Chapter 57 Nian Nian is not doing well

Chapter 57 Nian Nian is not doing well

She leaned against the man without reservation, her head resting gently on his shoulder.

After about ten seconds, she realized that her foot was still her foot and that she felt less uncomfortable overall.

"Thank you, Dr. Chi."

The woman's voice was soft and sweet, with a slight nasal tone from crying.

As soon as he finished speaking, Chi Yige bent down and picked her up in a princess carry.

"What are you going to do?" she exclaimed.

"I'll take you to your place."

The man responded calmly.

At this moment, the driver, Xiao Li, had already quickly opened the rear door.

Chi Yige carefully settled her into the seat, and Xiao Li deftly put Wen Jinnian's two suitcases into the trunk.

Immediately afterwards, Chi Yige also bent down and sat inside the car.

When Jiang Shu hurriedly chased after the car, he only saw the taillights of the car speeding away, and in the blink of an eye, it had already driven out of Kowloon Tong.

Wen Jinian curled up in the corner of the back seat, her back pressed against the cold car window.

The night breeze blew in, lifting her long hair.

Chi Yige caught a glimpse of her taut shoulder line out of the corner of his eye.

This posture of folding oneself into the shadows is clearly a form of resistance.

We arrived at Villa No. 3 in the hillside about 20 minutes later.

Wen Jinian was absent-minded and didn't even realize the car had come to a complete stop. When she got out of the car, she didn't even tell Chi Yige the specific address and just let him pull the luggage forward.

When Chi Yige entered the apartment password, Wen Jinnian seemed oblivious until they entered the room, at which point she mechanically asked, "Dr. Chi, would you like something to drink?"

Chi Yige chuckled: "Your rented room looks bare, and you bring a strange man in late at night. Don't you think it's dangerous?"

These words finally brought Wen Jinnian back to her senses. She looked up sharply, her eyes wary.

"Aren't we only a few centimeters apart?"

Wen Jinnian snatched the suitcase, her tone laced with provocation.

Chi Yige was surprised; she hadn't expected that she could turn the tables at this moment.

"Then let's try it next time we have a chance?" he chuckled.

Wen Jinnian suddenly kicked out, but Chi Yige had anticipated it and nimbly stepped back to dodge.

He leaned against the doorframe and chuckled softly: "Get some rest."

Looking at the prickly man in front of him, a hint of interest flashed in his eyes.

This is the real her, not just a docile and obedient facade.

Chi Yige didn't go back inside, but only gave a word of advice at the door.

Wen Jinian secretly breathed a sigh of relief, her tense shoulders finally relaxing.

Wen Jinian hadn't expected to move in so hastily. The villa area was almost unfurnished, and the refrigerator contained only a bottle of water left behind when she and Fu Yiyi visited last time.

She unscrewed the lid, took a sip, dragged her suitcase, and took the elevator to the third floor.

Fu Yiyi had specifically instructed her to stay in the master bedroom, and Wen Jinnian did not refuse. However, there was not even a quilt in the room, so she had no choice but to pull over a thin blanket and curl up on the sofa to make do for the night.

Wen Jinian had just finished showering in her pajamas when the villa doorbell rang.

She went to the balcony and looked down, and was surprised to find that Chi Yige's car was still parked in the same spot, and a van had appeared next to it at some point, with several servants carrying things out of the trunk.

As her gaze swept over the car behind her, she made eye contact with the person inside and could only hurriedly go downstairs.

Upon opening the door, Xiao Li stood respectfully to the side: "Miss Wen, my young master had someone bring over some usable items from the old house on Taiping Mountain."

Before Wen Jinian could respond, the servants nodded and went straight into the house.

She froze in place, stepping aside to let people in, watching as boxes of goods filed in one after another.

The refrigerator was crammed with drinks and milk, the pantry was overflowing with snacks, even the bedding and duvet covers were brand new and complete, and even the fruit and late-night snacks were prepared perfectly. It wasn't just "taking some things," it was as if they were moving the whole house over.

