Chapter 26: Dragon Sword

In an era where everyone practices martial arts, martial arts schools and clubs are everywhere.

Gao Wu had never heard of the Iron Dragon Martial Arts School, but he could tell that Tie Ying was a highly skilled martial artist with strong and muscular physique.

Since the other party is so enthusiastic, he'll oblige and have a meal together to see what good things are in store. After all, he enjoys helping others, not just trying to get a free meal.

Tie Ying was delighted to see Gao Wu nod in agreement. She liked Gao Wu's generous and outgoing personality, not to mention that he had thick eyebrows, big eyes, strong and defined features, and a tall and slender figure; he was really handsome.

After leaving the Tianwu Association, Tie Ying found a rather upscale restaurant nearby. She was a frequent visitor to the Tianwu Association and was quite familiar with the surrounding area.

After finding a seat by the window, Tie Ying familiarly called out to the waiter to take their order. She politely handed the menu to Gao Wu and asked him to order.

Gao Wu waved his hand in refusal. He could skip the meal, but ordering more food would be a bit unfair.

"Braised black horn lamb chops with scallions, steamed blue-eyed flying fish, blanched white-scaled shrimp, and two servings of white crown chicken soup..."

Tie Ying ordered four dishes and a soup, all high-end dishes made with exotic beast ingredients. The price should be two or three thousand. Gao Wu said a little embarrassedly, "Sister Ying, this is too expensive."

"Hey, it's such a wonderful coincidence to meet you today, young man. It's something to celebrate. And the fact that we passed the advanced martial artist assessment together makes it even more worth celebrating."

Tie Ying waved her hand generously, and Gao Wu smiled and said, "Sister Ying's hospitality is truly overwhelming."

Gao Wu was just being polite; he ate at Song Mingyue's place every night and had been eating very well lately. Compared to that, the dishes Tie Ying ordered were really nothing special.

He still has tens of thousands of yuan in his hand. If they really can't reach an agreement, he'll just have to pay his own share.

"It's just a little money, nothing at all." Tie Ying grinned, her smile hearty and enthusiastic.

She had a round face, narrow eyes, and a large mouth; her appearance could be described as ugly. She was also quite stout, yet she wore a bright red sweater, which looked both tacky and gaudy. Her voice was also loud and deep, attracting a lot of attention.

Many guests looked at Tie Ying, and then at the dashing Gao Wu, and a knowing look appeared on their faces. Some even muttered, "This young man already knows how good rich women are!"

During this period, Gao Wu's mental strength increased significantly, and his senses became much sharper. He could already hear whispers from more than ten meters away.

He couldn't be bothered to argue, and could only say that different people see things differently, that's all.

"Sister Ying, what good thing are you talking about?" Gao Wu got down to business.

"You don't have a master yet, and you haven't joined a martial arts school, right?" Tie Ying asked.

Gao Wu replied, "I learned martial arts from my own grandfather and have never joined a martial arts school."

"That's good."

Tie Ying was overjoyed. She said, "My brother is Tie Dalong, the head of a martial arts school. As long as you become my brother's disciple, we can provide you with all the resources for martial arts training."

She paused for a moment, then said proudly, "My brother is a warrior, and his family's Dragon Sword and Palm techniques are considered unparalleled!"

"Sister Ying, if I may be frank, what kind of treatment can I expect?"

Gao Wu had no interest in becoming a disciple. The other party only wanted him as a disciple because they valued his status as an 18-year-old advanced martial artist, which they wanted to use to enhance the reputation of their martial arts school.

What do you mean by "sword and palm mastery"? Just listen to it and forget about it.

This is not ancient society, where a few secret techniques passed down from father to son can form a school of thought.

In modern society, the martial arts system has developed for a century, and advanced martial arts knowledge is held by the major organizations of the alliance.

How can an individual's talent and ability compare to a modern, powerful scientific martial arts system?

Of course, it's quite impressive that Tie Dalong became a samurai; he must have his own set of skills.

Tie Ying made all the promises: "Brother, as long as you come, everything is negotiable..."

Upon hearing this, Gao Wu's interest waned considerably. Matters of interest must be clearly stated, ideally down to the unit of several dollars.

It sounds very nice, but without any specific details, it's just empty promises.

But he was actually complimenting her: "Sister Ying is so generous!"

Regardless of what they were thinking, Gao Wu and Tie Ying chatted quite lively and enjoyed their meal.

After dinner, Gao Wu added Tie Ying on WeChat and rode his bicycle back to the old house.

On the way, he bought some fruit. The old man was getting on in years and his health wasn't good. The heating in winter made the room particularly dry, so he needed to eat more fruit.

He also needed to consult the old man about the Iron Dragon Martial Arts School.

"I know about the Iron Dragon Martial Arts School. Iron Dragon's father was my comrade-in-arms. He was a very powerful high-level martial artist who died in the Aurora Icefield." Old Master Shang spoke of the past with deep emotion. The Aurora Icefield was extremely cold, and what was more terrifying than the harsh weather was the many powerful beasts that lived there.

