Chapter 8: The body smelled of a corpse.
Seeing that the other beastmen had not given any answers, Sang Tian's patience ran out.

"I'll give you some more time to think about it. I'll go and return the money now."

Having completed her plan ahead of schedule, she excitedly skipped away, ready to confront the witch doctor.

Last time, half of the medicine worth 40,000 spirit crystals was not given to the original owner. At least half of the money should be refunded, which is a full 20,000!

After Sang Tian left, the atmosphere in the kitchen not only did not improve, but became even more suffocating than before.

Bi Jingyan snorted coldly, mimicking Sang Tian's tone from earlier, and said in a sarcastic tone, "Thank you, Qingzhi."

Upon hearing this voice, the four of them got goosebumps all over, and their eyes flashed with murderous intent as they looked at Bi Jingyan.

"Bai Mingchen said that because he heard what she was thinking. He didn't seem to be lying to us."

Qingzhi's expression remained unchanged, his heart calm and undisturbed by anyone's words.

Li Su looked at Bai Mingchen, "When did you hear her thoughts?"

Qingzhi and Li Su were particularly concerned about Bai Mingchen's ability to use his powers on Sang Tian.

"Yesterday when you brought her back and said you wanted to live peacefully with us."

Bai Mingchen temporarily believed what Sang Tian said; if she had said that a natural disaster would strike in two years, he would have been more skeptical.

But judging from her inner thoughts, he could sense that this woman also wanted to break away from them.

"It's only been a year. If she dares to play tricks, we can cut her tendons and put her under house arrest. We can still get by."

Wu Lanyuan has prepared for the worst.
Seeing that the four were about to agree to Sang Tian's plan, Bi Jingyan became anxious.

"How could this woman make four brainless beasts willingly serve her like slaves with just three sentences?" He now suspects that Sang Tian may have put drugs in her food last night.

Bai Mingchen frowned, his eyes filled with disdain, and got up to leave. "Stop watching those brain-dead videos. If you keep watching them, there'll be no room for your IQ to drop any further."

"Just say you can't keep up with the trends of young people."

Li Su stood up and earnestly told Bi Jingyan, "He's been unusually sensitive about age these past few days. Take care."

Bai Mingchen: "..."

Bai Mingchen called out to stop Li Su when he saw her about to go upstairs.

"I've replaced your bed with your own." The implication was that you could go back to your room and sleep there.

Li Su stopped in her tracks. "I chose the second room upstairs again. I'll leave the one for Angry Birds."

Wu Lanyuan and Qing Zhi stood up skillfully and took a half step back.

Suddenly, the Angry Bird's body began to glow red, its temperature rose, and the paper cup on the table turned to ashes.

Qingzhi smiled faintly, urging Bi Jingyan, "Go."

Go lock onto the pig's head.

Wu Lanyuan was unfazed and calmly returned to his room, showing no interest in the struggle between the two.

Qingzhi walked away instead.

The trading market is divided into two areas: one is the retail area, where vendors sell their herbs or rare spirit stones.

The other area has been inspected by the satellite, and all the items there are genuine, though the prices are slightly higher.

The trading market is huge, where you can see all kinds of orcs, as well as female masters bringing their beast husbands to shop. There are all kinds of clothing, including primitive clothing, modern clothing, and armor.

Relying on the original owner's memories, Sang Tian walked around the trading market for a long time before finally finding the shop run by the witch doctor.

The shop door was covered with strangely shaped dreamcatchers and bells, and strange purple couplets were pasted on both sides of the door, giving one a chill down their spine.

The decorating style looks unreliable.

Sang Tian pushed open the door and entered, the bell on the door ringing. As soon as she entered, she smelled a strong sandalwood scent in the air, so strong it was almost pungent. She pinched her nose and took two steps back.

Strange, she didn't go into a public restroom, so why is the sandalwood scent so strong?

"Miss Sang, how effective was the medicine I sold you last time? Did it meet your expectations?"

A woman wearing a white felt hat and with a head of fluffy brown curly hair that reached her waist walked out. Her single-eyelid eyes gleamed when she saw Sang Tian.

"I recently received a batch of new medicinal herbs. They're incredibly effective. If you'd like to try them, I'll give you a drastically discounted price."

The witch doctor was only about 1.5 meters tall, with thick, frizzy curly hair, and walked like a walking mushroom.

"I'm not here to buy medicine today."

The witch doctor has heterochromia, with a blue pupil in his left eye and a black pupil in his right eye, and he wears square-framed glasses.

"Not here to buy medicine?" The witch doctor's voice was high-pitched, with a rising tone at the end. "So you're here to borrow money?"

"I'm here to return the money." Sang Tian wished she could grow another hand to cover her ears.

"Give me back the money?!" The witch doctor's voice suddenly rose.

Sang Tian frowned, not understanding why the witch doctor was reacting so strongly. Wasn't returning the money a good thing?

Upon hearing that she had come to repay the debt, the witch doctor's expression changed faster than turning the pages of a book; she summoned her cloud-based account.

"Let me calculate, you owe me a total of 160,000 spirit crystals. Are you planning to pay in installments or in one lump sum?" The witch doctor pushed up his glasses and looked at Sang Tian smugly.

Sang Tian was dumbfounded. In the original owner's memories, she clearly only owed 80,000 spirit crystals. How could it have doubled now?

Only then did they realize that the original owner had been lent money at exorbitant interest rates.

“You’re lending money illegally, which violates the rules of the mainland. Besides, you haven’t given me half of the medicine yet, which should only be 60,000 spirit crystals.”

Sang Tian's expression turned serious.

"It's all written here in black and white, the terms are clear, and your signature is on it. Do you still want to renege on your debt?"

The witch doctor shrugged, and a piece of paper floated in the air.

Sang Tian then noticed that there were many unfair terms on it, which were marked with an invisible liquid. Only now that they were revealed could it be seen that they were loan shark terms.

The witch doctor looked like he knew she wouldn't dare report it to Xingduan.

Judging from their demeanor, the other party was probably a seasoned veteran, clearly disregarding the rules of the Beast World Continent.

“If you don’t comply, I will report you to Xingduan and make you a completely untrustworthy female. From now on, you will not be able to go anywhere except your home.”

The witch doctor no longer spoke in a high-pitched voice; his voice was much rougher and more pleasant to the ear than before.

Sang Tian stared intently at the IOU, her mind racing.

Sixteen thousand, that's doubled! If those beastmen knew, it would definitely worsen the situation for her. How could she then expect them to willingly serve her and help her improve her spiritual power?
Sang Tian bit down hard on the tender flesh inside her lower lip, unwilling to give in...

"Stealing and refining beastmen is already a capital offense. Even the Netherworld Prison wouldn't accept a vile woman like you. Add to that your illegal lending and the illicit sale of enhancement agents, do you think Xingduan would even leave you with a whole corpse if he found out?"

Qing Zhi appeared at the door, his dark green pupils revealing a sharp edge. His tone was neither too loud nor too soft, and his cold face exuded a chilling and oppressive aura.

"An S-rank orc smells so good..."

The witch doctor's eyes were filled with fascination, like a hungry wolf seeing meat, and he subconsciously swallowed.

Sang Tian was startled by her appearance and took several steps back.

Qingzhi stepped forward and shielded Sang Tian behind him. "Didn't you smell the stench of a corpse on her?"
