Chapter 1 The Lord cares a lot
"Luo Qing, the wall-facer, I am your wall-breaker."

A single, soft shout shook the United Nations General Assembly hall.

The Wallfacer known as Luo Qing was giving his report for the current term when he heard this. He adjusted his glasses with his middle finger, looked up, and stared at the speaker.

The man was dressed in a formal suit, his clothes clearly carefully chosen. He also wore a BBC reporter badge on his chest, indicating that it was this identity as a British journalist that allowed him to infiltrate the United Nations and the PDC (Planetary Defense Council) briefing.

There was clearly some commotion at the scene. Given the precedent of the Wallfacer Taylor being broken through the Wall, everyone knew what the appearance of the Wallbreaker meant.

In the audience, the remaining three Wallfacers—Luo Ji, Seans, and Radiaz—had different expressions.

As the UN Secretary-General, Say cast an inquiring glance, and several calls came from backstage from security personnel.

Luo Qing gently shook her head.

Under the watchful eyes of numerous national representatives, the man who broke through the wall straightened his collar. He looked around and, seeing that no security personnel came to stop him, took a few steps closer to the podium, which distanced him from his fellow reporters. He then looked at Luo Qing with a grateful gaze.

"Thank you for giving me the opportunity to break through your barrier here. This will be the last dance of my life, and I will remember this kindness forever."

"You say it."

Luo Qing's voice wasn't loud, and the boiling atmosphere in the meeting room was quickly calmed down.

Seeing this, the man who broke through the wall straightened his collar. This pitiful man, who had spent his entire life struggling at the bottom of society, spoke in a voice as devout as a medieval believer praying in a Catholic church:

"Please forgive my rudeness. It was not my intention to make you lose your composure in front of a live television broadcast watched by four billion people. However, I have been preparing for this for too long and simply cannot bear to wait even a second longer. Therefore, I will break through your barriers and present all the strategic plans you conceived during your time in seclusion to everyone."

Luo Qing remained expressionless, rolled up the report paper, and gently tapped it on the table to signal him to continue.

The wall-breaker's tone became increasingly respectful:

"Please allow me to briefly describe your strategy in the outside world: you have tried to mythologize the Wallfacers and portray them as beings with some kind of mysterious power in films, television dramas and literary works. Ironically, the ignorant masses actually believe this, and they genuinely believe that the Wallfacers can lead humanity to defeat the invaders four hundred years later."

"People even hailed the Wallfacers as the incarnation of God. This savior-like attitude earned the Wallfacers a fervent following and worship. It was because of this that the Wallfacers, up until Mr. Taylor's suicide, strengthened their power to an unprecedented level, far exceeding the legal powers granted to them by the United Nations and the PDC."

The wallbreaker tried his best to calm himself down, but perhaps his adrenaline was no longer enough to support him in continuing this grand narrative that had been built up over many years, and his legs were a little weak.

Just then, a gentle breeze from somewhere woke him up, and the wall-breaker regained his footing. He looked around but didn't find any vents, but he met Luo Qing's ambiguous smile.

The Wallbreaker bowed his head respectfully, and at Luo Qing's prompting, Sai personally handed him the headset, which made the latter feel flattered.

After the minor incident, the wallbreaker regained his composure and recounted the rest of the story in one go:

"Although Mr. Taylor's suicide severely damaged the prestige of the Wallfacers, thanks to your deliberate marketing, more films and 'miracles' about the Wallfacers have been shown, and people's fanatical pursuit of the Wallfacers has not diminished but increased, to the point that Mr. Taylor, who committed suicide, was regarded as a great martyr."

In this situation, other Wallfacers also benefited from your influence, and their plans progressed more smoothly as a result. Through years of IP management and personal deification, the media has portrayed you as a great leader with 'supernatural power,' and you have almost effortlessly broken the power shackles imposed on you by the United Nations and the PDC. You seem to be attempting to transform human civilization into your autocratic, one-man dictatorship. This is your stated plan; that concludes my brief summary.”

After the Wallbreaker finished speaking, he lowered his head deeply, as if waiting for Luo Qing, the Wallfacer, to give him an order before he could begin the next part of his story.

"You've worked hard, haven't you?" Luo Qing said gently.

"Compared to your efforts, I have only squatted in front of Zhizi and observed you without moving for five years. It is nothing."

“It’s not easy either, you can continue now.” Luo Qing flashed his signature smile in front of the flashing lights.

The man who broke the wall paused, then his voice suddenly became louder.