Countless warriors die every year to guard the entrance to this secret realm of the Aurora Icefield.

He sighed and said, "Once the battle is over and the battlefield is cleaned up, you'll see patches of blood smeared on the ice, a continuous stretch of spots..."

Gao Wu remained silent. The television always touted the terror of the alien beasts and the bravery of the Alliance's Iron Army. But those impassioned narrations and majestic images were far less impactful than a few casual words from the old man.

"When you get old, you always like to reminisce about the past and you become sentimental."

The old man sighed softly and shook his head. He then said, "I've met Tie Dalong twice. He's a bit slick, but not a bad person. He's from the same hometown and I know him well. If you're willing, you can cooperate with him."

He then added, "On the contrary, your coach Huang Hai doesn't seem like a good person."

"By the way, several people have gone missing in the old town recently. Either some strange beasts have escaped, or it's the work of the Demon Cult. You must be careful. Don't wander around at night..."

Gao Wu felt a chill run down his spine. Could this be related to the strange spirits of White Scale Lake?
On second thought, it seemed impossible. Only Song Mingyue could attract supernatural spirits; no one else could. Besides, if supernatural spirits were to cause trouble, something would inevitably happen at the school first.

It is clear that this matter has nothing to do with the strange spirits of Bailin Lake.

He nodded vigorously: "I know."

The old man said, "My main skill is White Tiger Fist, so I can't teach much about the Nine Forms of the Dragon. Old Tie's Swimming Dragon Sword also has its unique aspects, and its foundation is the Nine Forms of the Dragon. It would be good if you could learn it."

Gao Wu nodded and was about to speak when his phone rang. He took it out and saw that it was a message from Tie Ying, along with a location, inviting him to Tielong Martial Arts School for a detailed discussion.

“I’ll go with you. Tie Dalong is slippery; I won’t let you suffer.” The old man glanced at the message on his phone and couldn’t help but smile.

The fact that the other party is in such a hurry shows that they really value Gao Wu.

Tielong Martial Arts School is located in the new eastern part of the city. It rents a commercial building as its storefront, and there are two stone dragons with two spirals placed at the entrance, which looks very impressive.

Through the glass curtain wall, you can vaguely see many people wearing martial arts uniforms practicing on the first floor.

This is on the edge of the new city's commercial district, and even so, a martial arts school renting such a large space must have incurred considerable rent. Judging by the size of the school, Tielong Martial Arts School is quite wealthy.

Gao Wu led the old man into the martial arts school, where a pretty receptionist greeted them. Gao Wu gave her name, and the receptionist led him and the old man to an elevator on the side, which took them directly to the tea room on the fourth floor.

The receptionist knocked and went in first, and Tie Ying quickly opened the door to greet her. She was initially smiling broadly, but when she saw Old Master Shang, she was taken aback and asked, "This is?"

“My grandfather,” Gao Wu introduced.

Tie Ying looked Old Master Shang up and down, and asked with some doubt, "Old Master, you look familiar. Have we met before?"

"You must be Tie Ying. I met you more than thirty years ago. You were still young then, so you probably don't remember me. My name is Shang Hongyi, and I have some connection with your father," the old man said slowly.

"Ah, Uncle Shang..." Tie Ying knew Shang Hongyi, of course. She was startled and hurriedly turned around to open the door and called out, "Big brother, Uncle Shang is here, come out quickly!"

Tie Dalong, who was sitting in the main seat inside waiting, didn't understand. "Who is Shang Shu?" But when he saw his sister's appearance, he knew that an important person had arrived.

Tie Dalong strode out and saw Shang Hongyi, a tall and thin man wearing a dark blue overcoat.

The other person's face was full of wrinkles, and his old eyes were somewhat cloudy, but there was still a strong sense of determination between his brows, and his back was straight, giving him a rather imposing presence.

He thought the other person looked familiar, but couldn't quite place where he had seen him before.

Tie Ying hurriedly came over to introduce, "Brother, this is Uncle Shang, a good friend of our father in the army."

"Oh, Uncle Shang!"

Tie Dalong suddenly remembered that Shang Hongyi had stayed in Dongjiang after being seriously injured and retiring. Although he rarely appeared in public, he was well-known in the Dongjiang martial arts circle.

Shang Hongyi was no longer able to fight, but he had many old comrades-in-arms and were meritorious members of the alliance, so no one dared to neglect him. His gaze then shifted to Gao Wu beside him.

This young man is even more handsome and dashing than he appears in the short video. He's just like the sun at nine in the morning, full of vitality and radiant with light.

It's not that Gao Wu is truly brilliant, but rather that he possesses a strong life force, or rather, a life magnetic field, brimming with positive and burgeoning power.

Tie Dalong took a liking to Gao Wu at first glance; this kid looked like he had a lot of potential!

He grinned widely and formally clasped his hands in a fist and palm salute to Shang Hongyi: "Uncle Shang, it's been a long time! Please come in..."
