Chapter 184 On-site Question Setting

Chapter 184 On-site Question Setting
I noticed that Principal Ding kept glancing at me while talking to Liu Zhenhua. No. 3 Middle School is a prestigious school, and to become the principal, one must be involved in both education and politics. The latter identity probably requires more attention, and I guessed that he needed me to express my opinion to avoid trouble if this matter escalated.

"Go ahead and take the test, I have no objection," I said.

Principal Ding stood up again, walked to the filing cabinet behind the chair, paused, and took out a complete set of past exam papers for the second year of junior high school. He tore off a physics paper and handed it to Liu Zhenhua, asking him, "Do you need Zhang Jingxuan to do this with you?"

"It doesn't matter." Liu Zhenhua spread the exam questions on the table, moved a stool to sit opposite Principal Ding, and then leaned over to take a pen from his pen holder.

Principal Ding pulled out another set of questions and said to Zhang Jingxuan, "Then you two can work together. Write the answers on paper and give them to me when you're done."

Wang Aili whispered to me, "Principal Ding used to teach physics."

Zhang Jingxuan and Liu Zhenhua sat one seat apart, and each of them took out a pen and started working on the problems.

"Sigh—" Liu Zhenhua sighed as he scribbled on the paper.

Zhang Jingxuan glanced at him and said gloatingly, "What, is your routine more difficult? Want us to switch?"

There was a lot of noise outside the door. Principal Ding waved his hand at Director Li and said, "Let everyone come in. Our exams are fair, just, and transparent. What's there to hide?"

As soon as the door opened, the teachers rushed in. In the system, this kind of behavior is usually quite displeasing to the leadership, but today's commotion was extraordinary, and the teachers were determined to see it, even if it meant risking a bad impression…

Liu Zhenhua sighed again.

Ma Chaoran and I looked at each other, not knowing what he meant.

Principal Ding subtly suggested, "Anyone who wants to give up should let us know as soon as possible, so as to save everyone some time."

Liu Zhenhua handed a blank sheet of paper to Principal Ding.

“You…” Principal Ding was stunned.

"finished."

The answer is on the blank paper.

Principal Ding began to flip through the answer key of the exam paper with surprise, further solidifying his meticulous work style. Although he used to teach physics, he had not been on the front line for many years, so the answer key was more reliable, leaving no room for errors based on experience.

Principal Ding's eyes darted back and forth between the blank paper and the answer, and his expression visibly changed: "Completely correct!"

Liu Zhenhua glanced at the collection of past exam papers in his hand and said, "Principal Ding, you're using this to test the top student in the grade? Which top student in the grade can't withstand such a test?"

I was really afraid he would throw the exam paper in the principal's face.

Principal Ding showed no displeasure at being disobeyed. He glanced at his watch and said to everyone, "Did you all see that? This child finished a set of questions in just three minutes—and got them all right!"

Zhang Jingxuan looked up at Liu Zhenhua blankly. He had completed 10 multiple-choice questions in three minutes, which was quite remarkable. The wicked smile that had been on his lips just moments before had turned into a twitch.

Principal Ding instinctively reached to tear out the exam papers for other subjects from the practice test, but Liu Zhenhua gave him a sharp look. Principal Ding awkwardly stopped, then suddenly had a brilliant idea: "All the teachers are here, right? Let's create the questions on the spot! Where's Teacher Gao? Let's start with math!"

"Coming, coming." Teacher Gao arrived late. Zhang Jingxuan had skipped his class to confront Liu Zhenhua. The bald Teacher Gao rushed over upon hearing the news, but as a side effect, a group of children followed behind him. The principal's office was in the administration building, and the students were blocked outside the building, so they simply gathered outside.

Teacher Gao, being the first teacher the principal remembered, was quite proud. He squeezed through the crowd to Principal Ding, who said, "You set the questions on the spot—" and then added, "Make it a bit more challenging!"

"May I borrow your computer?" Teacher Gao took out her phone and used data transfer to print out a set of test papers from the printer. Teacher Gao was a teacher who particularly wanted to teach others how to fish, and this set of test papers, which she kept close to her, was probably originally prepared for her high-achieving students. Liu Zhenhua took it and started scribbling on the paper.

Principal Ding piled the second set of printed math papers in front of Zhang Jingxuan and said calmly, "Don't worry."

Teacher Gao couldn't wait to stand behind Liu Zhenhua and observe. Every time Liu Zhenhua made a move, Teacher Gao's expression would show a hint of satisfaction, as if a famous doctor had used a fire hook to poke out kidney stones that had accumulated over many years. As the last big question came, Teacher Gao's expression became complicated, both as if facing a formidable enemy and full of anticipation.

After Liu Zhenhua finished writing the answers, he picked up the test paper to hand it to Teacher Gao.

Wang Aili couldn't help but say, "Liu Zhenhua, have you forgotten what I said? At least check it twice before—"

"No need to check, all correct!" Teacher Gao asked Liu Zhenhua excitedly, "I didn't expect you to be able to solve the last question!"

Liu Zhenhua smiled and said, "Although it wasn't the original question, I listened carefully to your explanation of the solution."

Teacher Gao's eyes were a little red, and he looked like he really wanted to kiss the student on the forehead. He wiped his eyes and said to Principal Ding, "This is about it for junior high school. It would be inhumane to increase the intensity any further."

Principal Ding, in a fit of pique, shoved him aside and shouted into the crowd, "Where's the biology teacher?"

The biology teacher pulled out a USB drive and asked Liu Zhenhua as if making a deal: "I have a set of biology competition questions here, would you like them?"

Liu Zhenhua said, "I'll give it a try! It's kind of you to work so hard, you've only learned so little and you've already put together a set of competition questions."

The printer whirred as it printed out two sets of competition questions. Liu Zhenhua continued working on them, while Principal Ding placed another set in front of Zhang Jingxuan, focusing on a more balanced approach. Meanwhile, Zhang Jingxuan tossed aside the physics paper he had barely finished and began frowning at the last math problem, looking completely lost.

"Didn't your teachers teach you this? Write down what you already know first!" Principal Ding scolded him.

The biology teacher followed suit, standing behind Liu Zhenhua to watch the fresh answers appear on the paper.

After Liu Zhenhua finished writing the last stroke, the biology teacher walked to the wall and said to Principal Ding, "I'm out of ideas. Principal, you should look for someone else."

With the geography teacher also failing, Principal Ding muttered to himself, "Will the humanities subjects still be tested?"

A stylishly dressed young female teacher complained, "Does Principal Ding have a prejudice against humanities subjects? It's the humanities that are really bad."

Principal Ding slapped his forehead and said, "That's right! Humanities students too, everything will be done like an exam. Teacher Qiao, you teach Taoist magic, right? You go first."

Teacher Qiao said, "I won't set up a test paper. Liu Zhenhua, I'll give you a few challenging questions."

Liu Zhenhua also stood up and said, "I won't write those characters anymore, let's just memorize them."

The two stood facing each other, resembling a standoff between two armies.

As soon as Teacher Qiao uttered the question, Liu Zhenhua immediately pointed out the scoring points. After repeating it several times, Teacher Qiao was sweating profusely, as if Bai Er, the swordsman in the first chapter of "The Smiling, Proud Wanderer," was facing off against Dongfang Bubai and Feng Qingyang as a team, with absolutely no chance.

A chubby male teacher standing nearby said, "Teacher Qiao, are you sure you can handle this? Aren't you usually the one who's best at nitpicking words?"

Teacher Qiao glared at him and said, "What do you know? This child is very cunning!"