"To be honest, these five years have been the most painful time for me. For a considerable period of time, you stumped me. Sometimes I really envied the other wallbreakers, at least they all seemed to have made some progress."

As soon as the Wallbreaker finished speaking, the expressions of the Wallfacers in the audience changed in unison, with Regiaz showing the most change, followed by Hines, while only Luo Ji remained serious.

Breaking through the wall? He himself couldn't even find where the wall was.

The Wallbreaker continued, "But very soon you gave me the opportunity to see through your soul. I once thought you just wanted to experience being a human dictator and were keen on playing the role of a cultivator in various cultivation-themed movies. But it wasn't until one of your cameo roles in a cultivation-themed movie, in the role of the sect leader, that I noticed your abnormality."

Upon hearing this, Luo Qing thought back carefully and indeed remembered that when he played the role of the 'Sect Leader' of the Dao Sect in a certain movie, he had shown a lot of genuine emotions.

He was beaming with joy when he became the sect leader.

The man who broke through the wall grew increasingly fanatical, his voice like sharp swords piercing Luo Qing on the stage.

Luo Qing, who was facing the wall, listened patiently.

"A thousand-foot dike can be breached by an ant's hole." The wall-breaker quoted an Eastern proverb: "Your lines when you were instructing your disciples ultimately revealed your true intentions. Based on the footage of the filming that Zhizi played back, I could sense that your teachings in the 'instructing disciples' scene contained genuine feelings."

And the subject you taught was quite profound… You were admonishing your disciples that 'everyone can attain enlightenment and become an immortal,' much like the heretical argument that everyone can communicate with the divine. Your performance in this scene, and your demeanor when reciting lines, may seem no different to others, but to me, it was worlds apart.”

The wallbreaker continued:

"I quickly threw your claim that you want to become the dictator of human civilization into the trash heap. Dictatorship is not your goal, but merely a means to achieve it. And your ultimate strategic plan, hidden beneath the surface, is the 'Everyone Faces the Wall' plan. Of course, I came up with this name; it may not sound very good, but it is quite apt."

"You believe that the Wallfacer Project is the only effective means to oppose the Lord, in the past, present, and future."

"You are a believer in leverage, thinking that a successful Wallfacer program can achieve strategic results with minimal investment. Humanity does not need five official Wallfacers with almost unlimited control over resources. A large number of civilian Wallfacers can also launch an effective counterattack against the Lord through their own efforts."

"That's right. The essence of your line 'everyone can attain enlightenment and become an immortal' is: 'everyone can become their own Wallfacer.'"

After saying this, the Wallbreaker finally straightened up. He stared at Luo Qing, who looked on the stage with a gloomy gaze, without stopping talking.

"You place your hopes on the tens of millions of people who emerge from the human society to face the wall and resist the coming of the Lord. You also believe that the Sophist cannot observe all people in detail, and that someone will always come up with a way to resist the Lord."

“Those civilian wallfacers have indeed put forward many interesting plans that can be implemented by individuals.”

"For example, the sociologists' theory of civilization assimilation only requires them to organize scholars and artists to create specific content and then spread it in reverse through the sophon monitoring system. They use the brilliant culture of human civilization to dismantle the highly centralized society of the master and solve the problem at its root."

"For example, linguists embed self-contradictory logical paradoxes into the existing language system code, taking advantage of the linearity of our thinking to reduce our analytical efficiency." "For example..." The Wallbreaker listed many examples.

In the audience, Luo Ji said to Shi Qiang next to him, "Promoting the spirit of the wallfacers, the wisdom of the people is boundless. Brilliant, Shi! Professor Luo Qing's method is ingenious, a brilliant strategy!"

The representatives from various countries listened with amazement, while UN Secretary-General Say looked as if he had just realized something, and his gaze toward Luo Qing was filled with admiration.

Luo Qing stood on the stage, lost in thought.

Is that true?
The Wallbreaker seemed oblivious to the commotion in the room; he was about to end his Wallbreaker talk.

"Of course, these are just the exposed civilian wallfacers. There are many more civilian wallfacers who adhere to the wallfacer code, preferring to hibernate to reach that doomsday future rather than spend the rest of their lives in the relatively stable social environment now."

At this point, the Wallbreaker suddenly sneered: "But these self-righteous wallfacers from the common folk, with the little they think they can threaten my Lord, the probability is still too small."

"So there still is?" Luo Qing asked calmly.

