Chapter 106 The Center of Belief
Hines and Keiko Yamasugi's "husband-and-wife shop" quickly became a hit.

Especially after the fourth principle [eating, drinking, and sleeping] was established, it attracted a huge number of tourists. With the help of online media, the number of people in the entire United Nations Plaza increased more than tenfold.

However, the Thought Imprint Act restricts the use of Thought Imprints to the Space Force, so even if a wealthy individual offers a large sum of money, their application for a fourth-order imprint is ruthlessly rejected.

The stance of the seven permanent members of the Security Council is clear: no civilian use is permitted, even if the content of the stamped document is beneficial and harmless.

Sociologists have reached a consensus: the misuse of ideological imprinting will exacerbate inequality in human society.

Suppose that the thought imprinting device adds entries such as "love of learning", "hard work", "true love is invincible", "strong self-control", and "kindness", those with money will frantically give themselves positive buffs, while those without money can only watch helplessly.

If this continues, such a social structure is clearly unhealthy.

Therefore, civilian access was severely restricted, and the "Thought Imprint Act" was enshrined in the UN Charter.

The only group of people who can use the thought imprint are the Space Force.

The use of thought-imprinting devices is a very sensitive matter within the Space Force, since no Space Force member is willing to publicly admit that their thinking is problematic or that they are a defeatist.

Therefore, the early visitors to the Belief Center always appeared late at night, and it wasn't until some time later that the Space Force members could openly enter the Belief Center.

After some time, the Space Force began to arrive in small groups, and eventually, teams of dozens of people, or even entire Space Force units, came to leave their ideological imprint.

The vast majority of space forces have chosen to simultaneously implement the first principle [Inevitable Victory], the fourth principle, and the fifth principle [Unity].

The first principle is to cultivate an unwavering belief in victory.

The fourth item is pure welfare; if we don't print it, we might as well.

The fifth point is due to Luo Qing's personal influence.

Of course, whenever a group of five or more people arrives, staff will conduct a quarantine investigation to ensure that none of them have been coerced.

Within just three months, the number of Space Force personnel involved in the Ideological Imprint program has exceeded 1000.

This already accounts for one-tenth or even more of the total number of personnel in the space forces of various countries around the world.

The three thought imprinting machines quickly became insufficient to meet demand, so Hines had to apply for the construction of seven more thought imprinting facilities, which led to the expansion of the Belief Center.

Today was an ordinary day, and it was raining outside, so business was a little slow, but a handsome man with a tall and straight figure but a melancholy face still stepped into the center of faith.

Hines checked his credentials; he was a member of the Chinese Space Force, but to his surprise, the Space Force member was not currently serving.

"Sixteen years ago, I served in the Space Force for a month, but then I was discharged."

"What was the reason for your retirement?"

“I have defeatist tendencies, and one of my colleagues thought I was not suited to work in the Space Force.”

Hines returned the documents to the man with a serious expression.

“Mr. Wu Yue, I’m sorry, but the Belief Center is only open to active-duty members of the Space Force in principle.”

"Is that so?" Wu Yue took the documents, seemingly without any change in his emotions. He did not argue about it, but simply turned away calmly.

"Then I'll take my leave. I'm sorry to have bothered you."

Hines and Keiko Yamasugi leaned against the doorframe, watching the former Space Force member disappear into the drizzle.

“I can see that he is going through a lot of pain. We should be more accommodating. Maybe he can regain his faith and return to the Space Force.”

Hines could see that his wife was sympathizing with him, and shook his head: "Huizi, he has lost all hope. He is just an empty shell. I can feel that. The steel imprint of thought cannot ignite the ashes. Let him go."

Wu Yue's appearance was just a minor interlude. Shortly after Wu Yue left, another special guest arrived at the Belief Center.

"Hello, Wallfacer Hines, I am your Wallbreaker." Upon hearing this hoarse voice, Hines's hair stood on end, and he instinctively took two steps back.

Keiko Yamasugi looked at the newcomer in disbelief.

Wait, are you Hines's Wallbreaker?

“Don’t be nervous, Dr. Hines.” The hoarse voice revealed itself in the dim light as he took off his raincoat, revealing a chiseled face.

He gave Keiko Yamasugi an apologetic smile, and his eyes looked familiar to her. She was certain she had seen those eyes before, but it had been so long ago that Keiko couldn't remember at all.

“According to the Wallfacer Act, I should have you arrested immediately.” Hines forced himself to calm down.

“Please listen to me first,” the middle-aged man said. He had a distinctly Italian face and spoke English, but with a strong Roman accent.

“What do you want to do?” Hines asked warily.

Behind him, several heavily armed soldiers had already surrounded the 'wallbreaker'.

"The wallbreakers are here to break through the wall, of course." The Roman forced a smile onto his weathered face.

"Control him," the lead soldier hissed.

The four soldiers immediately took action. The leader grabbed the man's wrist and twisted it sharply backward; the other two simultaneously grabbed his shoulders and pressed their knees against the back of his neck. The last soldier then grabbed his ankle, and the four of them pressed down together, causing the man to fall heavily to the ground. He was firmly pinned down with his hands tied behind his back and unable to move.

"Gag him, don't let him speak," Keiko Yamasugi said nervously, then pulled out a towel from somewhere and stuffed it into the Roman's mouth.

The Roman did not resist. He was pressed firmly to the ground, but he still held his head high, his eyes filled with resentment as he looked at Keiko Yamasugi.

"Dr. Hines, what should we do with this man?" the soldier asked.

Learning from Taylor's example, the Wallfacer Act grants Wallfacers absolute power over Wallbreakers, meaning that even if Hines orders someone to be killed, the soldiers will carry it out on the spot without question.

“I thought my wallbreaker would be a scientist or a scholar, but he looks more like a warrior.”

Hines said.

The Roman spat out the towel with difficulty and said, "I am indeed a warrior."

Keiko Yamasugi tried to stuff a towel into his hand again, but he glared at her fiercely.

Keiko Yamasugi had no choice but to hide behind Hines again.

“I don’t believe a warrior can break through my defenses.” Hines observed him carefully for a while, and his initial panic gradually subsided, and his confidence in his strategy returned.

Aside from the Wallfacer who uttered the mysterious incantation and whose name, Luo Ji, was actually completely illogical, he believed his true strategy was the most difficult to crack.

"What's your name?"

"Julius".

"This name sounds familiar."

"Yes, the last consul of the Roman Republic also had this name."

Is he Caesar?

Caesar, one of the seven council members? The controller of ETO's peripheral armed forces, the leader of the liberals, Ye Wenjie's good student in Europe, and a capable assistant in the European strategy during the Evans era—it really is him!

Caesar, who had disappeared for more than ten years, suddenly appeared in front of a Wallfacer.
