Reborn Cat Sheriff
Chapter 107 The Spider
Chapter 107 The Spider (First Update)
The area outside the KTV is getting more and more lively.
Amidst the flashing sirens, one by one, pretty girls were brought out, standing stiffly in a row in the corner, heads bowed, too afraid to move.
It must be said that these young women were all quite attractive. They were scantily clad, had great figures, and came in all shapes and sizes, providing a feast for the eyes of the onlookers, who kept murmuring about them.
The gossip and pointing fingers from outsiders made the KTV owner, who rushed over upon hearing the news, both anxious and irritable. However, he was powerless to do anything about Liu Shengyou's unreasonable behavior.
He desperately wanted to plead with Liu Shengyou to keep things quiet and expedite the process, repeatedly emphasizing that his shop would never harbor any wrongdoing, and assuring everyone that he would absolutely abide by national laws and not cause any trouble for the police. He only asked that the police come to the lobby to enforce the law, etc.
Liu Shengyou completely ignored him.
Liu Shengyou pulled the idle Lin Ge over and asked him to help check the consumers leaving in order, as if he wanted to make a big fuss about it.
If it can make all the men in the area tremble with fear and never dare to visit prostitutes again, what's a little sacrifice of a KTV?
With that thought in mind, Liu Shengyou put his phone on silent again, refusing to accept any inquiries or attempts to build relationships.
And Lin Ge did not disappoint Liu Shengyou's request. He was like a precise machine, picking out every man who exuded the scent of perfume and photinia from the departing crowd without missing a single one.
You may have a reason, or you may not have really done anything wrong!
But if the cat identifies you, you must obediently keep your ID card and go to the police station to explain the situation!
Liu Shengyou is just that unreasonable.
He summoned everyone at Baimiao Police Station to work overtime, keeping them on their toes. Even Li Zhen was forced to come to the scene to oversee things and intimidate all the scoundrels.
Then, everything went very smoothly.
Qian Wei, who had arrived sometime earlier, also brought his catch. A young thief, bruised and battered, who looked to be under eighteen, was dragged over by Qian Wei. His eyes were filled with tears, and he looked utterly aggrieved.
Liu Shengyou didn't care what was going on with these people and took them all to the police station.
"Don't run!"
Just as they were considering calling it a day, an angry shout came from the third floor.
Liu Shengyou looked up and was shocked to see a shirtless man leaning out of a third-floor window!
Police were chasing him, but they couldn't catch him and he managed to climb over.
It was very dark, and Liu Shengyou couldn't see the man's exact appearance clearly. But just seeing him clinging to the outer wall of the KTV like Spider-Man, and then moving along the decorative strip of the outer wall, which was no more than four fingers wide, towards the next room, made Liu Shengyou's eyebrows twitch in surprise.
Who exactly is this guy?
What are they hiding this time? That they'd risk their lives like this!
Puzzled, Liu Shengyou quickly sent men to surround the building next door.
That was a long strip of vacant shops, several floors high and hundreds of meters long from left to right, all closed. Looking up from the outside, the shops' decor was old and damaged, several broken windows revealed dark spaces inside, and all the roller shutters on the first floor were tightly shut.
Amidst the gasps of onlookers downstairs, the man scrambled forty or fifty meters like a monkey, reached a broken window, ducked in, bent his neck, and slid inside.
Liu Shengyou's expression hardened.
Abandoned commercial buildings are not like abandoned buildings; the complexity inside is unimaginable. Add to that the individual decorations from the shops and the various items left behind after they left, and catching someone in that environment becomes extremely difficult!
What's worse, you have no idea how many entrances and exits there are in this row of shops!
"Open the door right now!"
Liu Shengyou glared angrily at the person in charge of the commercial street who was standing next to him.
"I...I don't have the key!"
The person in charge looked grim, his lips trembling as he said, "Because the house hasn't been rented out anymore, and they're worried about thieves or homeless people, the boss took all the keys! How about... how about we just break down the door? I'll cover the losses, okay?"
"Damn it!"
Liu Shengyou cursed angrily and quickly ordered his men to find a way to break open the roller shutter door.
Even the windows on the first floor were locked with roller shutters; for nearly a hundred meters, it was all sealed off. Two policemen were kicking down a door, while another was using tools to pry open a different door. But creating an exit in the short term would be extremely difficult.