“Of course,” the Wallbreaker said, each word deliberate with his last strength, “but I can tell you the answer now: Lord, it doesn’t matter.”

After doing all this, the Wallbreaker seemed to have completed some great mission. He raised his hands to his chest, sometimes making a cross gesture and sometimes a Buddhist gesture, and after completing almost all the prayer rituals of all religions in human civilization, he lost all his strength.

The wall-breaker tried to fall backward, but an unnamed force held him up.

"Lord...you have appeared to me?"

The man breaking down the wall muttered to himself.

"It was I who appeared to you."

Luo Qing pointed his finger, and the man who broke through the wall was lifted three feet off the ground, bound in mid-air by an invisible gale.

The Wallbreaker stared blankly at himself, suspended in the center of the hall. Under everyone's gaze, he tried to grab onto something to enhance his sense of security, but only managed to grasp at thin air.

The wall-breaker struggled frantically in mid-air.

What terrified the wallbreakers was that neither the UN officials, nor the PDC staff, nor the representatives from various countries looked at them with any surprise.

"Give me a close-up." The UN Secretary-General heard Luo Qing's voice transmitted through his ears.

Sai nodded slightly, waved, and the reporters, carrying countless cameras, started snapping away at Luo Qing.

Luo Qing chuckled lightly, his suit jacket fluttering without wind, and wisps of mysterious Daoist energy swirling around him. Under Luo Qing's deliberate urging, his peak Nascent Soul cultivation burst forth without reservation.

'The Dao reveals the secrets of Heaven, locked away.'

All the important participants in the United Nations meeting, including representatives from various countries and the Wallfacers, heard Luo Qing's voice transmission, which was condensed from his divine sense.

Luo Qing couldn't believe that Zhi Zi could overhear this!
Each word, like gold and jade, fell into an icy pool. A pre-prepared array completely enveloped the entire United Nations building. Luo Qing had been locking onto the sophon for a long time, formed a hand seal, and a sword light that had been condensed for a long time suddenly slashed out.

The sword light illuminated the United Nations hall!

However, the difficulty of dealing with the sophon still exceeded Luo Qing's expectations. The attack of Luo Qing's sword light only reached the molecular level, while the sophon, which was at the atomic nucleus scale, easily passed through the gaps in the sword light and instantly accelerated to the speed of light. Before the great formation was completely closed, it passed through the atmosphere and rushed into the vacuum of space.

As the sword light dissipated, Luo Qing's nascent soul cursed, "Damn it!"

The wall-breaker gave up his futile struggle. He stared at Luo Qing in horror. What had he just seen? A phantom of a long sword slashed towards an empty space.

The dazzling sword light dissipated immediately. Luo Qing curled his lips, and the aura of the Nascent Soul cultivator receded like a tide, and the huge United Nations hall calmed down again.

On the dome, the powerful electromagnetic array combined with technology is still in place, and the nuclear battery can power the array for at least five hours. Within five hours, the sophon will not be able to enter the PCD reporting hall again.

From this moment forward, humanity will have an unprecedented five hours of safety.

Thousands of attendees held their breath as they looked toward Taichung.

Luo Qing stepped down from the podium, still clutching his report in his hand, and walked with his hands behind his back toward the Wallbreaker in the completely silent hall.

The man breaking through the wall emitted a choking, hoarse sound.

Luo Qing snapped his fingers, and the wall-breaker was thrown to the ground like a dog.

"Mr. Wallbreaker, who gave you the illusion that I've been making movies all along?"

The man who broke the wall didn't dare to look up. He turned his head slightly, trembling, and happened to see Sai's pitying gaze.

Luo Qing raised his fingertips slightly, forcing the wall-breaker to raise his head.

"You've been monitoring me for five years. Didn't you ever think that this wall-faced meditator who's always meditating and sitting in meditation might actually be a real monk? My cameo appearances in related films are just to prepare the public in advance."

The man breaking down the wall swallowed hard, unable to utter a single word.

"Your speech on breaking down barriers was very good. The only problem is that I haven't thought that much about it yet."

The Wallbreaker struggled to speak: "Who...who exactly are you? Aren't you afraid of the retaliation from my Trisolaran fleet?"

"The Trisolaran Fleet's retaliation?"

Luo Qing chuckled lightly, his gaze carrying a hint of mockery, and with a flick of his fingers, he unleashed a sharp sword light, which was held horizontally against the neck of the man who had broken through the wall.

"I don't care."

"But you'd better let your Lord care."