Wen Jinnian stood in front of the Maybach window, unsure of what to say.

Inside the car, Chi Yige was focused on texting while she waited quietly. When he looked up, he saw Wen Jin, who had just finished showering, with a towel wrapped around her head and water dripping from her hair. The floral scent of her shower gel wafted gently on the evening breeze amidst the steam.

He casually turned off his phone screen, pushed open the door, and got out of the car.

Before Wen Jinian could react, he had already reached out and pulled the towel off her head, his tone filled with unquestionable concern: "Girls shouldn't wash their hair too often at night."

As he spoke, he gently tucked her wet, long hair into the towel, his movements both gentle and firm, carefully rubbing it again and again.

Xiao Li and the servants stared in disbelief at the scene.

That young master, who always had a cold face, was now personally drying the girl's hair?
Can they see this?

Wen Jinnian froze on the spot, letting Chi Yige gently wipe her hair. She unconsciously leaned forward slightly, her voice trembling: "I didn't expect Dr. Chi to be so good at wiping hair."

Chi Yige chuckled softly, his warm breath brushing against her ear: "I've only wiped Wen's face this once."

She was taken aback, not expecting him to see through her probing words and even explain that this was the first time he had ever dried a girl's hair.

A tingling, warm feeling suddenly welled up in my chest.

"Then next time Dr. Chi washes his hair, I'll dry it back on for you!"

Wen Jinnian looked up, her tone slightly teasing.

Chi Yige paused, then chuckled softly, his fingertips unconsciously tracing the edge of the towel: "So Miss Wen is settling a 'favor' with me?"

Wen Jinnian: "..."

Could she say that she really just wanted to see what it would look like if the high and mighty Prince Chi lowered his head to have his hair wiped?

Wen Jinian got her period early the next day and stayed listlessly in the villa.

Upon learning the news, Fu Yiyi volunteered to come and accompany her.

After all, not having to stay on Victoria Peak and be controlled by her father was exactly what she wanted.

She moved into the villa's side bedroom with her large and small bags and stayed there for more than half a month.

During this period, the two were busy preparing for the promotion of the art training room.

They hired people to distribute flyers door-to-door in various upscale residential areas and villa districts.

Back at the villa, the two pampered young ladies, who had never lifted a finger in the kitchen, were stumped by the refrigerator full of fresh ingredients.

Fu Yiyi frowned as she stared at the ingredients: "Niannian, how did you survive when you went abroad?"

Wen Jinnian scrolled through the food delivery app without looking up: "Self-heating meals, instant noodles, takeout—we're doing just fine, aren't we?"

Fu Yiyi looked distressed and said, "My poor Niannian."

He immediately sent a message to Chi Yige, who was abroad negotiating a collaboration.

eight pm.

Inside a private room of a bar abroad.

A crystal chandelier cast an amber glow onto the leather sofa, while champagne beads gently dripped from the ice bucket on the ebony table.

Surrounded by soundproof velvet walls, several partners sat around a table playing cards. Chi Yige threw down a deck of cards, and suddenly the phone on the table rang with a notification sound.

He casually swiped the screen, frowned slightly, muttered something in English, and then handed the cards to Duan Jiayan beside him.

He picked up his phone, walked to the window, and pushed it open a crack.

The night wind blew in, and he stared at the four short words on the screen: "Nian Nian is not doing well."

His brows furrowed instantly, and he quickly replied with a question mark.

Soon, in less than two minutes, a screen full of text was sent over.

Chi Yige took a cigarette from the cigarette case and lit it with a lighter with a "click".

The bluish-gray smoke, tinged with sparks, flickered between his fingers. As he slowly exhaled the first puff of smoke, a heavy sigh escaped his throat.

An overwhelming sorrow welled up in his eyes, as if something had gripped his heart tightly, making even his breathing difficult.

He swiped his finger across the phone screen, exited the WeChat interface, and pressed the call button.