"Isn't there a back door?"
Liu Shengyou couldn't wait any longer and looked at the person in charge again. He needed to know whether the suspect was trapped inside like a turtle in a jar, or whether there was another way for him to escape undetected.
"The back door... I don't have the key either."
The person in charge continues to slack off.
Liu Shengyou could only stomp his foot in frustration. Seeing the commotion among the onlookers growing louder and louder, even the men and women who were being held captive but hadn't yet been taken to the police station were starting to get restless, he knew that something absolutely could not go wrong at this moment.
If the police station loses face at this moment, all the hard work and achievements before will be in vain.
A young policeman climbed out of the window on the third floor of the KTV where the man had escaped and carefully walked along the decorative strips toward the other side.
But halfway there, he couldn't go any further.
At this moment, only a small corner of the roller shutter door was pried up, and even a normal person couldn't crawl through it, even on their stomach. It might only take a minute or two to open the door, but Liu Shengyou couldn't wait any longer. He turned to look at Lin Ge.
"Mimi!"
"I knew it!"
Lin Ge pursed his lips, choosing not to refuse.
He stretched and stood up, then squeezed back into the coconut-sized, dirty roller shutter door.
The interior space was dark and very dusty.
The sliver of light filtering through the roller shutter door wasn't enough for Lin Ge to see his surroundings clearly. He had no idea where the corridor was, where the stairs were, which way was a dead end, or where it led to the next room.
Observing the decor of the hall, Lin Ge guessed that this must have once been a place that sold steaks or Western food.
The sofas, tables, and chairs, which should have been neatly arranged and looked quite upscale, were now piled up haphazardly. There was a lot of debris on the floor, along with some shards of glass. Some of the chandeliers were damaged, and the bar counter showed signs of fire damage. The glass decorative panels used to separate the dining areas were also covered in cobwebs and looked extremely fragile.
In addition, there was a thick layer of murky dust floating in the air, and it was unclear how long the doors had been closed for ventilation.
Lin Ge forced himself not to sneeze and instead listened intently to the sounds coming from upstairs.
Amidst the commotion outside and the sound of the door being torn down, the noise coming from upstairs was barely audible. However, Lin Ge could still tell that the person was moving further away.
He didn't seem very familiar with this area, running back and forth to some places several times.
"Who exactly is this person? What kind of criminal activity are they involved in that they would risk so much to escape?"
Lin Ge, filled with curiosity, dodged the obstacles and climbed up the stairs on the side of the restaurant leading to the second floor.
Once you go up, it's a spacious area. You can see much better through a few broken windows, and the air is much better than on the first floor.
However... the Western restaurant only has two floors, and there is no staircase leading directly to the third floor.
So, where is the emergency exit?
Although the suspect's voice seemed to be fading into the distance, Lin Ge wasn't particularly anxious. With his sense of smell, unless the person could instantly mask their scent, it was only a matter of time before he caught them.
The second floor was entirely comprised of private rooms, each with an identical door. Lin Ge finally found the emergency exit, but his face darkened as he stared at the large, rusty padlock on it.
Are you out of your mind?
Even the emergency exits are locked?
Lin Ge was somewhat agitated.
Although he could understand the despair and resignation of the building's owner, he never expected to be stopped by such a physical means.
There was no time to check the first floor. Lin Ge also heard the police finally burst in. Without thinking about meeting up with them, Lin Ge crawled out through the large, broken window and onto the brightly lit exterior wall, then looked up at the third floor.
"Look! A cat!"
"Still wearing a police uniform!"
The crowd below spotted Lin Ge and exclaimed in surprise, quickly taking photos.
Lingo had no time to pay attention to them. Instead, he followed the example of the fleeing man and quickly rushed along the narrow ledge outside the window towards another broken window in the distance.
Instead of going through the gap to find his way, he leaped onto the glass exterior of the adjacent sightseeing elevator, took two quick steps, turned around sharply, and jumped upwards with all his might. He quickly grabbed the windowsill with his two front paws and successfully reached the third floor.
The entire set of movements was fluid and graceful.
If you're so capable, then lock all the doors and windows!
Lin Ge thought angrily.
