Chapter 65 Fear of Insufficient Firepower (Please continue reading)

However, to Eric, who was on edge, the Toyota Corolla slowly drove up without making any move, but continued to drive forward until it disappeared from his sight.

Eric looked away and used his left hand to steer the car into the garage, where the curtains were already fully open.

"What a pity, I was also hoping to practice my rapid shooting level 5 (specialization) while I was here."

With that thought in mind, Eric stopped the car but didn't get out. He remained seated, watching in the rearview mirror as the garage door slowly descended and closed.

Then, holding the Kanek TP9SF, he got out of the car and slowly walked towards the small door deep inside, heading home.

He didn't know if the Toyota Corolla was there for him, but based on the clues he had gathered, Eric felt there was an 80% chance it was for him.

As for why they haven't made a move yet, it's unclear whether the other party is testing the waters first or simply not ready.

Upon entering the house, Eric turned on the lights as usual and tucked the Kanek TP9SF into his waistband.

Then he pulled a tablet out of the drawer under the living room TV.

As mentioned above, when he arrived in this parallel world, he felt a strong sense of unease and insecurity, which can be summarized as a lack of security.

So he made too many preparations.

For example, some security cameras in the home.

To ensure his privacy was not compromised, he installed all the necessary cameras outside the building.

As a result, from then until now, he has never needed this camera kit.

This area is where wealthy people live, and it's a place that the nearby police station pays close attention to. So, patrol officers often come here to look around when they're on duty.

"It seems the time has come to use it."

Eric sat on the sofa, opened his tablet, and waited for the screen to light up before entering the relevant control software. Small squares began to appear on the screen.

Each small square captures a scene of what is happening outside.

However, Eric saw nothing suspicious. He lay down on the sofa, staring at the ceiling in silence.

My mind was racing.

Although he didn't know why the South Koreans hadn't taken action, he had a feeling that they were waiting for a certain time or opportunity to strike.

"Timing. Opportunity?"

Eric glanced at the darkening sky outside, shook his head, and got up to walk towards the kitchen area.

I prepared a meal for myself.

After finishing his meal, he calmly tidied up.

He then walked through the living room, picked up the tablet, turned off the lights along the way, and slowly made his way to the main room.

I raised my wrist; it was already 8:30 p.m.

Looking at the tablet computer that was always on, there was still nothing unusual outside; everything seemed so peaceful.

Eric pursed his lips, entered the large main room, turned on the light, walked to his wardrobe, opened it, rummaged through the clothes, and pulled out the bottom door.

As the automatic sensor lights came on, the hidden mechanism inside suddenly appeared before our eyes.

The layout of the shelves is similar to that of a warehouse at home, with the inside being quite empty.

But he also carried a shotgun, a pistol, a soft body armor vest, and a tactical belt. The shotgun was a Benelli M4, known as the king of tactical shotguns, and it was indeed quite good. What he liked most was its gas-operated semi-automatic design, modular accessories, and ammunition compatibility.

The pistol is a Beretta M9A3, which is the latest version of the M9 series. As for why he used this gun, it's because it has strong tactical versatility and can be fitted with a suppressor.

Of course, what he likes most is that this gun, like the Carnik TP9SF, also has a high magazine capacity, comes standard with a 17-round magazine (20/30 rounds optional), and has better sustained firepower than the original M9.

I don't know if it's because he has some kind of strange fear of insufficient firepower, but he always likes these high-capacity pistols.

Eric chuckled for no apparent reason. He thought of his homeland from his previous life, and his gaze lingered on the very last thing.

Guns were easy to obtain, but this bulletproof vest was the most difficult to acquire, requiring considerable effort.

If assessed according to NIJ standards, this body armor is rated at Level III, capable of withstanding 7.62mm NATO full jacket rounds (rifle rounds), such as AK-47 and M16.

Eric pulled out the Carnik TP9SF he had been keeping tucked into his waistband and put it in; he planned to use a Beretta M9A3.

The Carnik TP9SF is good, but it has a very obvious drawback: the recoil is quite noticeable when firing continuously, unlike full metal pistols.

After placing the Carnik TP9SF, Eric then took out the body armor, tactical belt, Benelli M4, Beretta M9A3 on top, and a rather large box below, and laid them flat on the floor.

Fortunately, he had been preparing for this all along, and even planned to expand his private arms arsenal, otherwise he really would have had to find an opportunity to run away.

I closed the wardrobe door, sat down on the spot, and began tidying up.

Eric glanced at the tablet computer in his field of vision again, and after confirming that there was no problem outside, he opened the box, revealing an Osprey silencer, a series of 20-round magazines, a full compartment of 9×19mm Parabellum rounds, and a box full of shotgun slugs.

"let's start."

Eric thought to himself, first reaching for the Beretta M9A3 magazine, then picking up the Parabellum 9mm pistol rounds from the box and loading them in one by one.

Before long, four magazines were filled, making a total of five magazines and one hundred rounds, in addition to the original magazines in the Beretta M9A3.

This setup was enough for him to play round after round.

Why prepare so much? Is it just that damn fear of insufficient firepower at play?

After preparing the Beretta M9A3, Eric glanced at the tablet to confirm, and then proceeded to prepare the Benelli M4.

A soft clicking sound echoed continuously inside the room.

Some time has passed.
Eric glanced at the tablet again to check the time.

It was already around 9 p.m.

"There's been no movement yet. Are they planning to break in while I'm sleeping?"

Eric muttered to himself, glancing at the body armor on the floor, along with the neatly arranged 5+1 Benelli M4s, Beretta M9A3s, and four magazines. He breathed a sigh of relief and began equipping himself.

He wouldn't let his guard down just because there was no movement; in fact, he was on high alert.

First, he picked up the bulletproof vest.

After putting on the tactical belt and making sure it wouldn't interfere with your movements, fasten the belt around your waist, then casually put it on the holster, pick up the fully loaded Beretta M9A3 and insert it, then insert all four fully loaded magazines one by one.

After finishing his preparations, Eric reached for the Benelli M4 and tablet, turned off the lights, drew the curtains, and, taking advantage of the darkness and the light from the streetlights, sat down in the rocking chair by the bed.

"All that's left is to wait," a murmured voice rang out.

Outside the room window was a bright and sparkling night sky, but inside it was pitch black.
