Chen Mo and the other two understood what Shen Xinghe said, given the special nature of Shen Xinghe's work.

After dinner, Shen Xinghe returned to his dormitory alone, while Chen Mo, Wang Lan, and Li Zhe went to the gymnasium.

After the game, the three players were soaked to the bone, but they also quickly closed the gap between them.

Wang Lan is strong and charges around recklessly, while Li Zhe only knows how to pass the ball. Chen Mo has the best physical attributes, excelling in both offense and defense, and plays the easiest game.

After a refreshing workout, the three of them went to a public bathhouse for a shower and felt completely refreshed.

The second day of university passed slowly in this fresh and slightly leisurely rhythm.

As night fell, Chen Mo and Su Yuqing agreed to go out for a stroll, since they were always with other people during the day and it lacked the atmosphere of being alone together.

The hustle and bustle of the campus subsided as dusk deepened, and the daytime clamor was replaced by the chirping of insects in late summer and early autumn and the rustling of leaves in the breeze.

The streetlights lit up one by one, casting a warm glow on the campus paths and outlining the shadows of lovers cuddling together.

People were moving about downstairs in Building A of Xingyuan Apartment.

Returning students and those leaving school, some weary and some excited, others who had just arrived today dragged their suitcases, the wheels rolling intermittently across the road, amidst the sounds of laughter and chatter in various accents.

Chen Mo wore a simple white cotton T-shirt and dark trousers, looking neat and tidy. He leaned against a newly planted camphor tree, quietly waiting for Su Yuqing's arrival.

His gaze swept over the hurried crowd, calm and undisturbed; the surrounding sounds were nothing more than background noise to him.

"Have you been waiting long?" A clear, melodious voice pierced through the crowd and reached Chen Mo's ears.

Su Yuqing jogged a few steps to Chen Mo. The hem of her light blue floral dress fluttered gently, and her long hair was draped smoothly over her shoulders. In the dim light, her eyes reflected starlight, making her even more beautiful than during the day.

A few stray hairs clung to her temples, still damp from her bath, while her smooth neck was adorned with water droplets. Her cheeks were flushed with a healthy blush from her brisk walk.

Her eyes were filled with apology, and under the streetlights, she resembled a newly blossoming lily of the valley, pure and elegant.

As soon as she got close, Chen Mo smelled a very familiar scent.

This is the scent of a product called SIX GOD floral water.

"I was supposed to come down right after showering, but Yueyue and the others said there are a lot of mosquitoes here at night, so they told me to apply more mosquito repellent before coming down, which made me a little late," she said softly, glancing apologetically at Chen Mo.

"Silly girl, what's so long about it? Waiting for you isn't long at all. Besides, it's nice for me to enjoy the night view here for a while." Chen Mo smiled slightly, straightened up, and naturally reached out to take her warm little hand, their fingers intertwined tightly.

Unlike the openness of holding hands in crowds during the day, now that dusk has fallen, the world seems to be covered by a soft-focus filter, and no one can see them clearly. The feelings of the two holding hands are also different.

At this moment, the touch of their palms touching and the delicate texture of their skin became exceptionally clear and sensitive, carrying a secret thrill that belonged only to the two of them.

The two tacitly avoided the brightly lit main road and instead headed towards a quiet path leading to the artificial lake on campus.

This road offers a completely different view during the day.

The building outlines, clearly visible during the day, disappeared into the night. Only the lights along the western shore of the lake in the distance, like scattered stars, were reflected on the open lake surface, rippling gently with the waves.

The tall camphor trees cast long shadows along the roadside, separating them from the outside world and creating a small world that belonged only to the two of them.

The night breeze, carrying a mixture of moisture and the fragrance of plants, gently caressed my face, dispelling the lingering heat of the day and bringing a refreshing coolness.

They walked slowly, their steps in sync, the only sounds being their footsteps and their breaths so close together. "How are you feeling today?" Su Yuqing's voice was so soft, as if she didn't want to disturb the tranquility of the night.

"Not bad. Have you decided which club to join?" Chen Mo asked with a smile as he turned to look at her.

“It’s the Guofeng Society,” Su Yuqing said with a smile. “The atmosphere in this society feels quite quiet, and I really like it.”

"It really suits you."

"And you?" Su Yuqing turned to look at Chen Mo.

"I haven't decided yet. That mystery club is quite interesting, I might consider joining it," Chen Mo replied with a smile.

As they spoke, the two walked onto the boardwalk by the artificial lake on campus.

There are even fewer people here, away from the teaching building area.

A cool breeze wafted across the open lake, and the lights of the campus spread out on the opposite shore, shining brightly.

They sat down on a wooden bench, facing the shimmering lake.

Chen Mo didn't let go of her hand; instead, he held it even tighter, his fingertips gently stroking the back of her hand. He didn't say a word, but their hearts gradually drew closer.

Su Yuqing gently rested her head on his shoulder. The refreshing scent of his shower gel mixed with his clean, sun-kissed aura made her feel incredibly at ease.

The surroundings were so quiet that it was as if you could hear each other's heartbeats, one after another, gradually synchronizing in the silent night.

There were other couples nearby, and even some same-sex couples.

However, they don't disturb each other. Even when passing by, they don't pay much attention, as they are all immersed in their own happy world as a couple, enjoying the rare and pleasant time together.

"Would you like to ride this?" Chen Mo raised his hand and pointed to the center of the lake in the distance, where a small boat with flashing lights was slowly sailing by.

“Okay.” Su Yuqing’s gaze followed the light, imagining herself and Chen Mo drifting on the lake in a boat. The solitude of being alone with someone away from the crowd made her heart flutter even more. She replied with a soft, dreamlike laugh.

She suddenly felt that all of this was so beautiful that it was almost unreal. She had come from a small seaside town to this unfamiliar Hunan region, but she was always surrounded by the most familiar and warmest people.

She quietly moved her body closer to Chen Mo.

As night deepened, the moonlight spilled onto the lake like quicksilver.

Chen Mo took out his phone, put it on silent mode, and then gently turned to the side.

"Don't move." His voice was soft, with a hint of a smile.

Before Su Yuqing could turn her head, she heard a barely audible click of a camera shutter.

The screen's light illuminated Chen Mo's handsome profile and the undisguised tenderness and admiration in his eyes.

"Huh? You didn't even tell me you were taking pictures! I wasn't prepared at all. Let me see!" Su Yuqing blushed as Chen Mo suddenly snapped a photo of her, playfully asking if Chen Mo had taken an unflattering picture of her.

"A natural, focused beauty can't be faked, look..." Chen Mo smiled slightly and solemnly handed her his phone. (End of Chapter)
