"We're on the same floor!" Chen Mo laughed, as it's easy to see each other through windows when you're on the same floor.

“Xingyuan Apartment is over there,” a helpful male volunteer said, pointing to several brand-new, identical high-rise buildings in the distance. “Go straight along this road, turn right when you see the sign for the ‘Life Service Center,’ and walk to the end. Those new buildings with balconies are Xingyuan. The duty room is at the entrance on the first floor of each building.”

After saying goodbye to the volunteers, the two pushed their suitcases and walked towards the dormitory area along the tree-lined path indicated by the volunteers.

The campus is shaded by green trees. Although the trees are still young and not as shady as those in the old campus, the newly laid lawns and carefully designed flower beds add a lot of life.

On the way, I frequently encountered other freshmen dragging their luggage and looking for their dormitories, all taking in their new surroundings.

Before Chen Mo and Su Yuqing could even get close, they could see the sign for [Xingyuan Apartment] and several high-rise buildings in off-white from afar.

"Then... I'll go to Building A first?" Su Yuqing stood at the crossroads of Xingyuan Apartment District, pointing to the building on the left with the sign "Building A," her tone carrying a hint of discomfort with the unfamiliar environment.

"Okay, go ahead." Chen Mo nodded with a smile and pointed to Building B on the right. "I'll contact you after I've put my things away."

"Okay." Su Yuqing took a deep breath, nodded to herself as if to encourage herself, pulled her suitcase, and joined the flow of people heading towards Building A.

Chen Mo watched her figure disappear behind the glass door of Building A before turning around and pushing his suitcase toward Building B.

The atmosphere in the boys' dormitory was noticeably more "rough" than that in the girls' dormitory.

Most of the boys coming in and out of the door were in a hurry, their luggage was piled up crookedly, and their voices were much louder when they greeted each other.

The air was faintly filled with the smell of sweat mixed with the odor of new plastic products.

The duty room is on the right-hand side of the entrance, and behind the glass window sits a dormitory supervisor in her forties with a serious expression.

Chen Mo handed over the key slip: "Hello, Auntie, this is room 504. Please pick up the key and your accommodation card."

The auntie glanced at him and, seeing he was a handsome young man, her previously perfunctory expression immediately turned into a smile. She checked his ID card, and after confirming it was correct, took a bunch of keys and a hard card from the key cabinet behind her and handed them to him. Then, she took his hand, patted the card, and instructed him, "These are the keys and your accommodation card. Keep the card safe; you'll need it for access control, showering, and electricity. The door lock is smart; you can open it with either a card or a key. The dormitory rules are posted on the back of the door; please read them yourself. Water and electricity bills are settled at the end of the month; you pay them yourself through the app."

"Okay, thank you, Auntie." Chen Mo took the keys and card, thanked her immediately, and then walked towards the elevator under the aunt's watchful gaze.

Today was the registration day for new students, so there were a lot of people coming and going. There was a queue at the elevator entrance. Chen Mo looked at the number of people and decided to carry his suitcase up the stairs.

With his physique, carrying a suitcase up five floors wouldn't be a problem at all.

He soon arrived at the fifth floor. The fifth floor was not high for him, but carrying such a large box up the stairs still made him sweat a little.

The hallway was bustling with activity. Many dormitory doors were open, and freshmen and their parents were coming and going. The sounds of carrying luggage, cleaning, and greeting each other filled the air.

We found room 504; the door was ajar.

Chen Mo pushed the door open and went in; there were already two boys inside.

The boy on the lower bunk to the right of the door was sturdy and was struggling to lift a huge hiking backpack onto the bed, his face turning red.

Upon seeing Chen Mo, he immediately grinned, his thick Northeastern accent ringing out, "Hey bro, you've come at the perfect time! Want a hand? This thing's filthy heavy!"

Chen Mo put down the suitcase and easily helped him lift it up. "Thanks, bro! My name is Wang Lan, from Northeast China!" The sturdy boy wiped his sweat and warmly extended his hand, "And you?"

"Chen Mo, from Jiang Province." Chen Mo smiled and shook hands with him.

“We chose our beds first since we arrived. If you want to sleep on the side closest to the door, I can switch with you,” Wang Lan said, pointing to the empty bunk above her.

Actually, all four beds are pretty much the same, the only one that's not so good is the one closest to the bathroom.

If you encounter a poor environment and an unclean roommate, the smell emanating from the bathroom will be borne by all the students sharing the same bed.

Chen Mo looked around the dormitory and thought it was pretty good. Plus, there was one bed left that wasn't next to the bathroom, so he shook his head nonchalantly and said with a smile, "I'll sleep over there."

“From now on, we’re buddies sleeping together!” Seeing that Chen Mo had chosen the bed on the left side of the balcony, the boy in the same row immediately laughed, “My name is Li Zhe, from Jiangsu Province.”

He's clearly from the South, but his Mandarin is surprisingly standard.

"Hello," Chen Mo nodded in response.

The last roommate hasn't arrived yet, so the empty spot is the upper bunk on the right side of the balcony, which is also right next to the bathroom.

After getting to know his two roommates, Chen Mo began packing his luggage.

Wang Lan was a chatterbox. While stuffing his clothes in, he asked, "Brother, I heard that our eight-year program has a really full schedule in the first semester. Human anatomy, histology and embryology, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology, medical immunology and a whole bunch of other things. And there's also the legendary super 'exciting' anatomy? I'm getting a little excited just thinking about it!"

Li Zhe quietly tidied his desk. Hearing this, he pushed up his glasses, a hint of anticipation for knowledge flashing in his eyes: "Hmm, I've seen the first draft of the course schedule. It's indeed quite demanding. I've always heard that university is easy. It seems we've chosen the most demanding major."

Chen Mo smiled upon hearing this.

The so-called easy university life only applies to ordinary universities with light workloads. In fact, the workload at truly prestigious universities is still quite heavy.

At most, the teachers aren't as strict as in high school, but if you don't work hard and fall behind, you'll have a hard time catching up.

Chen Mo got into the police academy through incredibly hard work.

Chen Mo first took out a towel he had prepared earlier, wet it, and tidied up the bed. Then he put his clothes and suitcase into the closet and placed his school supplies and laptop on the desk.

As for bedding, it's too much trouble to carry, so he had already decided to buy it at the school after landing.

After tidying up, Chen Mo took out the two amulets that Su Yuqing and his mother had given him. He carefully hung his mother's amulet on the bed railing, the red tassels standing out in the new environment.

Su Yuqing carried it with her at all times.

After doing all that, he went to the balcony and looked outside.

The view from the fifth floor was indeed excellent, and it even overlooked Building A, which wasn't far away. (End of Chapter)
