Blue Card Starry Sky
Chapter 10 The 1st Practice
Chapter 10 First Cultivation
For the first time, Lan Tian felt curious about herself, sensing the unfathomable energy within her dantian. For the first time, she wanted to truly understand herself, and for the first time, she felt a sense of loss, confusion, anxiety, and helplessness due to uncontrollable factors.
Qin Lei instructed Lan Tian to focus on cultivating his lightning attribute skills, along with daily strength training involving carrying heavy loads. He wanted Lan Tian to make progress and achieve something every day.
Early that morning, Lan Tian got up and started weight training, running around Blue Valley with heavy loads. The valley was shrouded in mist, the air was fresh, and he felt invigorated. Lan Tian had already run ten laps around Blue Valley that morning, going up and down the mountain repeatedly. As he passed the training ground at the back of the mountain, he saw Lan Yu coming out looking disheveled, so he went up to greet him.
"Big brother, what's wrong?"
"Sigh! I was trapped inside all night, it's a long story, you mustn't go in, it's too dangerous. I'm going to ask Uncle Lei." Lan Yu went straight to find Uncle Lei.
Lan Tian was extremely curious about Lan Yu's appearance. What was inside? What kind of traps had caused his older brother to be in such a sorry state? "As the saying goes, curiosity killed the cat," and Lan Tian was that cat. The trial ground was a giant stone palace surrounded by high, circular walls. They had never been inside before, and passing by it always gave them a creepy feeling, making them feel uneasy.
Driven by an inexplicable curiosity, Lan Tian entered the Trial Grounds. Upon entering, a chilling, eerie wind swept over him, sending a shiver down his spine. He stood there, unsure whether to continue, muttering to himself about whether to go further. But then, a voice within him seemed to urge him onward, to venture deeper.
Suddenly, beams of light appeared before him, and a surge of energy drew him into the blue sky, causing him to disappear.
A fantastical scene unfolded before their eyes: a valley of wild beasts, where all sorts of wild animals roared and charged toward the blue sky. Countless beasts, large and small, were rushing madly toward the blue sky, seemingly being chased by something even more ferocious, all desperately trying to escape.
Seeing the situation was dire, Lan Tian quickly climbed a towering tree nearby. Reaching the top, he looked ahead and saw dust billowing in the distance, the earth shaking violently. A dark shadow was hurtling towards them at breakneck speed. Small wild animals, unable to dodge in time, were sent flying, howling through the air. The scene was horrific, the air thick with the stench of blood. Lan Tian remained perched in the tree, barely daring to breathe, fearing he might be caught in the crossfire.
Soon they arrived before them, where a massive Black Demon Qiankun Beast, several meters tall and weighing over a hundred tons, was charging madly towards them with its jet-black mane gleaming. It seemed to have suffered a fatal shock, rampaging wildly and crashing through the trees on either side, causing many to fall. A gust of wind swept by, and the tree Lan Tian was standing on swayed violently, nearly throwing him off. After the beast had passed, it was quite a while before Lan Tian dared to look down, ready to swoop down the tree.
At that moment, Lan Tian suddenly noticed a large black creature hiding on the other side of the tree canopy.
"Ah!" Lan Tian broke out in a cold sweat. This was a monster that could kill him. Although not as big as the one from before, it was still a colossal creature—the Black Demon Bear. It was also the overlord of this area. Crushing him would be as easy as crushing an ant.
Lan Tian sensed that he couldn't escape today; the black bear was slowly moving towards him. In a flash, Lan Tian scrambled down the tree and fled. The black bear, however, was no pushover. Seeing Lan Tian escape, it leaped down from the tree, blocking his path. "Bang!" Lan Tian crashed into the bear, the powerful impact sending him slamming ten meters away. His bones cracked and popped; he was badly injured, several bones dislocated.
Lan Tian didn't have time to think much before quickly getting up, gathering his energy, and channeling the lightning power between his fingers to find an opportunity to attack the Black Demon Bear.
With a deafening crack, Lan Tian unleashed a lightning bolt at the Black Demon Bear, which it dodged but the flash exploded in the distance. This enraged the bear even more. Its eyes gleamed, its nostrils flared, and it began to rub its front paws together rapidly as it charged at Lan Tian with incredible speed. Lan Tian was thrown back by the impact and slammed heavily to the ground again. The second blow to his small body nearly made him faint from the pain. His bones and tendons were broken, and he was completely paralyzed, leaving him in despair.
The black bear strolled leisurely towards the blue sky, gazing at the fat meat before it and letting out a triumphant howl.
"Ow Oo"
At this critical moment, an extraordinary surge of dark energy gathered within Lan Tian's body, rapidly converging on his left hand. A clear black mark appeared on his palm. A wisp of black mist swirled around him. Lan Tian was unaware of all this; he muttered to himself, "Today, my life is going to end with this Black Demon Bear!" He was filled with resentment.
The Black Demon Bear had already closed in on Lan Tian, howling as it lunged at him. Lan Tian was utterly devastated, completely paralyzed. He closed his eyes, resigning himself to fate. Unbeknownst to him, at this critical moment, his left hand was lifted by a dark force, which began to violently absorb the Black Demon Bear. The uncontrollable energy fluctuations caught the charging bear completely off guard, drawing it rapidly to the black energy wall on Lan Tian's left hand. The bear's energy was uncontrollably drained away, rapidly depleting itself. Terrified by this sudden turn of events, the Black Demon Bear was paralyzed. The sudden upheaval filled it with terror, its mournful howls echoing as its life force slowly faded, its life energy being transformed into the dark energy absorbed by Lan Tian.
In an instant, the Black Demon Bear became a dried-up corpse, all its energy absorbed by the blue sky. With a crash, the Black Demon Bear's bones and skin scattered all over the ground, like a deflated balloon.
Guided by a dark energy, Lan Tian's bones and meridians slowly recovered. A dark energy circulated throughout his body, tempering his bones and meridians. It seemed to have opened up some acupoints and meridians. All of the Black Demon Bear's energy was absorbed into his body, slightly increasing his lightning attribute, but significantly increasing his physical strength. He was about to level up.
Suddenly, misfortune turned into fortune; surviving a great calamity surely brings good luck! At this moment, Lan Tian was incredibly excited. What was going on? He was about to give up on himself, but this sudden turn of events left him feeling uncertain, and this was the only explanation he could give for what had just happened.
The powerful energy entering his body destabilized his foundation, causing him to vibrate violently to recover and adjust. He then sat down cross-legged and began to cultivate, regulating his breathing. The fluctuations of dark energy gradually decreased and weakened, settling into his dantian. At the same time, his lightning attribute also improved. Overall, things were quite good, and he had made considerable progress.
