Chapter 17: Shocking Opening (2)

Peter knew that Shocker was the first super villain he would encounter. He never thought that he would not encounter super villains after becoming Spider-Man, but he didn't know if he was ready.

And today is the time to prove yourself!

Spider-Man stood up from the inner wall of the Midtown Bank and began to run quickly around the circular bank lobby, forcing Terror to chase him and fire vibration waves. As expected, Herman continued to fire, breaking the intricately patterned ceiling. Spider-Man ran behind a marble pillar, and Terror fired a vibration wave, breaking the pillar.

"You know, Hermann? I quite like that Roman column."

Spider-Man didn't run over, but instead accelerated and charged forward, swinging on the spider web, and kicked Shocker. Shocker took two steps back, and was hit in the face by Spider-Man who pounced on him with a powerful punch.

He swayed and stood up straight. Spider-Man looked at his fist with a look of disbelief on his face.

"Gold titanium alloy, kid." Thriller, who had accumulated energy, punched Spider-Man in the chin, knocking him away. Spider-Man, flying in the air, shot out spider silk to stick to the broken marble column and smashed it towards Hermann.

Jing Horror took a deep breath, retracted his fist, and punched out. The three or four ton marble column was directly shattered. However, at this moment, a spider web hit his face, blocking his vision.

"I have a question. If your fists are so powerful and your armor is so strong—"

Spider-Man landed on Shocker's back, the web in his hand directly stuck to his charged fist and pulled it towards his armored face.

At the moment when the heavy punch hit Terrorist in front of himself, Spider-Man suddenly jumped up, and the heavy vibration wave hit Terrorist's face. Terrorist took two steps back, and then couldn't help laughing when he saw Spider-Man falling to the ground.

"Great!" Spider-Man's silk had already caught the remaining part of the marble pillar, ripping it apart and throwing it at Terror. "Does that mean I can hit you with all my might?"

Then, a yellow figure leaped out of the smoke and dust and pounced directly at Spider-Man. Even with his spider sense, Peter couldn't dodge it this time and was tackled to the ground by Thriller, who raised his fist high.

"Say goodbye, Spider-Man!"

“I usually like to say, eggplant!”

Peter fired webs from both hands simultaneously, covering Terror's visor and deflecting his punch. Then he kicked Terror straight through the ceiling with his legs, then stood up with a somersault, clutching his still-aching head. "Hermann's outburst was too fast. Even with my spider sense, I didn't have time to react. Oh, no."

He immediately jumped up and dodged with a spin. To his horror, the ceiling from several floors fell down from the sky, and he stood up straight, seemingly unharmed.

"Do you think I'm still that little thug? I'm as strong as you now! Spider-Man! No, I'm stronger than you!"

"A question, Herman," Peter said as he retreated, finding an opportunity to chat and recover his strength. "I originally thought you were out to rob a bank because you were short of money. Now it seems you just want to beat me up. Why?"

"I'm really short of money, but money is something that can be easily earned with this outfit."

"It's easy for you to make money without this dress. You're smart, talented, and creative. You can succeed anywhere."

Herman laughed, for the first time, genuinely, simply because he wanted to laugh—he knew the little bug in front of him was genuinely trying to dissuade him from becoming a criminal. He unclenched his fist and waved at Spider-Man. "You're not a black man under that uniform, are you?"

"Forehead……"

"You can afford high school, and even if you have student loans, you can pay them off in your lifetime. I'm different. I might never be able to pay them off. More importantly, I might not even have a school to go to." Herman didn't walk towards Peter. Instead, he kept his distance. "Think about it, Stark, Osborn, Baxter, would they hire someone without a high school diploma? And a black person?"

He saw the vault door that was smashed away by Hermann, and then looked at Hermann who was rushing towards him. He directly used spider silk to stick to the terrifying arm armor on his hands. The stretched spider silk connected to the ground, temporarily fixing him, and then he stood up while shooting spider silk.

Jingling pulled twice and found that the spider silk stuck to the ground was unusually strong, so he directly activated the launcher to shake open the spider web.

"This is no trick, Hermann!"

The whistling sound made Hermann subconsciously concentrate. The three-meter-high huge vault door was pulled towards him by the spider silk. Spider-Man, who finally breathed a sigh of relief, fired spider webs one after another to stick the vault door and Hermann who was trapped underneath firmly to the ground. According to the Spider-Man games he had played before, this method should be enough to solve the horror.

"Reflect on this, Herman. With your talent, you don't need to do this kind of thing." Peter said breathlessly, "You don't need to rely on this method to become famous."

"So what's to be done? Huh? When I first fought you, you even thought I bought that gun."

"I just didn't expect..."

"I know." Herman seemed motionless, just looking at Spider-Man: "You are a good man, unlike those stupid policemen who laughed at me and didn't believe me when they heard that I invented weapons. You are the guy who would help pick up a child's bicycle if it fell on the subway."

Spider-Man subconsciously dodged it, and then realized that something was wrong.

The door smashed directly out of the bank building!
"Spider-Man is still fighting Herman Schultz inside. The streets near Midtown Bank have been blocked..."

George Stacy was listening to his subordinates' reports. He was worried about the strange noises coming from inside the bank building. Suddenly, there was a huge roar, and half of the wall was smashed through by a huge vault door that flew out. Spider-Man followed behind, constantly sticking the vault door with spider silk.

"Stop! Stop! Stop! Everyone, get out of the way!"

A group of policemen quickly dodged after shouting, but they could not avoid the result that the vault door directly cut through a police car and then smashed into the wall of the opposite building. Spider-Man could only make it embedded in the second-floor wall of the opposite building.

"What kind of building is this, Sheriff?"

"...Roxxon Energy's office building. I'll have someone check out the situation." Still terrified, Sheriff George looked at the vault door that had flown out. "What's going on inside?"

"I'm not sure, but the thriller should be coming out."

"Thriller? You mean Hermann?"

Spider-Man, who was squatting at the vault door inserted in the wall, narrowed his eyes, looked at the yellow figure walking out of the bank, and took a deep breath.

"Yes."
