over his head.

"Ah!!!" Sheen let out a roar of extreme unwillingness, almost like that of a wild beast, staring at the side wall of the main house! He knew it was all over.

With all his comrades killed in action, his escape route completely blocked, and himself exposed in the open, he had no chance against a highly skilled SWAT team with only a rifle, equipped with thermal imaging, sniper support, and exceptional tactical expertise.

At the same time, only one final thought remained in his mind: who was leading the team? The three short bursts of fire that kept ringing out throughout the entire process were like a demonic sound, frantically drilling into his brain.

As he kept moving and firing, he kept staring intently at the side wall. As the smoke began to dissipate at the edge, he suddenly saw a pair of extremely clear eyes.

boom! boom! boom!
Eric's M4A1 was already firmly aimed at Sheehan, and he fired three more precise and rhythmic shots.

The first bullet hit the receiver of the AR-15 in Sheen's hand with precision!
Snap! The rifle's core component was destroyed, rendering it unusable instantly, and it flew out of Sheen's hands.

The second bullet pierced his forehead, creating a cavity in the back of his head.

*Pfft!* Blood exploded!

The third shot, fired in the backyard where Sheen had lost his balance due to being shot repeatedly, pierced his temple with unparalleled precision, like the kiss of death.

All of Sheen's movements, roars, resentment, and anger froze completely at this moment. His body stiffened abruptly, and the mad light in his eyes and the figure carrying the M4 rifle away from the side wall quickly dimmed, replaced by a deathly silence.

He swayed, then fell heavily backward, crashing onto Ryan's body and the cold ground, kicking up a small cloud of dust.

The smoke and fumes were still slowly dissipating.

Gunfire continued to rise and fall, but Eric could already hear a familiar voice in his ear.

Eric immediately stretched out his left hand, palm facing behind him.

“Stop!!”

Carlos and his men, who had developed an instinctive response to Eric's commands, immediately stopped firing. When they saw Eric slowly moving towards the dissipating smoke, they silently assumed a tactical formation, slightly bowing and holding their M4s to their shoulders, aiming them at the smoke, and followed Eric into the smoke.

Everything became quiet, which made them feel somewhat uneasy.

Eric approached the two bodies, gun still pointed at Sheehan's corpse, and made a final check.

Both corpses had large chunks of their heads missing, with brain tissue scattered all over the ground.

They were absolutely dead.

Then, Eric looked around. In the small area where the smoke was beginning to dissipate, four corpses lay scattered about.

"It wasn't easy, but it's finally over. This mission shouldn't have been rated 0.5." Eric wiped the gunpowder stains from his face.

He witnessed and experienced the scene of joining the Counter-Terrorism and Special Operations Bureau to complete missions and earn attribute points in a different way.

"As expected, Tifa was right. The Counterterrorism and Special Operations Bureau is too dangerous. They put on such a big show and only got 0.5 points. Who can handle that? The Detective Bureau is more suitable for me."

Eric loosened his M4, tapped his headset with a relaxed air, and announced the end of the mission.

"Command point, all targets behind the main building have been eliminated. Repeat, all targets have been eliminated, and all four targets have been confirmed dead."
